Chapter 16 Are you out of your mind?

When Tianyun arrived at the viewing platform, Xie Wuyun had already been waiting for a long time.

Seeing her arrive, he couldn't help but complain a little: "Why are you so late? The Second Prince came looking for you just now and asked about you. When he found you weren't there, he left. It's such a pity that we missed each other."

It's better to miss out! It saves the trouble of making promises.

With a delicate handkerchief, Tianyun gently covered her smiling lips and said softly, "Don't mention it. I was held up by someone who couldn't see or hear me, and couldn't get away for a while, which is why I'm late. Please forgive me, Wuyun."

"Alright, let's go pick out some horses together. If we're too late, there will only be some wild and untamed ones left."

Tianyun had never ridden a horse before, and he was a little timid. He decided to pick a gentle mare to lead to graze later.

Riding is out of the question; she's afraid of heights!

The terrain here is quite nice, surrounded by snow-covered mountains on all sides, just like the magnificent silver-white scene described in the line "The window frames the snow of the Western Mountains for a thousand autumns, and the gate harbors boats from the Eastern Wu for ten thousand miles." It would be quite appropriate to lead a horse for a leisurely stroll.

Fifteen minutes later.

Tianyun rode leisurely on horseback, his tense body slowly relaxing, the reins of the precious horse held in Xiao Ziwu's hand.

Mmm, it smells delicious.

As they were choosing horses, they encountered Xiao Ziwu, who was also there to select horses. Xie Wuyun avoided him at all costs as soon as she saw him, and pulled Tianyun aside, trying to get out of his way.

But Tianyun gently pressed her arm, signaling her to calm down. "Go in and choose first. I have something to say to the Third Prince, and I'll come find you later."

The Third Prince's narrow phoenix eyes were devoid of any emotion, and his indifferent gaze sent chills down one's spine for no reason! Was he going to leave Tianyun alone with him?

Xie Wuyun hesitated for a moment, then realized that her expression was normal, and that she herself had overreacted, treating the Third Prince like a raging flood.

So, still worried, he said, "I'll go in first. Be careful."

The girl's amber eyes were filled with boundless warmth. She bowed to him and smiled, saying, "I never expected to meet Your Highness. It's not a wasted trip."

Xiao Ziwu remained expressionless, his phoenix eyes showing no further emotion, and turned to leave.

She liked Xiao Ziyan.

The smile vanished from her lips, her face paled in shock, and she hurriedly stood up, grabbing Xiao Ziwu's sleeve: "Your Highness, wait, has Tianyun done something wrong?"

How could you have become so indifferent after only a few hours apart?

Xiao Ziwu's pupils contracted involuntarily. The slight force pulling on his sleeve was like that of a newborn kitten to him; he could easily break free with a gentle pull.

But for some reason, he couldn't take his hand back...

He didn't force his way out, which gave Tianyun a bit more confidence. She composed herself and tentatively asked, "Your Highness, could you teach me how to ride a horse?" She didn't really expect him to agree, as the young man was always self-disciplined and polite, and never gave her any pleasantries. But she never expected him to agree.

The boy's brows furrowed with silence. His gaze swept over her indifferently, and after a moment of silence, as if he had remembered something, a hint of guilt appeared on his face, and he agreed.

Tianyun's mood brightened, and he looked around with great interest.

The world covered in silver is truly beautiful. The tips of the low branches by the roadside are covered with glistening snowflakes, and tiny red plum blossoms peek out from the vast expanse of white, making them even more enchanting.

Such a peaceful scene, with one person leading the other on a horse, would be a treasure to cherish for a lifetime if captured on a photograph.

As I passed by a babbling brook.

The boy raised his left hand to wipe away sweat, and she noticed that the back of his hand was covered in bruises and was already scarred.

She asked in surprise, "What happened to the injury on your hand?"

I can only blame myself for being careless and letting the boy lead me for so long without realizing that he was injured!

The boy continued walking forward in silence, but Tianyun was unwilling to let him do that. She was so anxious that she turned over and tried to get off herself, completely forgetting that it was her first time riding a horse.

Before his feet had even properly landed on the pedals, his body swayed.

"Ah!" A gasp escaped from his mouth.

She was terrified and closed her eyes, unable to look any longer. "This must have left her crippled or at least with internal injuries!"

At that moment, her waist was gently pulled closer, and the cold hand that touched her waist made her shiver. She opened her eyes and saw the young man's cold and handsome face, which was as calm as water, close to her. His voice suddenly tightened.

"Are you out of your mind?"

Tianyun hesitated to speak, and carefully took his hand to examine it. She found a ring of purplish-blue marks on the back of his pale hand, and in some places the skin was even rubbed raw, with some flesh and blood showing through.

She was consumed by a rising anger, a suffocating feeling that reddened the corners of her clear eyes. She didn't have any medicine on her at the moment, so after a moment's thought, she pulled him back.

"Even if you don't say it, I can guess. It must be Xiao Ziyan's doing again!"

The annoyance in her tone was too deep; it didn't seem like she liked Xiao Ziyan at all.

Xiao Ziwu stopped in his tracks, thinking inappropriately.

"What's it for this time?"

"He went so far as to go too far, why didn't you resist?"

"You're a prince, after all!"

The girl was no longer as gentle as before; her sweet voice kept nagging in his ear, expressing indignation on his behalf, as if she was angry at his lack of self-control and resented his failure to protect himself.

He lowered his eyelashes, concealing the emotions surging in his eyes, and obediently let her lead him.

His Highness has returned hand in hand with a young lady!

Chang Lai was so shocked he almost knocked his jaw off. What shocked him even more was what happened next: the girl applied medicine to His Highness, wrapping him up in gauze as tightly as a rice dumpling, and His Highness didn't refuse?

"..."

He vaguely remembered the icy glare His Highness gave him when he was applying medicine a few days ago. How could the difference between people be so vast?

After carefully bandaging his wound, Tianyun asked Changlai, who was standing dumbfounded to the side, about the cause of the injury.
