Chapter 435: Fourth Brother’s Goodness
Su Wan slept until the afternoon and woke up with his stomach growling with hunger because he hadn't eaten much in the morning.
Jiang Yu had already woken up and was practicing sword in the yard. Su Wan came out rubbing his eyes, casually wearing a robe.
There were no male servants in the yard, only Liuyun and Liuying, as well as Nanny Liu, and two maids who were cleaning.
After she entered, Jiang Yu was no longer alone. The guards who had been in the yard before were now transferred to guard the door.
She leaned against the doorway, watching him practice swordplay quietly.
She vaguely remembered that five years ago, he was recuperating at the Su family. Not long after he recovered from his injury, he was practicing sword in the yard. She was so fascinated by watching him that she forgot that the water was boiling in the kitchen and the air was filled with mist.
At that time, he smiled and said that he was in a fairyland.
After applying the medicine, I had a good sleep. The soreness in my body was not as obvious, but I still felt lazy.
Jiang Yu had already caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't stop. Instead, he danced even harder.
Su Wan walked to the stone bench and sat down. There was tea, fruits and snacks on it. A new swing was set up in the yard, and the wall was planted with hibiscus, which was now in full bloom and filled the yard with fragrance.
Su Wan asked Liuying to go to the cat room and bring out the two kittens for her to see.
The kitten is only two months old, almost three months old. It is still very small and white, but there is a little black hair on the tips of its ears, and its four paw pads are black.
Because they are all little male cats, their faces are round and they look chubby. They make a clipping sound when they meow, and they have short limbs. They are so cute that they can make you bleed.
She hugged the two kittens at once, and the kittens meowed and rubbed their heads against her.
Su Wan's attention was attracted by the kitten, and Jiang Yu was left aside, so he had to put away his sword.
Liuyun was very considerate and poured him some tea.
Jiang Yu rarely wore white clothes, which gave people a different feeling.
The kittens were so noisy and struggled to get down, so Su Wan had to put them on the lawn.
They immediately moved their chubby bodies and rolled on the grass. The two kittens began chasing each other and licking each other's fur.
The setting sun at dusk dyed the sky orange, and the scene in the yard looked peaceful and tranquil.
Su Wan looked at the two kittens with a bright smile, while Jiang Yu looked at her gently.
She named the kittens Mianmian and Ruanruan. Just hearing the names sounds so cute.
Jiang Yu asked them to prepare meals, all of which were ordered from Chenglou.
The weather was nice and there was a gentle breeze outside, so we decided to eat in the yard.
Looking at the dishes on the table, all of them were her favorites. She had just slept for a whole day and was very hungry.
"I know you love spicy food, so Fourth Brother specifically instructed us to do so. He said he would send a few chefs to take care of your diet in a few days. He will arrange for Chenglou to send them over in the next few days."
Su Yun's love for Su Wan was fully revealed at this moment.
Even though he always bickers with Su Wan, he actually cares about Su Wan more than anyone else.
For example, they were afraid that she wouldn't eat well at the Duke's Mansion, so they even asked Chenglou to prepare the food and send it to her, for fear that she wouldn't eat well.
Su Wan felt warm in her heart. Even though she was married, she still received the same love from her family.
After I get back, I must thank Fourth Brother very much.
After dinner, Jiang Yu took her hand and took her to visit the Duke's Mansion. The Duke's Mansion was very large, with more than ten courtyards of various sizes, and two gardens, one big and one small. The small garden was at the entrance of the courtyard they were in.
This was a small garden specially opened up by Duke Jiang out of his preference for his wife, for her and her son to enjoy alone.
Later, she passed away, and this small garden became the exclusive property of Duke Jiang and Jiang Yu. Normally, no one was allowed to enter it casually.
Every time Ning Wei came, she had to report in advance.
Su Wan had just gotten married, so she didn't need to accompany her elders for three meals a day. She only needed to accompany them in the morning and at noon. Of course, she could be absent in special circumstances.
He took her to every place in the Duke's Mansion and patiently explained to her the origins of the names of each place.
Their own courtyard was named Hengwuyuan.
Passing by the big garden, there are many famous flowers planted there, some of which Su Wan couldn't even name, and there are also very rare black chrysanthemums.
Su Wan was really enlightened. Jiang Yu told her that after the Duke retired, he spent every day at home fiddling with the flowers and plants.
He also took her to feed the koi. The two stood under the porch. He hugged her from behind, holding fish food in his hand. Su Wan picked up the fish food and sprinkled it in. The koi immediately rushed together to grab it.
However, because it was night, there was only a row of lanterns lighting up the corridor, so it was naturally not as fun as during the day.
After feeding for a while, Su Wan didn't want to do it anymore. Jiang Yu saw that she was a little disappointed, so he put his arm around her shoulders and continued walking forward.
Just as I turned the corner, I bumped into a few people.
After a closer look, I found that it was Concubine Ning Wei and several of her followers.
Su Wan had never seen the concubine of the Duke's Mansion since yesterday, but he didn't expect to meet her here.
Ning Wei felt uncomfortable when she saw that it was the couple. Because of Jiang Zhen, she had been living in seclusion for more than a month and only dared to come out for some fresh air at night.
She heard early in the morning that the Duke had handed over the housekeeper power to Su Wan. She was very unwilling to accept this. She had paid so much for this family, but now it was snatched away by a woman who had just been there for less than two days. How could she be willing to accept this?
But it doesn't matter, she can always find something to hold against her. She's just a little girl who is still wet behind the ears. Looking at the appearance of baby Jiang Yu, she is all show and no use.
When Su Wan saw her, he didn't need to bow at all. Although she was now the prince's wife, the servants still had to respect her as a princess.
Since she is a princess, she does not have to pay respects to a concubine. On the contrary, she has to pay respects to herself.
Ning Wei knew that a little impatience would ruin a big plan, and although she was unwilling, she still bowed obediently:
"Meet the prince, meet the princess."
Su Wan turned her head and looked at Jiang Yu. Jiang Yu had never expected to meet her here and was a little disappointed.
"Madam, long time no see." Su Wan smiled politely.
"It's been a long time since we last met. I haven't been feeling well lately, so I've been recuperating in the yard. I thought the weather was good today, so I came out for some fresh air. I didn't expect to run into the princess." Ning Wei deliberately concealed the fact that she didn't show up because she was afraid of Jiang Zhen.
In fact, Su Wan really didn't know what was going on.
Jiang Yu was a little impatient and was about to leave by pulling Su Wan.
"Let's go, it's getting late, let's go back. I'll take you to visit the places we haven't visited yet tomorrow."
Ning Wei didn't want to talk to them any more.
"Indeed, please don't let your illness get to you. Princess, go back and rest."
