Chapter 34 Conversation
The child grew up day by day. When he was eleven months old and just learning to speak, Meng Ruoxi was shocked to hear that the first name the child called was her.
"Hemp, hemp, hemp."
The tender voice of a child touches your heart and makes you want to cry.
Seeing the child looking at her with sparkling eyes and stretching out his arms for her to hold, she hugged him with mixed feelings.
It felt heavy in his hand the moment he held it. Shi Yanjin took good care of him.
Little Wen Jing stood in Meng Ruoxi's arms, curiously reaching out to touch her face all over, his eyes innocent and a giggle coming from his mouth.
After playing for a while, he lost interest and started pulling her hair.
The force was so strong that Meng Ruoxi's scalp was hurt. She couldn't help but lean back and slap his little fleshy hand, "Let go."
"Wow..." After being beaten by his mother, little Wen Jing cried loudly and was very sad.
It was a rare opportunity to see mother and son together, and Yan Jin was feeling very happy when he did not expect something unexpected to happen. His heart suddenly tightened, and he quickly hugged his son and reprimanded him with a stern face.
"Don't cry. Who told you to pull mom's hair? You deserve it!" But he rubbed his beaten hand unconsciously, with a look of heartache in his eyes.
Meng Ruoxi rolled her eyes and turned away, trying not to see it.
This father and son are really enough. They are so annoying all day long and still come to provoke me. I never have a moment of peace.
Sure enough, not long after, Xiao Wenjing, who had just been beaten by her, came to her again, "Ma, Ma, Bao."
His pronunciation was not quite accurate, his speech was halting, and he tried hard to stretch out his hands to touch her.
Meng Ruoxi stretched out her hand to stop him, "Let your father hold you, I'm busy."
Xiao Wen seemed to understand, and sat down, pouted his little mouth and started howling heartbrokenly.
Shi Yanjin couldn't bear it, "Xixi, if the child wants you to hold him, just hold him."
Meng Ruoxi stepped back, with a look of rejection on her face, "No, take the child away quickly."
Seeing that she looked like she wanted to avoid him, Shi Yanjin took a deep breath, picked up the child and walked out.
The child was still crying, with tears and snot all over his face. He kept turning his head to look, hoping that his mother would come and hug him.
Meng Ruoxi, who had a heart of stone, remained indifferent. The room finally became quiet. She got out of bed, closed the door, and began to practice dancing skillfully.
She will be able to return to the city in more than two years, so she needs to work harder.
Li Taohua ran out of the room when she heard the crying. When she saw her beloved grandson crying, she quickly hugged him and walked around to comfort him.
"Oh, why is grandma's little Wen Jing crying like this? Be good, grandma is in pain, don't cry, don't cry."
Shi Yanjin was in no mood to coax the child. She was troubled by Meng Ruoxi's attitude towards the child. She pushed the wheelchair and said, "Mom, you take care of the child first. I have something to do."
Li Taohua was extremely happy. She felt that her younger son and daughter-in-law had no idea how to take care of the child and always made the child cry. She felt so distressed that she waved her hands without even raising her head.
"Go ahead, I'll take care of it for you."
The wheelchair stopped in front of the door. He reached out to push the door open, but it didn't move after a few attempts. He raised his hand and knocked, "Open the door."
Meng Ruoxi paused and waited for a while before opening the door. She looked down and saw that there was no child in his arms. She asked curiously, "Why did you come here alone?"
Shi Yanjin felt better instantly.
Fortunately, I still know how to care about my children.
His bandaged face relaxed a little, and after entering, he said, "I'll let mom take care of him. Come here and we can talk."
Knowing what he wanted to say, Meng Ruoxi walked over and sat down opposite him, lowering her head and waiting for him to speak.
Shi Yanjin didn't want to argue with her and tried to speak calmly.
"You are a mature adult now. If the child wants you to hold him, just hold him for a while. There is no need to make the child cry. He is a piece of your flesh and blood. How can you not feel sorry for him? If you cry until your voice is damaged, won't the child suffer?"
Meng Ruoxi did not answer because she could not find the words to answer.
"It is natural for a child to want to be close to his mother, and it is also natural for a mother to love her child. I can understand that you don't love your child because you are young, but please don't treat him so coldly."
Shi Yanjin tried his best to persuade her and chose his words carefully, fearing that he might upset her and it would be even worse for the child.
Meng Ruoxi still didn't say anything and was unusually quiet.
Shi Yanjin sighed, walked over to hug her, "You don't talk when you're angry. Who accustomed you to this bad temper? After all, he is your child. He calls you mom, you should feel sorry for him."
"Don't force me." After a long time, Meng Ruoxi only said these four words.
It was Shi Yanjin's turn to be silent.
He didn't know when he had forced her. It was clearly her fault. Her attitude towards the child was extremely rude and he couldn't even say anything to her.
I feel a little tired. If I don't go along with her, I will be the one who suffers. When she gets angry, I have to coax her. I don't get any good things, but I have to take all the bad things.
I really want to ask my father-in-law and mother-in-law how they raised this stupid kid.
"Forget it, I won't force you." He compromised once again and breathed a sigh of relief.
There is no need to quarrel now, the bad temper has been calmed down.
Meng Ruoxi nodded, "I understand."
She should have been happy, but she felt depressed and couldn't be happy at all.
The child is adorable, with a chubby little face that looks like me. His chubby hands and face feel very nice to the touch, and he smells like milk. One breath of it makes me feel refreshed both physically and mentally.
The bad thing is that he was born in the wrong womb and shouldn't have come out of her belly.
The ineffective conversation ended. Shi Yanjin was worried about the child and reluctantly let her go, "I'll go see the child."
"Yeah." Meng Ruoxi nodded solemnly and watched him leave with a complicated expression.
The hand pushing the wheelchair paused, and Shi Yanjin turned around, "You always say that I'm suspicious, but you're always unhappy and don't tell me anything, so it's hard for me not to be suspicious."
Meng Ruoxi moved her lips, but Shi Yanjin pushed the wheelchair away without waiting for her to answer.
Maybe he knew he wouldn't get an answer, so he just stopped waiting.
Little Shi Wenjing has stopped crying. The chubby boy holds the bottle in his hands and drinks the sweet maltose. He looks at his grandmother with crooked eyes, and looks very happy.
Li Taohua looked at it and couldn't help but sigh in her heart.
What a sin! How could Ruoxi be so cruel to such a lovely child?
You can tell without them saying it that the two of them had just had an argument about the child. This wasn't the first time.
At first she didn't dare to believe it, but after seeing it more often, she began to believe it.
It turns out there really are mothers who don’t love their children.
Even if the baby came out of your belly after ten months of pregnancy, it is still very cold-blooded.
For a moment, she didn't know whether the daughter-in-law whom she had happily married for her son was a good person or not.
People are all made of flesh and blood. As long as you treat her well, she will know what is right and what is wrong, but a heart of stone cannot be melted.
All the past events came to mind, including the time when my son told his daughter-in-law not to breastfeed.
Now it seems that it is not the son who does not allow feeding, but the daughter-in-law who does not want to feed.
"Ah." Seeing that his grandmother was in a daze and not looking at him, little Wen Jing gave up and waved the bottle in his hand to attract attention.
Li Taohua noticed her grandson at once and immediately put aside all her thoughts. She smiled and hugged him in her arms and kissed him on the cheek.
The daughter-in-law said not to kiss children on the mouth, saying that children have weak resistance and are prone to bacterial infection and illness. Her son also said the same thing. She was very convinced and strictly did as the young couple said.
Shi Yanjin came in pushing a wheelchair, looked at his son who had stopped crying and was now smiling, and said to Li Taohua, "Mom, thank you for your hard work."
Li Taohua just rolled her eyes at him and said, "This is my grandson, why are you working so hard for him?"
