Chapter 12: I Will Only Believe in Her for My Life

Chapter 12: I Will Only Believe in Her for My Life

"To your sister-in-law."

"She doesn't live with you?"

"Your sister-in-law bought a tailor shop and now lives in it." Zhou Lin took out the key and opened the door. "Go in and talk."

The two brothers entered the house. Zhou Zhisheng looked around and got straight to the point. "Brother, listen to my advice and divorce Su Hexi. Look at what kind of life you're living now? You work yourself to death every day, and then you have to wait on her when you get home? She's never been nice to you. Is it worth it?"

Zhou Lin placed the thermos on the table, paused for a moment, then turned around and looked at Zhou Zhisheng. His eyes were remarkably firm under the dim light. "Zhisheng, don't say that again. I won't divorce your sister-in-law. Not in this lifetime."

"Why are you so stubborn!" Zhou Zhisheng was anxious. "She doesn't have you in her heart at all! If it weren't for... if it weren't for that incident, would she be with you? Now our family situation is better, why do you have to stay with her like this when she doesn't know..." The words came to his lips, but Zhou Zhisheng swallowed them and changed them to: "I'm just teasing you!"

"Alright!" Zhou Lin's voice rose a few notches, with unquestionable determination, "Xiaoxi is my wife. She was, is, and will be in the future. I won't divorce her. Besides, she treats me very well now, and we will be even better in the future."

"Very good? How good? Did I give you a nice face or cook for you?" Zhou Zhi laughed angrily, "What are the neighbors saying? Just listen to their gossip!"

"Let others say whatever they want!" Zhou Lin's eyes revealed a rare stubbornness and ruthlessness. "What happened between Xiaoxi and me has nothing to do with those nosy neighbors! I, Zhou Lin, have decided to be with her for life! Good or bad, I accept her! Don't worry about it, I know what's going on."

Zhou Zhisheng looked at Zhou Lin's stubborn attitude and knew that it was useless to persuade him any further. He could only sigh heavily and stamp his feet: "Alright! Alright! If you have made up your mind, then go all the way! I wonder how long you can hold out!"

After Zhou Zhisheng finished speaking, he opened the door and left angrily.

Zhou Lin stood alone in the middle of the room, listening to the footsteps receding, then slowly walked to the bed and sat down. Fatigue surged over him again like a tide.

But the idea in his mind did not change at all.

He has decided to be with her for life.

Early in the morning, Zhou Lin came to the tailor shop with a hot breakfast as usual.

Su Hexi was hunched over the desk, concentrating on hemming a piece of clothing. When she heard the door open, she didn't even look up and said, "Put it on the table."

Zhou Lin gently put down the thermos and looked at Su Hexi's focused profile. The light outlined her much softer figure, and he felt a strange sense of calm in his heart.

"Alright!" Su Hexi raised her head, a trace of fatigue from staying up late on her face, but her eyes were bright, with a sense of accomplishment after completing a work. She picked up the dress in her hand, shook it open, and handed it to Zhou Lin: "This is for you. Try it on to see if it fits."

Zhou Lin was completely stunned, his heart beating wildly as if struck by something. She...she really did it? So quickly?

He practically held his breath as he carefully, even reverently, accepted the garment. The fabric was of inferior quality, a bit rough to the touch, but it was cut with extreme precision, and every thread was cleanly trimmed.

"Go try it!" Su Hexi urged, her eyes full of anticipation. She was confident in her craftsmanship, but after all, this was her first time making men's clothing of this era, so she needed to put it to the test.

Zhou Lin walked to the corner of the shop, clumsily and eagerly took off the worn work clothes that were almost unrecognizable, and put on the new one.

The moment he put on the clothes, he felt that the whole world was different.

It fits perfectly!

Although the fabric is rough, it feels indescribably comfortable and... warm when worn.

He stood there somewhat at a loss, not knowing where to put his hands. He could only carefully smooth out the non-existent wrinkles on his clothes, for fear of wrinkling them.

"How is it? Is it okay?" Su Hexi came over, circled around him, looked him up and down, and nodded with satisfaction, "Well, not bad, not bad. My technology and design are still pretty good."

There was a hint of pride in her tone, as if she was admiring a perfect work of art.

Zhou Lin raised his head, looking into her smiling eyes so close to him. The warmth in his heart surged, almost overflowing. His throat seemed to be blocked by something, and a thousand words were stuck in his heart. In the end, he only said a low, trembling voice: "Well, very good... It fits very well. Thank you."

He had never thought that one day he would be able to wear clothes made by her own hands. This feeling made him feel a solid and hot happiness better than getting paid, eating meat, or anything else.

"As long as it fits." Su Hexi smiled and didn't pay much attention to his excitement. Her mind had already flown to the next plan.

The batch of cloth she used for training was almost used up, and she had mastered the technique. She planned to use the remaining money to buy some better materials.

There was a glint of ambition in her eyes. Inferior cloth was only for training. If she wanted to sell it at a good price and become famous, she had to use good materials and make good designs!

That day, Su Hexi gathered the capital Zhou Lin had given her and the meager profits from selling a few small items she had used for training, carefully counted them, and went to the textile factory's salesroom again.

This time, she carefully selected several pieces of good cloth with bright colors and fine texture. Although the price was expensive and made her feel painful, she believed it was worth it.

Once the fabric arrived, Su Hexi immediately went into frantic work mode. Drawing on her previous drawings and her experience making clothes for Zhou Lin, she began cutting and sewing on a large scale. The sound of the sewing machine rang out from morning till night.

At the same time, she never slacked off on her weight loss and body shaping plan, running every morning without fail and strictly controlling her diet.

In just over ten days, the changes in her were visible to the naked eye. Her puffy cheeks had subsided, revealing a clear jawline; her waist had become thinner, and her previously tight pants now needed a belt; even her eyes had become brighter and more focused with confidence.

Although she is still far from the supermodel figure of her previous life, she has been reborn and occasionally attracts some surprised glances when walking on the street.

The first batch of garments made of good material was finally completed.

Su Hexi looked at these works that she had poured her heart and soul into and took a deep breath. Even the best wine needs a good reputation if it's not well known; it must be explored!

She carefully selected an off-white shirt and khaki pants that best suited her current figure. She pulled her hair up neatly, revealing her distinct facial features and neck. She washed her face carefully with water, avoiding makeup, to look as fresh and energetic as possible.

Then, she walked with her head held high in the busiest blocks and at the intersections where female textile factory workers had to pass after get off work.

Sure enough, as soon as she appeared, she immediately attracted everyone's attention.

Neighbors and passersby all looked at her as if she were a monster.

"Look! Isn't that the troublemaker from Zhou Lin's family?"

"Hey hey! She still dares to come out and hang around!"

"Look at what she's wearing! Weird clothes! Indecent!"

"How shameless! It's only been a few days since you got beaten up for cheating on someone, and you're already flirting again?"

"But... you know what, this outfit... does it make me look more energetic?"
