Chapter 15 New House Design

"Okay, let's go to sleep."

With just one sentence, Mao Duoduo successfully made all the little ones happily huddle together in her arms.

She felt like she was being crushed, and after much persuasion, the insecure little ones finally gave up on getting too close and instead chose to cling to her cautiously, as if that would bring them all happiness.

The little one fell asleep quickly. It was a bit hot on this day, but because he was holding snake cubs, even though they had transformed, they were still a bit cool. It made the cat, Duoduo, feel much more comfortable.

She was also vaguely thinking that she should repair the house properly tomorrow and prepare bigger rooms for the children so that they wouldn't all crowd into her room.

She never imagined that her children would cling to her so much, stemming from their deep-seated insecurity and lack of self-confidence. It's destined that even after they have their own house, they will still stick to her for a while.

The next morning.

The cat got up and started designing a new house.

This time, she opted to add a lot of new design elements to the new house.

When the children came out, they saw her drawing things on the ground and curiously came over. They were quite amazed to see that the originally simple little house had various functions in her paintings.

Snake One was more realistic: "That would probably require a lot of materials, it wouldn't be easy."

CatDodo was quite confident: "It's okay. I've already thought of it. There are ways to save space in terms of materials, so we can definitely build it."

Snake One wanted to speak, but Snake Two and Snake Three both looked completely content with their mother's help and nodded in agreement. It seemed that if Cat Dodo asked them to fight the giant crocodile beastmen, these two fearless brats would recklessly run over to duel.

Snake One: "..." It seems I'm the only one in this family who's staying calm!

"Alright, Snake One, you guys stay home and help me make the paste later. I'll go up the mountain to find soil and other ingredients."

CatDodo promptly issued the task.

The snake blurted out, "I'll help you."

Snake Two and Snake Three looked at their eldest brother in danger. What's going on? How dare you openly make a secret appointment with Mother behind our backs!

The snake ignored them completely, patted its chest, and said confidently, "I am more powerful and can be of help." Its evolutionary direction leaned towards strength, and although it was indeed not as good as an adult beastman, it was the most presentable of the three brothers.

"What? Big brother, you're bullying us!" Snake Two and Snake Three said unhappily.

Seeing this, Mao Duoduo couldn't help but laugh and quickly said, "Alright, stop it. Never mind, you guys stay home and do the work, okay? I believe only you can handle this."

She spoke sincerely, and the children, feeling elated, subconsciously agreed.

By the time the kittens realized what was happening, it was too late. They could only watch helplessly as Maoduoduo went up the mountain to dig up soil with a bamboo basket.

The first day's harvest wasn't much; the main challenge was finding a safe, reliable source of readily available soil. She brought some back and, together with a few children, simply made mud bricks.

This was also what CatDodo gained after waking up—a cheat code in the mental world: 'building' a doorway to the room. CatDodo followed that doorway and found the method for building with mud bricks.

The process of making clay bricks involves taking soil, shaping it, baking it in an oven, and then drying it outdoors.

It's like the first step is done by Mao Duoduo, the second step involves several kids working together, the third step involves Mao Duoduo keeping an eye on things while several kids help out, and the final step involves everyone cooperating.

Naturally, what was originally thought to be a long process was quickly accomplished through the collaboration of one large and three small workers, resulting in a considerable number of mud bricks.

The appearance of the mud bricks also caused several kids to go from being dumbfounded to worshiping the cat Duoduo.

Look, many people in the village live in natural stone caves or rock caves, or they follow the example of other villages and build thatched houses, wooden houses, or stone houses.

The former is inconvenient for storing things, restricts movement, and has many limitations.

The latter is fine when things are peaceful, but once there's a strong wind or heavy rain, the house collapses and they have to start rebuilding it all over again.

In this way, just like building a house with mud bricks, and with Maoduoduo's specific behavior, they are also looking forward to a better life in the future.

The whole family is optimistic about the future.

Cat Duoduo paid no attention to the fact that every time she went up the mountain to collect soil, she would encounter Leopard Lie, who claimed to be hunting, walking around nearby.

Arguing with someone you dislike distracts you from focusing on your plans for building a wonderful new home.

Unexpectedly, on the last day, as she carried a bamboo basket of soil down the mountain, she was interrupted by an unexpected person.

She was beautiful, with obvious rabbit-beastman features. Her red eyes were often misty, and some male beastmen who saw her wished they could give their lives for her.

She had a slender waist and a beautiful smile like a white flower. Now, Rabbit Spirit had jumped onto Cat Duoduo's way down the mountain and was glaring at Cat Duoduo with great displeasure.

"I'm warning you, don't pester me or play hard to get. Leopard's heart belongs to me."

As she spoke, it looked as if she was about to burst into tears.

Even Duoduo, a cat who was quite familiar with the dangerous and aggressive nature of this seemingly innocent but actually cunning cat in the modern world, twitched her eyelids and smirked, "Are you sick in the head?"

"If you really have nothing better to do, then just turn left to the end, look at that river and jump in."

"You're clearly bullying me. I'm going to tell my parents and the village chief!"

Her words left Mao Duoduo speechless, but Mao Duoduo still carefully checked the surroundings and, confirming that none of Rabbit Spirit's former admirers were there, decisively said, "Alright, stop talking nonsense."

"I really don't like how you just pretend!" Cat Duoduo said bluntly, and casually took out a bamboo tube filled with dust and sprinkled it directly on Rabbit Ling'er.

Even though Rabbit Spirit was agile and fast at escaping, she couldn't withstand the special nature of the dust, which covered her entire body.

The once stunningly beautiful white rabbit beastman instantly turned dark and grimy, and now looked at Mao Duoduo with eyes full of resentment, "How dare you treat me like this."

"Oh, sorry. Little sister, you know me after all. I'm not very capable, and I made a mistake and took the wrong thing. There's a reason for that, you know."

Cat Duoduo tried hard to control her wildly overflowing smile, and casually took out another bamboo tube from the bamboo basket.

Upon seeing the bamboo tube, Rabbit Spirit was on guard and quickly kept a few steps away from Cat Duoduo, before directly uttering a harsh threat:

"That's enough! I'm telling the village chief!"

"Tsk, I'll tell you too. I already said, this is for you to see, it's all water inside."

Mao Duoduo casually opened the bamboo tube; it was indeed filled with water. She had even patched it up, saying she had collected it for the journey and planned to drink some whenever she got tired.
