Chapter 28 is about the mud bricks that she ruined.

The straw huts leaked badly, and the cave dwellings were damp and unbearable, making life inconvenient. Once heavy snow fell, they couldn't go out and had no way to store large amounts of food, leaving them only to wait to die.

She had been working hard for many days to build a house out of mud bricks, but Hu Feng'er had destroyed most of her work, which really infuriated her.

Upon hearing that CatDodo was planning to build a madhouse out of mud bricks, some of the orcs were puzzled, thinking that CatDodo was courting death. They had tried to build houses out of mud before, but those houses were soft and unstable, collapsing at the slightest touch, a complete waste of their efforts.

Now that CatDodo has started doing so much, all to build houses, everyone is wondering if CatDodo has gone mad...

The ape-man, Siri, remained silent, stroking his beard as if deep in thought.

Cat Dodo looked at the other party with some nervousness. Knowing that the clan leader was an ape-man, she couldn't help but feel a little expectant. She thought the other party would be able to see through everything.

Even in modern times, professional scientists have confirmed through research that apes have high intelligence, and that modern humans are even derived from apes.

It could be said that, compared to the village chief, who only knew how to take sides and smooth things over everywhere, CatDodo hoped that this clan chief could speak according to the facts...

"Can!"

The ape-man, Siri, finally spoke, “According to the tribe’s rules, you provide the evidence, and she provides the proof.”

He clapped his hands and ordered the orcs to bring Hu Feng'er over. They were quick; soon they brought over a struggling Hu Feng'er.

"what you do?"

"I'm going to shout it out: I want to have your baby with you!"

"..."

After hearing these words, Mao Duoduo felt slightly embarrassed, and all she could think of was a million alpacas running through her mind.

Is this the swear word for sexual harassment in the orc world? She realized, she understood, and she even wanted to slap Hu Feng'er a few more times.

As a result, the orc in charge of taking care of Hu Feng'er was a little unhappy and threw Hu Feng'er on the ground.

With a thud, Hu Feng'er fell to the ground. Before her admirers could even react, Mao Duoduo beat them to it.

Cat Duoduo immediately grabbed the other person's hand and examined it carefully, then quickly exclaimed, "There's dirt. There's dirt under Hu Feng'er's fingernails and between her fingers."

Even though it seems like the other party tried to be clear, they still left quite a few traces.

"What nonsense are you spouting!" Hu Feng'er awkwardly hid her hands behind her back.

However, it still couldn't withstand the more active Snake 3.

Snake Three saw the fingers behind her and quickly exclaimed, "Mother, it's mud! She really ruined our adobe bricks!"

"What a joke. Who said I did it? You must be jealous of my looks and popularity, so you're deliberately framing me behind my back, saying I ruined your adobe houses." Hu Feng'er spouted nonsense, acting as if she were being unjustly accused, which genuinely made Mao Duoduo laugh.

"Are you sure? I found your fox fur, and even other evidence—" She deliberately dragged out her voice, and she did see the fear and tension flash across Hu Feng'er's face when she heard this.

"You, you're talking nonsense. I was digging a hole by the river and accidentally got it dirty..." Hu Feng'er stammered at first, but then her speech became more and more fluent, as if she had really done it.

Seeing this, Mao Duoduo wanted to laugh even more, but looking at the other party's trapped beast-like appearance, she felt nauseous and wanted to vomit.

That's enough.

Suddenly, the ape-man Siri spoke.

Hu Feng'er assumed the other party was on her side, so she deliberately glared at Mao Duoduo, then looked at Xili with infinite tenderness, appearing to trust the other party completely.

Immediately, Snake Three became a little nervous and tugged at Cat Duo Duo, wanting to ask the other party for advice.

"Chieftain, you must be discerning and not be blinded by others..."

"Hu Feng'er, why did you destroy the fruits of Mao Duo's labor?"

Xili's words immediately changed Hu Feng'er's expression, and he froze on the spot.

Hu Feng'er stammered, sounding somewhat awkward, "Clan leader, why are you saying this? I'm innocent! How could I possibly do such a thing?"

The other orcs on the scene were about to nod in agreement, but after a single glance from the ape-man Siri, they immediately shut their mouths.

Hu Feng'er was filled with hatred upon seeing this, inwardly cursing these useless orcs. They had showered her with affection in ordinary times, but now, not one of them had done anything to her.

Seeing this, Maoduo finally felt relieved.

"Are you still going to argue?" Siri clapped his hands, calling over the orc bird-like beastman who had been standing at the cave entrance for who knows how long. "Tari, tell me what you saw today."

"Yes, Chieftain." The bird-like beastman spoke quickly, mainly because he had seen Hu Feng'er leave Mao Duo's house in a hurry with a strange expression when he was on patrol early this morning.

At the time, he didn't sense anything was wrong. Seeing that there was no blood in the cat's body, he just assumed it was flying by normally and didn't take it seriously.

Unexpectedly, Hu Feng'er went and ruined the fruits of others' labor, and then stubbornly refused to admit it...

"You've got it wrong. I... I actually had something to do at the time, near Maoduo's house," Hu Feng'er tried to argue.

But everything was interrupted by Siri: "Look closely at your fingers, they've been exposed."

Xili clasped his hands together, looking as if he had everything under control. "If I'm not mistaken, the adobe bricks that Maoduo uses are the kind dug from the mountains. They're not the same type of soil as the riverbank soil that you, Hu Feng'er, mentioned before."

“…Yes.” Maoduo was somewhat surprised to hear this.

She never imagined that the ape-man Siri would be so clever as to discover this.

She had examined the surrounding soil and water, and her final decision to go up the mountain was simply because the land there was unique and suitable for building a house. As for the land by the river, she had never considered it.

Upon hearing Xili's words, Hu Feng'er showed a look of fear, fell to the ground, and tears streamed down her face.

Although she didn't utter a single word, all the orcs present realized that she had indeed done such a thing.

That's why the orcs who were just moved by her appearance and wanted to subconsciously choose to stand on her side all shut their mouths.

If it were that old, irresponsible village chief who liked to smooth things over, they would probably choose to observe the situation and step in to help Hu Feng'er.

However, the situation was different with Siri, the ape-man. People admired and trusted him, firstly because of his wisdom, and secondly because of his neutral stance; he wouldn't easily side with others.

Because of this, Hu Feng'er's family members were quickly summoned.
