After eating and drinking her fill, Chen Yuwei picked up the account book and started looking through it.
The ledger looks rather thin, and feels only slightly thicker than a few pages of paper.
Chen Yuwei knew that because she had no dowry, after entering the palace, besides her own small bundle, she would only have the items given to her by the Fujin (princess's wife).
At first glance, the things that Hongli sent today seem numerous, but in reality, they are all ornaments: a hairpin, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings. The combined weight and floor space of these items are less than that of a bowl.
Well, after all the calculations, I'm still a poor wretch.
Chen Yuwei glanced at it twice and lost interest. She casually tossed aside the ledger in her hand and then told Xia He that if she encountered a similar situation again, she would handle it herself.
Xia He: The prince hasn't even arrived yet, and you're already indulging in wild fantasies?
Xia He nodded, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopping herself. "Yes, this servant understands."
Chen Yuwei waved her hand and leaned back, saying, "Go on with your work, I'm fine here."
Xia He quietly agreed, then turned and left with the account book.
There was no one else in the room but herself, which made Chen Yuwei feel more at ease.
"System, come out and let's talk."
"Host, as a seasoned mission taker, you do not need to maintain constant contact with the system."
"What? You don't want to talk to me?"
"...Host, you're overthinking it, System."
"Stop talking nonsense, go deduct the points yourself and sell me a copy of the analyzed mansion data."
"Yes, host, it's a pleasure to work with you."
The system fully demonstrated the art of face-changing; after deducting the corresponding points, it transmitted a dense analysis data packet to Chen Yuwei's head.
Chen Yuwei: ...
Chen Yuwei was momentarily dazed, and when she came to her senses, a strange memory had appeared in her mind.
Tsk, the system is getting increasingly crude. It seems I've been giving it too much face, making it unable to distinguish between master and servant.
"Let's leave it for now, let me take care of Hongli's affairs first."
After muttering a few words to herself, Chen Yuwei closed her eyes and compared the analysis data she had obtained with the people she had greeted during the greetings.
Princess Consort, Princess Gao, Princess Zhou, Princess Fucha
The princess consort was fine; she was the mistress of the mansion and the future empress of the Qing Dynasty. She had no bad character, except that her health was poor, and she eventually died from exhaustion.
Princess Gao was a contradictory person, both aloof and proud, arrogant and insecure. In the end, she died by her own hand. After all, Hongli was a scumbag who would turn his back on people. She had given her heart to him and was bound to learn her lesson sooner or later.
When Hongli ascended the throne and bestowed titles upon the people in his harem, there was no trace left by this person, Zhou Gege.
One might boldly guess that this person must have done something to anger Hongli, causing Hongli to disregard past relationships and erase all traces of the other party.
Well, then she needs to be careful of Zhou Gege to avoid being implicated by her and incurring Hongli's displeasure.
Princess Fucha, the birth mother of the eldest prince Yonghuang, died of illness three months before Hongli ascended the throne. Later, Hongli posthumously conferred upon her the title of Consort Zhe and the posthumous name Zhemin.
This person died at a very inopportune time. You should know that in the year before Hongli ascended the throne, Yongzheng's health was not very good. Hongli needed to frequently go to the Yuanmingyuan Garden and could not take care of the affairs of his residence. All of these were handled by Fucha Fujin.
Princess Fucha ruined her health in order to have a child, and had to stay sick for many years. She died before seeing Hongli, whom she had desperately wanted to have a child for. Her funeral was simple, and she didn't get any benefits at all.
Oh, and I should add that Yonghuang, the son of Princess Fucha, wasn't much better. He was eventually driven to his death by Hongli. This was partly due to Hongli's cold-bloodedness and partly due to Yonghuang's own cowardice, but he still died.
Who can you blame? Without a mother to protect him, and not being smart, he always coveted things that were clearly out of his reach, so he just lost his life for nothing.
Chen Yuwei shook her head, thinking that things would definitely be different after she had the child. She could raise the child however she wanted. Anyway, it was impossible to expect her son to take over. Who knows, her son might not take good care of himself and might not even live as long as his own father. It was better to live well in the present and deal with who would take over later.
Chen Yuwei won't do anything that doesn't require the publisher to do it.
After all, vying for the throne is a matter of life and death. She almost became depressed and vomited blood when she fought for the throne in Kangxi's harem before. If she had to do it again, Chen Yuwei would have to doubt whether she could continue to do the subsequent tasks related to the Qing Dynasty.
You should know that her task list was filled with pages and pages of Qing Dynasty tasks, as if she had stumbled upon a Qing Dynasty secret.
Unable to resist complaining, Chen Yuwei even dragged herself into it, completely oblivious to the fact that she hadn't done anything wrong.
Hmph, she's not human, what's there to be afraid of?
"System, why do I feel like your analysis of the concubines is rather perfunctory?"
Compared to the lengthy discourses of the three princesses and the wife, the remaining five concubines (excluding themselves) each wrote only a few lines.
Chen Yuwei unconsciously pursed her lips, believing that the system was engaging in fraudulent behavior.
The system explained, "Of the five concubines, only Concubine Jin and Concubine Su have some information that can be found."
Keliyete's concubine, who later gave birth to Prince Rong Yongqi, kept a low profile.
Concubine He and Concubine Yu are essentially nonexistent; the system can only provide objective analysis, and beyond that, it can do nothing more.
It is just an artificial intelligence, and the analysis it produces needs to be based on objective facts.
As for Concubine He, Concubine Yu, and Concubine Keliye, Hongli wouldn't even think of them once every six months. What's there to analyze about that? Isn't it just making things difficult for him?
Chen Yuwei argued with the system, because she couldn't let herself be taken advantage of for no reason.
