Chapter 88: Preparing to Cheat

After arriving in Daxing, Xing Lao also learned that his old friend was still angry with him.

It's forgivable to fail at something big, but to fail at something so small is truly embarrassing.

He was also angry, so when he arrived at the destination, he summoned everyone from the Daxing Garrison Command.

He didn't say anything, just stared at everyone with a gloomy face.

These people were originally from Daxing; they were the kind of people whose mere cough would send shivers down Daxing's spine.

But now they didn't even dare to breathe loudly, remaining silent for a long time, which frightened everyone to the point of being terrified.

Old Xing finally spoke, saying, "Come on, tell me everything. What exactly happened? How exactly are you handling this?"

The other high-ranking officials in the room were also completely bewildered. They did know what had happened, but there was someone with a very powerful background...

They came to Daxing, and the higher-ups told them to arrange for them to be sent back. It's such a small matter, why has it escalated to this point?

The top officials from both Heishan and Jichun prefectures have personally arrived. Has something happened to them in Daxing?

Who would be so audacious as to tamper with this and risk their life?

The prefect questioned the officials down the chain of command, but several people simply gave a brief explanation and then stopped investigating.

In the end, it fell into the hands of a police chief, who hasn't come today, saying he's sick and in the hospital receiving emergency treatment.

The garrison commander is going crazy; he's messed up even this simple matter.

He turned around and apologized to Elder Xing, saying, "I'm sorry, Elder Xing, I didn't do a good job. I'll accept any punishment, whether it's a beating or a penalty."

Old Xing thought the matter was that simple; the person in charge had suddenly fallen ill and hadn't handled it properly.

Still harboring some resentment towards his old friend for making a mountain out of a molehill, he sighed and said, "Alright, let's see where he is first. Once we find him, bring him over. I'm going to see my old friend."

The garrison commander felt relieved, seeing that the matter was about to be resolved, because it now seemed that...

It was all a misunderstanding and nothing serious. He then instructed the prefect to go and find out where the person was, and explained the situation. The prefect also set off to find the person immediately.

I was in the detention center when I sensed a great commotion outside. When a lot of people arrived, I knew it was my master.

Tell Lao Mo right now to beat me up, make sure it's a really obvious slap in the face.

Old Mo was stunned for a moment, but Crow realized that I was obviously up to no good. He pushed Old Mo aside and punched me twice in the eye.

Suddenly I looked like a panda, terrified as the crow tried to attack again, and quickly cried out, "That's enough, that's enough!"

The crow stopped, looking like it wanted more. I explained, "A couple of hits were enough. It was just pretending to be pitiful."

After saying that, he pretended to close his eyes and go to sleep. Before long, the prefectural magistrate of Daxing Prefecture rushed over with his men.

They were stunned when they saw the dark circles under my eyes. Why were you hit?

He glanced back at the director, gave him a meaningful look, and asked, "What happened?"

The station chief, equally bewildered, replied, "I don't know. We didn't do it. They're all martial artists; how could we possibly defeat them?"

After discussing it, the prefect understood what I was meant to do.

Looking at my young age, you can better understand that I'm up to no good.

Even though I understood, there was nothing I could do; I could only humbly come and beg me.

Once outside the fence, he kept urging, "Open the gate quickly! What kind of work is your bureau chief doing? He was supposed to pick someone up, why did he bring them here instead?"

Turning back to me, he said, "Oh dear, Fourth Young Master, you've really misunderstood. Look at how your men have handled this; they've suffered these past few days."

He came over to shake my hand as he spoke, but Old Mo and Crow stopped him.
