Chapter 256 Old Case 2

The incident that happened at the First Seat last time involved Ouyang Beiguo's lawsuit, and Qin Suisui had investigated Lin Feng before.

Lin Feng himself did not make her wary; what made her wary was Lin Feng's backer—the Yuan family of Macau.

The Yuan family of Aocheng is a family with a history of over 100 years, which has experienced war and setbacks.

Starting from humble beginnings, a century later, the family business has spread to all industries related to people's livelihoods.

They have connections in both the legitimate and criminal worlds, and their foundation is very deep and solid.

This kind of family, which has been passed down for centuries, is different from newly emerging families. Their kinship relationships are complex, and they are deeply rooted in each other.

When dealing with such families, fighting alone is like a mantis trying to stop a chariot; the only thing that can bring them down is the power of the state.

When the suspect was apprehended, she felt a deep sense of relief.

But now, all the clues tell her that Lin Feng has been involved in the cases of the first case and organ transplantation.

She frowned in deep thought, wondering if the Yuan family was involved.

Qin Suisui then realized that, in the end, her case and the chief's case were still connected through other litigation cases.

"Phew~"

She took a deep breath, and after clearing her mind, she began to look for possible overlaps in Ouyang Beiguo's litigation documents.

"Ring ring~"

Qin Suisui looked up from the computer screen and saw an incoming call out of the corner of her eye. It was a message from her senior brother Huo.

She picked up her phone with one hand and rubbed her temples with the other.

"Hey~"

Her voice was soft and slightly tired.

"You must have had a tough day!"

When Huo Zhongyuan heard Sui Sui's voice, he felt a pang of heartache and pity in his chest.

"Yeah, something's come up that's really upsetting me!"

Qin Suisui tapped her fingers on the keyboard, staring at the flashing text on the computer screen, her mind heavy with worries.

"Is it a secret?"

Huo Zhongyuan knew that most of Sui Sui's lawsuits involved confidentiality agreements.

If Sui Sui hadn't looked so downcast, he still wouldn't have bothered with it.

However, he asked the question cautiously as well.

"No!"

Qin Suisui slowly shook her head, looked at the messy text on the screen, and simply shut down the computer.

"Senior brother, where are you now?"

"Downstairs!"

Huo Zhongyuan had already arrived at the foot of Yuanxing Building. He looked up and glanced in the direction of Sui Sui's office.

"Wait for me, I'm coming down now!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Suisui turned around, picked up her backpack, and got up to walk outside.

Duoya was holding the expense report from last month's break room when the office door opened from the inside.

"Qin Lu, what's wrong?"

"What's up?"

Qin Suisui glanced at the summary reimbursement vouchers in Duoya's hand.

"Doya, please leave these summary vouchers with Assistant Yue for now. I will review them when I come to work tomorrow."

"OK!"

Duoya stepped aside, and Qin Suisui nodded with a smile and walked out on her own.

Duoya kept glancing back as she walked, until she reached Assistant Yue's desk.

"Assistant Yue, you need to give this to Attorney Qin tomorrow!"

She handed the summary voucher in her hand to Yue Hongxin, who was searching for information.

She lay between the partitions, looking on with curiosity.

"Assistant Yue, why did Attorney Qin leave so early today?"

Yue Hongxin stopped what she was doing and looked up at Qin Lu, who had disappeared around the corner.

Something must have happened!

She thought of Ouyang Beiguo. Every time that Mr. Ouyang came, Qin Lu's emotions would fluctuate for several days.

"I think Mr. Huo should be downstairs!"

Duoya smiled ambiguously. She vaguely knew that Mr. Huo had gone abroad some time ago and had just returned recently, probably on a sweet date.

"Doya, you're so gossipy. Be careful Qin Lu finds out and gives you a cold smile, then you'll know what fear is!"

Yue Hongxin glanced at Duoya, whose face was full of curiosity, with amusement.

"No way!"

Duoya pouted and glared at her. She had only mentioned it once to Assistant Yue, but Assistant Yue had been mocking her every now and then.

"I was just worried about Qin Lu last time, how come it's become me being afraid when it comes to you!"

"Hmph"

Yue Hongxin wrinkled her nose and leaned back.

"Aren't you afraid? Then why are you asking around to see if you've done anything wrong? That's why Qin Lu is giving you a cold laugh."

"I was just worried about being misunderstood!"

Duo Ya angrily reached out and ripped Yue Hongxin's glasses off.

"Doya!"

Yue Hongxin got up to snatch it, but Duoya dodged her.

"You dare bully me!"

Duoya held up her glasses to Yue Hongxin, then turned and ran away.

Without noticing, she almost bumped into Chang Jinhui, who was walking out of the office.

"What's wrong with you? You're so impulsive!"

Chang Jinhui put his hands on Duoya's shoulders, his eyes full of smiles. What is this? She's throwing herself into his arms!

"Are you as irritable as me?"

Duoya blushed slightly, glared at him, pushed away Chang Jinhui's support, and ran away.

"Chang Lu, are you happy now!"

As soon as Yue Hongxin walked around the partition, she saw Chang Jinhui standing there grinning foolishly.

She rolled her eyes inwardly; she'd never seen such a dawdling man.

They like someone but don't dare to pursue them, so they just secretly admire them from afar, which is heart-wrenching!

Is it really that hard to choose? If a man likes someone, he likes them. What's wrong with taking the initiative? There's no need for so much weighing of pros and cons!
