Chapter 37 Accident

Qin Suisui was busy from the afternoon until dusk, finally cleaning up her new home. Exhausted, she collapsed onto the sofa without even washing up.

Feeling crushed pain all over her body, she took advantage of the moment to close her eyes and rest to quickly review the information she had read that day, filtering out the key points and discarding the irrelevant information that could be ignored.

After resting for about half an hour, she slowly got up. Outside the glass wall, thousands of lights were already on.

She touched her rumbling lower abdomen and felt that she could eat anything.

She went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and looked inside. Apart from some seasonings, there wasn't even a single egg.

She forgot to buy groceries, patted her empty stomach, picked up her bag again, changed into comfortable sneakers, and prepared to go to the nearby shopping mall to see if she could fill the refrigerator.

She had just returned to China, and the car she had ordered from the dealership hadn't arrived yet. Too lazy to notify the driver, she walked to the shopping street to shop alone.

It's about two kilometers from the residential area to the commercial street. On the way there, she didn't feel anything.

On her way home, carrying two large shopping bags, she struggled uphill and realized what it meant to be unable to move an inch.

Qin Suisui's hands ached from the tightness of the bag, so she loosened her grip on it.

Sigh~

She couldn't help but sigh. She regretted it; she should have asked Xiao Xu to come pick her up earlier, and he could have helped her carry her shopping bags upstairs.

Looking at the quiet road ahead, she could only resign herself to continuing forward. Feeling her hands getting heavier and heavier, she pulled hard.

"Bang!"

With a crisp sound, the handbag hit the rearview mirror of a speeding black car.

The black A8L in front of her slowly came to a stop. Qin Suisui looked at the items scattered all over the ground, closed her eyes, and wondered if there was a more depressing scene than this.

She had no choice but to put down her shopping bag and quickly pick up the snacks scattered on the ground so as not to obstruct the traffic behind her.

Following the direction of the unlicensed taxi, she picked up the last pack of self-heating hot pot. As she looked up, she caught a glimpse of a tall man getting out of the taxi.

"I'm sorry, sir. It was my fault just now. I will take full responsibility for the damage to the vehicle that I caused."

As night deepened, Qin Suisui could vaguely see a pair of deep eyes beneath the other person's tightly furrowed brows, which seemed to reveal impatience.

Seeing this, Qin Suisui looked slightly embarrassed.

The man in front of her was tall and slender, yet his figure was upright and sturdy, like a pine tree. He was walking towards her with an imposing aura.

The man stopped a few steps away from her: "Do you need any help?"

Her voice was clear, gentle, and deep, especially alluring in the quiet night. Qin Suisui's earlobes burned; she realized for the first time that a voice could be so seductive and sexy.

Qin Suisui is nearly 1.7 meters tall, but she only seems to reach his shoulder. He has to look up at her when he speaks.

Under the quiet night sky, her face was sharp and cold. She took a deep breath. This man was probably the most masculine man she had met in recent years.

Even from a few steps away, Qin Suisui could feel the intense pressure emanating from the other party. She quietly took a step back and took another deep breath.

"Need not."

"Sir, was your car damaged?"

"There's no damage, you don't need to claim compensation."

Huo Zhongyuan glanced at the other person under the streetlight and, seeing that he was not injured, did not want to linger and simply nodded.

He turned and walked toward his car. As he got in, he suddenly realized that the other person might live in the same neighborhood as him. Considering that it was already late and the other person was carrying heavy items, he turned back and asked, "If it's Ocean International, I can give you a ride."

Unwittingly, Qin Suisui was once again captivated by the other person's deep, magnetic voice. Suppressing the slight flush on her cheeks, she quickly thanked him, "Then I'll trouble you!"

After getting on the bus, Qin Suisui couldn't help but feel annoyed at her own rashness. What was wrong with her today? Unwilling to think deeply about the moment of confusion in her mind, she could only blame it on the mental disorder caused by physical exhaustion, and refused to admit that every aspect of the other person was superior to her aesthetic standards.

To Qin Suisui's surprise, Mr. Hormones lived in the same district as her, in the next unit of the same building.

Oh! Forgive her, Qin Suisui's cheeks flushed again in the darkness, using the word "hormones" to describe a serious and proper man for the first time.

After getting off the bus, Qin Suihui thanked him again: "Thank you so much for your help today!"

Her tone was sincere, and her gaze was genuine.

"You're welcome!"

The man nodded slightly and walked towards the unit on the east side.

Qin Suisui watched the other person's tall and broad back turn into the next unit, a rare look of appreciation in her eyes.

"Lawyer Qin, Huating Power International has sent you a directory of emails from a third party. We need you to sign the receipt document."

Yue Hongxin knocked on the door and came in, looking at Qin Suisui who was still frowning and checking information on the computer screen.

Qin Suisui had returned from the small conference room to her new office, where the interior decoration was finished. There was a small rest room behind the office, where Qin Suisui had been washing up and resting for the past week.

Unfortunately, the sheer volume of documents Anthony sent from headquarters was overwhelming, including some in English and German, making it impossible for her to rely on others for information organization. She had to complete the review and collection work independently.

Even with her powerful memory, she could only spend more time and energy completing the complex and tedious database.

Yue Hongxin looked at her boss, who was rubbing his temples, and felt a pang of heartache. This was the first time in a week that her boss had been working overtime and staying overnight at the law firm. He was risking his life to fight for his future!

After working together for several months, whether attending court hearings or providing off-court support, the boss was always thorough in his work. The key information he provided off-court during several court hearings played a crucial role in winning the case.

This caused the elites at the Law Offices of R.R. Dunn to go from questioning their boss to admiring and bowing down to him.

"Huating Power finally delivered the electronic documents?"

Qin Suisui breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that Huating Power had finally delivered the information she needed through a board resolution.

Where is the other party?

Yue Hongxin: "I told her to wait for you in the small meeting room!"

Qin Suisui looked up and asked, "You know him?"

Normally, Yue Hongxin would take the person from Huating Power who came to make contact directly to her office. This time, however, she took them to the meeting room, which suggests that the person who came this time was somewhat different.

"Qin Lu, it's Secretary Cheng from the president's office at Huating Power!"

Yue Hongxin rarely pursed her lips, her eyes filled with disdain.

It's her!

Qin Suisui exited the reading interface from the laptop, closed the laptop, and smiled slightly.

"Assistant Yue, please bring her to the conference room now."

After all, Lawyer Parker had been operating in Huating for many years. The last time Old Parker did him a favor, it was because of Dong Hao, a senior executive within Huating and head of the domestic market department. He and Zhang Qian, the head of the overseas department, had always been at odds.

Qin Suisui learned from him that when she first went to meet General Manager Zhang at Huating Power, it was Cheng Jiaona who interfered.

Cheng Jiaona is the secretary in the president's office, and she also has another identity: a friend of Zhang Jie, Anru's best friend.
