Qin Suisui couldn't help but laugh; the case was becoming increasingly interesting.
Anru must be in a terrible state right now, like an ant on a hot pan, completely overwhelmed.
"What? The other party confessed that I ordered them to do it?"
Anru's hand holding the phone trembled slightly, and she vehemently denied it.
"How could that be? I don't know anyone like that!"
Her tone was hurried, tinged with anxiety.
“I don’t have time to go there right now, I will have my lawyer go and handle it.”
"No way? The suspect identifies me? That's a joke. Just because he says I am, does that mean it?"
Over the phone, Director Sun's expression grew increasingly cold, and his tone became increasingly harsh.
"Ms. An, the suspect has evidence of your transaction with him. We hope you will cooperate with the investigation."
If it weren't for giving An Jia some face, he wouldn't have made that call at all. Instead, he would have taken people to the other party's workplace, shown his identification, and taken the person away.
They certainly wouldn't blindly believe the suspect's words. Before making this call, their police station had already learned about the feud between the woman and Lawyer Qin.
After understanding the whole story, all he could do was curse that the person had a serious illness.
He listened to the increasingly rapid breathing on the other end of the phone and continued, "Ms. An, if you do not come to the police station this morning, we will go to your workplace or residence to ask you to cooperate with the investigation."
"I understand, I'll be there in a bit."
With a "bang," Anru hung up the phone, gritting her teeth in anger, unable to understand how the person she had paid a high price for could be arrested so easily.
"What a fucking piece of trash."
She paced restlessly in the bedroom, knowing that things had escalated to a point where she could no longer smooth things over.
After thinking it over, she realized that only her mother could help her now.
When Hui Meiqing received the call from her youngest daughter, she thought she had misheard.
"Xiaoru, explain yourself clearly, who did you contact?"
Anru, unusually, did not argue, and explained again in a low voice.
"You, Xiaoru, are you trying to drive your mother to her death? How could you do such a stupid thing?"
Hui Meiqing angrily rebuked them, saying that everyone says daughters are their mothers' little darlings, but her two daughters were making her age prematurely.
Hearing her youngest daughter's soft sobs on the other end of the phone, she couldn't help but feel heartbroken. She closed her eyes and tried to hold back her tears.
"Okay, stop crying. Go to the police station first. I'll ask someone to pull some strings and find out what to do about this."
