Chapter 56 Court Trial

Wen Heze was almost driven mad by those words.

"You guys have no choice but to just sit here and do nothing? What, you all want to be laid off early?"

“If you don’t care, then why are we even going to court? We might as well just admit it.”

He glared angrily at the reproductive center director, who was cowering in the corner, head bowed and silent.

"Yuan Hao, don't hide. You're the person in charge of this matter. Tell me, how do you plan to resolve this?"

Yuan Hao lowered his head and smiled bitterly, knowing he couldn't avoid it, and looked up at the person in the first seat.

"Dean Wen, ten years ago I was just a junior doctor, and I didn't handle those matters. I really don't know how to answer."

"Just because you weren't involved, does that mean you can shirk responsibility?"

The others spoke one by one, like squeezing toothpaste, calling out to each one before finally managing to utter a word or two. He let out a cold laugh.

"Don't even think about shirking responsibility. If you don't come up with a solution today, none of you are leaving get off work."

Upon hearing this, the subordinates finally realized the seriousness of the situation. Judging from Dean Wen's attitude, if a final solution wasn't provided, they might not be able to leave.

They glanced at each other a few times, then finally began whispering among themselves, exchanging information to see if they could find a way to solve the problem.

Two days later, Jingzhou Hospital was in a state of panic, like an ant on a hot pan, when it received an enforcement application from the court requesting the hospital to cooperate with the law firm of Lawrence Rhodes to access relevant documents.

The court could only delay the process for Jingzhou Hospital by a maximum of two days, and issued an approval document when the law firm of Lawrence applied for the second time.

After receiving the application from the Law Offices of Luo Dun, Jingzhou Hospital knew there was no way to avoid collecting evidence. In the confusion, Hai Shi lost his mind and provided a document that was half true and half false.

Qin Suisui held the newly released investigation data from Jingzhou Hospital, sighed, shook her head, and chuckled softly.

She looked up at Yue Hongxin and waved a stack of documents in her hand.

"See? This is a classic case of digging one's own grave."

She threw the documents on the table.

"Assistant Yue, go to the court this afternoon to apply for a trial date. I require you to keep a close eye on the court and make sure the trial is scheduled for this week."

"What if the court disagrees and there's a delay?"

Through the previous lawsuit against Huating Electric Power, Yue Hongxin realized that the courts can be influenced by personal feelings when handling cases.

"Disagree? Delay?"

Qin Suisui's lips curled up slightly.

"Assistant Yue, don't you know that Huating City has a mayor's hotline?"

"Any issue reported to the mayor's hotline that needs to be resolved must be assigned to a specific post and person, and implemented effectively."

"Staff are also required to follow up on the investigation and the handling results of each responsible unit during the process, and these results must be detailed and clear, and the final results must be reported back."

"ah!"

Yue Hongxin had no idea what else could be done with the mayor's hotline.

After a moment of stunned silence, she couldn't help but smile.

"Lawyer Qin, I'll take care of it this afternoon."

Qin Suisui's actions almost caught the court staff off guard. When they received a call from the mayor's office operator that afternoon, they nearly lost their composure.

After learning the whole story, they finally swallowed their anger and published the court hearing time for Jingzhou Hospital and Fan Jing on the court website.

The court's sudden refusal to comply disrupted the arrangements of Jingzhou Hospital.

Once you realize there's no way to avoid it, quickly gather all the valid documents and materials you have and prepare to respond to the lawsuit.

The court hearing was on Friday afternoon. Qin Suisui, along with Yue Hongxin and the plaintiff couple, had just arrived at the courthouse entrance when they ran into the legal team from Jingzhou Hospital.

The representative from Jingzhou Hospital looked at Qin Suisui and her entourage walking towards them, and immediately frowned, glaring fiercely at the four people opposite them.

This almost tangible gaze made Qin Suisui look up. Seeing that it was someone from Jingzhou Hospital, she ignored their hostility, nodded slightly to them, and then turned to lead the three of them into the courthouse.

“Qin Lu, have you noticed that balding middle-aged man behind us?”

Yue Hongxin quickened her pace and stood close to Qin Suisui, whispering.

"He is Dr. Yuan Hao, the chief physician of the Reproductive Center of Jingzhou Hospital."

"Hmm! That's quite a lineup!"

Qin Suisui nodded. She only brought Yue Hongxin with her to this court hearing.

The group from Jingzhou Hospital numbered about a dozen people, while their side only had four people, making them appear somewhat disadvantaged.

The four people entered the elevator, and the group from Jingzhou Hospital followed them in.

The two groups were clearly separated; in the crowded elevator, the group from Jingzhou Hospital even avoided eye contact with each other.

Fan Jing stared intently at the representative from Jingzhou Hospital across from her. If she weren't in the courtroom, she would have loved to rush over and fight with him.

"How could your Jingzhou hospital have the nerve to do such a thing? Have you lost your conscience?"

"We've been disappointed for so many years, and you've done these heartless things, and now you're even blaming us. You're worse than pigs and dogs."

Fan Jing became increasingly sorrowful as she spoke, her voice choked with sobs as she sobbed in her accusations.

The staff at Jingzhou Hospital all lowered their heads. From a personal perspective, they did feel guilty, but from the hospital's perspective, they could not ignore this feeling. They could only pretend not to see it.

Seeing that the people at Jingzhou Hospital didn't dare to utter a sound, Qin Suisui knew that they had made up their minds, so she gestured to Yue Hongxin to comfort Fan Jing.

Since the other party has no sense of shame, no amount of tears will help; they will only damage your relationship.

Fan Jing's emotions only calmed down slightly when the trial began.

According to procedure, Qin Suisui, as the plaintiff's lawyer, presented the entire background and consequences of the incident to the court, as well as the impact and losses the incident had on the plaintiff's family.

"Respected judge and court clerk, my client and his family have given everything they have, both emotionally and materially, to our child. The emotional sacrifices, in particular, are immeasurable in monetary terms..."

The opposing lawyer was experienced and adept at providing testimony in response to the plaintiff's accusations.

He pointed out directly: "As lawyers, we sympathize with the plaintiff's suffering in this case, but as lawyers, we only accept evidence. The plaintiff cannot provide evidence of whether the children she raised were switched over the past ten years..."

Hearing the harsh words from the Jingzhou Hospital staff, Fan Jing's anger, which she had managed to suppress, flared up again.

She angrily pointed at the Jingzhou Hospital staff and berated them, her emotions so intense that she almost caused the bailiffs to flee.

Looking at the judge's solemn face and Qin Lu's furrowed brows, Fan Jing realized after a while that her approach and attitude would only be detrimental to their outcome.
