Chapter 91 Kinship

As soon as Qin Suisui reached the second floor, she heard Aunt Wang's shrill shouting from upstairs.

She glanced at the house that once belonged to Zeng's mother, now inhabited by strangers, with last year's couplet still pasted on the door.

Zeng's older brother got married and bought a house in Haishi last year. Because he had not paid into the housing provident fund for five years, he was not eligible to take out a loan to buy a house in Haishi.

The woman was pressuring him to buy a house and get married, so Zeng's brother was so worried that he had to ask his mother and others for help.

After much deliberation, Zeng's mother and Qi's father had no choice but to sell their property in the oilfield community and raise enough money to buy Zeng's older brother a fully paid-off wedding house in Shanghai.

With their only property in Nanshi sold, Zeng's mother and Qi's father had no choice but to move to Haishi and live with Zeng's older brother and his wife.

She has always kept in touch with Zeng's mother, and in their occasional phone calls, one can hear the helplessness Zeng's mother feels about life in Haishi.

The passage of time not only isolates those we dislike, but also gradually distances us from those we cherish.

She stood in front of her own door, which had been replaced with the latest fingerprint lock. It seemed that life wasn't as boring as her father had complained about.

"Ding-dong~"

The doorbell rang, and the two people who were arguing stopped abruptly.

Who's coming so late?

Wang Fang frowned and walked towards the foyer.

He peered through the peephole, his expression changed, and he muttered angrily.

"Qin Suisui~"

Who is it?

Seeing that Wang Fang had been peering through the cat's eye for a long time without saying a word, Qin Zhen couldn't help but raise his voice and ask.

"Who could it be but your eldest daughter who hasn't come home in years?"

Wang Fang muttered under her breath, annoyed, but the moment she opened the door, a smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Sui Sui, why are you only getting home now? Your dad has been worried about you since this morning. He even had a fight with me just now, asking me why I didn't contact you by letter."

"Aunt Wang!" Qin Suisui smiled, walked around the woman blocking the doorway, and entered the living room.

She saw Qin's father looking down for his slippers.

"dad!"

Sigh~ Sigh~

Qin Zhen put on the slippers that Wang Fang had just kicked far away and walked over with a delighted expression.

"Sui Sui, have you had dinner yet? We just braised some beef yesterday, Dad will make you a bowl of beef noodles."

"good!"

Qin Suisui didn't stand on ceremony at all; she was indeed quite hungry.

"Snap!"

She heard the sound of the door being opened quickly, and Qin Weiwei came out of her room.

"elder sister!"

Qin Suisui nodded with a slight smile.

"Sister, let me help you with your suitcase."

Qin Weiwei walked quickly to her side and reached out to pull the suitcase her sister had placed aside.

"Sister, let me put it in your room for you."

Before Qin Suisui could speak, she grabbed her luggage and opened the door to Qin Suisui's former room.

Qin Weiwei reached out and turned on the room light. Through the light, Qin Suisui saw the completely renovated interior.

"Sui Sui, go to your room and rest for a while. Dad will make you some beef noodles right now."

Seeing that her two daughters got along well, Qin Zhen happily went to the kitchen.

Wang Fang couldn't bear to see her daughter being so attentive to Qin Suisui, so she suppressed her anger and returned to the master bedroom to continue packing the things she needed to prepare for New Year's Eve.

"Sister, look."

Qin Weiwei happily made way for her sister to come in.

"Dad had someone redecorate your room, do you like it?"

She watched her sister's expression intently, and only when her sister nodded did she laugh out loud.

"Sister, I chose this bed, and also~"

Qin Suisui listened with a smile as Weiwei introduced the items in the room to her one by one, explaining which ones she had chosen.

She didn't feel much love or hate for her younger sister.

Aunt Wang's maternal love for Qin Weiwei was suffocating; she was always urging her daughter on, wanting her to surpass her.

Under that kind of extreme maternal love, Qin Weiwei's mental world is probably incomplete.

Blood ties cannot be erased, but she only wishes to stay far away from them, occasionally exchange information, and show superficial kinship during holidays!

Seeing that her sister only smiled and didn't say anything, Qin Weiwei felt a little uneasy. She scratched her head and said awkwardly.

"Sister, you rest for a while, I'll go out first."

Qin Suisui glanced at the closed door, then turned around to look at the room's layout, finding it somewhat amusing.

Apart from the bed and desk that Qin Weiwei chose, everything was in a girly pink.

She didn't understand the meaning of Qin's father's actions. She was an adult woman who had long passed the stage of lacking fatherly love.

The past is real, and no matter what, her heart remains steadfast.

After clearing her mind of her worries, Qin Suisui opened her suitcase and hung the clothes she had brought back one by one in the closet.

Before the clothes were even hung up, my phone rang.

Her hand paused, her heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly remembered the instructions that her senior brother Huo had given her before she got on the bus.

Oh no, she forgot! She slapped her forehead in frustration and picked up her phone to answer the call.

"Senior brother, I'm sorry, I just got home and was about to unpack my luggage before letting you know."

In any case, apologizing first to express remorse is Qin Suisui's consistent and unwavering persona.

But why does she feel such a strong sense of guilt?

"Okay! Whatever makes you happy!"

Qin Suisui was momentarily at a loss for words when she heard the phrase "As long as you're happy."

However, what Senior Brother Huo said next made her breathe a sigh of relief.

"When are you going back to Huating? Have you booked your train ticket yet? Do you need me to book it for you?"

"Me~"

Qin Suisui didn't know how to answer. She had just arrived in Nancheng. Was it too early to start booking her return ticket now?
