Chapter 19: Ice-type Psychic

Qi Xing did not stay in this village for long.

After collecting enough supplies, Qi Xing threw Jiang Zhaosu's rations and his own goods into the back seat of the car, and set off on his journey again with Jiang Zhaosu.

He was in such a hurry that Jiang Zhaosu felt like a ghost was chasing them.

Knowing that Jiang Zhaosu could draw, Qi Xing found paper and pen for Jiang Zhaosu and told her that she could draw or write any other ideas on the paper.

Only then did Jiang Zhaosu realize that he could communicate with Qi Xing through writing.

But Jiang Zhaosu held the ballpoint pen in his hand, hesitated for a long time looking at the white paper, and ultimately did not write.

If he had thought of this method at the beginning, Jiang Zhaosu might have told Qi Xing without hesitation that he was actually a human.

But after experiencing the various events that happened in the past two days, Jiang Zhaosu's three views were rapidly collapsing and reshaping.

She now feels that she is no longer a human being.

She has no control over her zombie craving for blood and must eat humans to stay alive.

Because of this, she has fundamentally betrayed humanity.

Secondly, Qi Xing is not a good person in the traditional sense.

He was swift and decisive in his attacks, showing no mercy at all.

It was obvious that he spared her life not out of mercy, but because he thought she was interesting.

Qi Xing's attitude towards her was completely different from that of a peer of equal status.

Qi Xing treated her like a pet. When he was in a good mood, he would coax her and give her meat. When he was in a bad mood, he could kill her at any time.

Based on his observation of Qi Xing over the past two days, Jiang Zhaosu discovered that Qi Xing didn't talk much in front of outsiders.

Qi Xing would nag in front of her. Jiang Zhaosu thought that part of the reason was that as a zombie, she could only howl and could not tell everyone what Qi Xing said to her.

While Qi Xing was driving, he said a lot of things to her out of boredom. Jiang Zhaosu thought most of them were just men talking to themselves and didn't take them to heart.

What if there was Qi Xing's dark history in it, and Qi Xing knew that she could write, and was worried that she would leak the secret, so what if he killed her?

They each had a corpse and seemed to have a close relationship, but in fact they were just using each other. At best, they were a pair of people who didn't know each other well and there was no need for them to communicate too much.

Jiang Zhaosu thought about it for a while and finally decided to play dumb. He scribbled a few words on the paper, pretended to lose interest, and threw the paper and pen aside.

Qi Xing glanced at her like this and sighed helplessly: "Oh my stupid Fugui, he is so stupid after becoming a zombie. Was he illiterate when he was alive?"

“…”

Jiang Zhaosu, who was once the best student in the school, resisted the urge to show his teeth at Qi Xing, and turned his head angrily to the window to admire the scenery.

Actually, there is nothing interesting outside the window.

The sky never cleared up, and dark clouds pressed down. The mountains and farmlands were corroded by the acid rain that fell from time to time, and most of the plants in them had died.

At a glance, the gray sky and the yellow-brown farmland are connected. The once vibrant land is now empty and desolate, which makes people feel depressed and suffocated.

Fortunately, Jiang Zhaosu is a zombie, not a human.

So this desolate scene did not have any psychological impact on her.

But as Jiang Zhaosu looked, he realized that there seemed to be something wrong with the road they were driving on.

Didn’t Qi Xing say this morning that they were going to Area A in the south?

But Jiang Zhaosu looked at the direction their vehicle was heading.

This is obviously not the South!

Jiang Zhaosu turned his head and looked at Qi Xing who was driving.

Qi Xing held the steering wheel with one hand and a piece of paper in the other. On the paper was the map route to District A of Xishui City that he had asked a survivor in the village just now.

"What's wrong with this map? It says we should go right, but why is there no road now?"

Qi Xing stepped on the brakes, looked up at the mountain blocking the road not far away, then lowered his head and shook the map in his hand, asking doubtfully, "Are we not there yet?"

Jiang Zhaosu leaned over to look at the map in Qi Xing's hand, then turned his head back and leaned out of the car window to look back.

She vaguely remembered that she and Qi Xing had passed a fork in the road twenty minutes ago, but Qi Xing decisively chose the left path that was opposite to the map, and said confidently: "The map is drawn this way, it must be correct!"

Jiang Zhaosu found that he seemed to have finally grasped one of Qi Xing's weaknesses.

Qi Xing, are you a person with poor direction?

No wonder the man is so capable. He can obviously survive on his own, but he still takes the risk of being backstabbed and joins the psychic team.

Is it because there is no one else around that Qi Xing can’t reach the door of the survivors’ base?

Jiang Zhaosu was silent, hesitating whether to tell Qi Xing that they seemed to have taken the wrong path.

Before she could open her mouth, Qi Xing, who had an extraordinary sense of direction, suddenly realized it. He threw the map between the two of them and said, "I know, the path on the left leads up the mountain!"

As he said this, he stepped on the accelerator and drove firmly towards a mountain road in the east.

Jiang Zhaosu: “…”

It was such a narrow and hidden mountain path, only thanks to Qi Xing's good eyesight he could see it.

This person is not only directionally challenged, but also a stubborn one.

If Qi Xing continues driving like this, it will take an unknown amount of time to reach Area A.

But it doesn’t matter to Jiang Zhaosu whether he can reach Area A or not.

The more survivors there are in a place, the more people with special abilities there will be. This is actually very disadvantageous to Jiang Zhaosu, who is a zombie.

Who knows if a person with special abilities will suddenly appear from somewhere and smash her to pieces with one slap.

It would be best if Qi Xing could never get there in this lifetime.

As soon as this thought came into Jiang Zhaosu's mind, he smelled a strange scent at the tip of his nose.
