“Qianying.” These two short words seemed to carry a thousand words. Yun Che walked lightly and slowly to Qianye Ying’er’s side.
Qianye Ying'er sat alone, quietly beneath the green willows by the lake. She tossed irregular pebbles randomly onto the tranquil surface of the lake. Each time a pebble fell into the water, ripples spread across the surface, their spreading ripples perfectly matching the fluctuating state of her mind.
"You've changed." Qianye Ying'er didn't turn around, but continued to throw the stone. Her tone was a little complicated. "Do you still remember what the Demon Queen said? She said that everyone in this world is your enemy! You must never truly fall in love with anyone in this world! But look at you now, you've already forgotten those words."
Yun Che remained silent as he sat down beside her and whispered, "Perhaps you're right. I have indeed changed somewhat. But I have never forgotten the Demon Queen's instructions. It's just that you've just arrived in this world and don't quite understand the actual conditions of the Abyss. This world isn't as evil as you imagine. The people here are actually very simple and kind. If I have the chance, I'd like to take you to see the true appearance of the Abyss."
"Faced with such a pure world, how could I possibly have the heart to destroy it? Moreover, I now stand at the pinnacle of this world, possessing the immense power to control everything. The divine realm will no longer face any crisis. So, why must I destroy this world and bring about the untimely deaths of all its inhabitants?"
Yun Che's transformation wasn't a sudden one. Through long interactions and encounters with the Abyss's native inhabitants, he gradually came to understand the Abyss' true nature. He skillfully utilized the Abyss's various resources, achieving his goals step by step. And in this process, he unknowingly developed a new affection for the Abyss. Therefore, even at the final, crucial moment, he refused to abandon this world.
"Perhaps what you said is right, but how can you be sure that everyone in this abyss will be friendly towards the people of the God Realm? When you return to the God Realm soon and face the inevitable friction between the two worlds, how do you plan to deal with it?" Qianye Ying'er frowned slightly and asked rhetorically.
"There will always be a solution." Yun Che sighed helplessly. He knew full well that such friction and contradictions were bound to arise. After all, every world had such problems; they were determined by human nature and could not be completely eradicated.
"Forget it, let's not talk about that for now. I'm quite interested in the story between you and Hua Caili. I want to hear what happened between you after you came to the abyss." Qianye Ying'er said as she slowly rolled up the corner of her clothes, revealing a pair of flawless legs as white as mutton-fat jade. Then she gently placed them in the water, casually stirring up ripples.
"To me, she was originally the key to open the 'Gateway to the Kingdom of God'. When I first arrived in the Abyss, I knew she was a goddess from the Kingdom of God who had gone out to gain experience. Since then, I have intentionally or unintentionally created opportunities for us to encounter her. Finally, after repeated inadvertent encounters and long-term companionship, she gradually developed feelings for me." Yun Che said calmly.
"Hmph, don't you have any feelings for her at all? She's so beautiful, how could you let this opportunity go so easily?" Qianye Ying'er couldn't help but interrupt Yun Che, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, with a hint of teasing in her snort.
“Have you become so bold and presumptuous during my absence?” Yun Che’s voice suddenly turned cold, carrying a hint of unquestionable majesty.
“Hmph.” Qianye Ying’er turned her head away in a huff, silently digesting Yun Che’s words. However, she fiddled with her jade feet in the water even more vigorously, causing the splashes to become increasingly chaotic.
“Actually, the time I spent with her wasn’t very long, just a few months. After that, I rarely saw her again.” Yun Che paused and continued.
"Wait! Are you saying that you haven't had any physical contact with her in the past few years?" Qianye Ying'er's eyes suddenly became sharp, as if she had discovered some incredible and shocking secret.
Yun Che looked calm as he slowly nodded and said, "Over the past few years, I have been hiding in the dark as the Mist Emperor and have not publicly appeared in front of the people of the Divine Kingdom."
"..." A trace of struggle flashed across Qianye Ying'er's face. She was deeply conflicted, unsure whether or not she should tell Yun Che about her suspicions—that he might have been cuckolded.
The image of Long Bai's collapse after being cuckolded was still vividly etched in Qianye Ying'er's mind. She couldn't bear to see Yun Che being kept in the dark and suffer such humiliation, but she was also worried that if she spoke out, Yun Che would become like Long Bai, heartbroken and driven to paranoia.
The images of the two children kept appearing in Qianye Ying'er's mind. They looked no more than a year old. According to the timeline Yun Che described, there was no way these children could be his.
After this analysis, Qianye Ying'er felt a little relieved, and her jealousy towards Hua Caili also subsided a bit, replaced by a hint of shame.
“What’s wrong with you? Are you hiding something from me?” Yun Che keenly noticed the conflicted look on Qianye Ying’er’s face, as well as the way she seemed to be hesitating to speak.
"Nothing, I just suddenly thought of something interesting." Qianye Ying'er forced a faint smile, but ultimately decided to swallow her words.
Humph, it is really interesting that the dignified Demon Lord could be cuckolded. I really want to see who that man is.
