Chapter 123 Don't Leave Him a Drop of Water (1/2)

"Cannibalism?!"

Chu Chenyin's heart skipped a beat.

Even though the granaries are full of food, they still do such a heinous thing. It can no longer be described as humane.

Sure enough, some people can be scarier than ghosts.

She frowned and continued to ask, "Old man, you have been to the Zhou Mansion, do you still remember the topography of the mansion?"

The old man looked at her in confusion, "Why do you ask that, girl?"

Chu Chenyin deliberately showed a worried look, "Old man, you don't know, my sister was also taken in just now. From what you said, it is estimated that she is in danger. I want to take my husband to the mansion to find her out."

When the old man heard that she was going to save someone, he immediately became enthusiastic and said, "Remember, I remember."

After that, he took out a stick and drew a simple map on a layer of yellow soil.

Fu Yanting squatted aside and copied the entire map in his mind.

After the old man finished painting, he pointed to a hidden place in the backyard and said, "This is the Zhou family's reservoir!"

Manager Zhou has always drunk water from heaven, so he has the habit of storing water in reservoirs all year round. Otherwise, in the event of a drought like this, they would not be able to hold out even if they had more money and food.

Chu Chenyin looked at it carefully. The reservoir was quite large and the water in it was estimated to be enough for an average family to use for a year or so.

All we can say is that fate is unfair, and a wicked person like Manager Zhou was able to take advantage of this loophole.

Then the old man pointed to a few more places, including the woodshed where the woman was imprisoned and the warehouse where food was stored.

He pointed to the last hidden corner in the east and said, "I don't know what this place is for, but there are a lot of guards around it."

With so many people guarding it, there must be something valuable inside.

Chu Chenyin listened and looked up at Fu Yanting.

The two looked at each other, and even though they didn't say it out loud, they both understood what the other meant.

"Thank you so much, old man." Chu Chenyin stood up and took out the dry food and a bottle of water prepared for the journey from the bag behind him and handed them to him.

The old man took the dry food in his hand and looked at it without any interest. "I have lost my house, my home, and now even my daughter. I don't know what's the point of living."

Chu Chenyin said slowly: "Old man, don't say that. Your daughter's spirit in heaven wouldn't want you to give up on yourself. As long as you live, there is hope."

The old man shook his head and put the dry food in his pocket without eating. He looked out and said, "It's getting dark. Go and save your sister, or it will be too late."

Chu Chenyin bowed to him to express his gratitude, and then left with Fu Yanting.
