After hearing Master Shi's instructions, the servants opened the bags of "rice" together.
Waiting for the yellow sand inside to appear.
Their eyes widened. "What...what...is going on?"
Lord Shi rushed over and dug into the yellow sand with his hands, "Where is the rice you stole? Where is the rice?"
The children rubbed their eyes and said, "Master, I remember that what we brought in last night was rice."
Lord Shi turned around and slapped each of them, pointed at the pile of yellow sand with a trembling finger, and shouted hysterically: "I'm asking you for rice!"
The servants all knelt down and said, "Master, we don't know what's going on either!"
Lord Shi was so angry that he was gasping for breath.
The housekeeper of the mansion whispered, "Master, do you think we were deceived by the rice shop across the street? There is no rice in their warehouse, only yellow sand."
Lord Shi glared at him angrily, "Nonsense, their rice shop needs a certain amount of rice to sell every day, where else can they put it if not in the rice warehouse?!"
After saying this, he turned around and said to the boys fiercely, "Tell me! When you stole the rice last night, did you not open the bag to look?"
In order to avoid being blamed by Master Shi, the children said in unison: "We opened it and saw that it was full of white rice."
Lord Shi raised his eyes and said, "Look, they all said it was rice."
The butler was speechless for a moment.
Mr. Shi continued walking inside, "I think the person who stole the rice last night swapped the rice."
The servants all nodded, "Yes, sir, that must be the case. That thief was really bold. Not only did he steal our rice, he also replaced it all with sand."
Mr. Shi was so angry that he knocked heavily on the door beside him, "Damn thief, I'm going to report to the police!"
The housekeeper sighed and said, "Master, we have run out of rice in this warehouse. How can we do business?"
Lord Shi raised his hand and said, "Go, go to the farmer and buy some more rice."
The housekeeper said worriedly, "We have already bought all the rice from the farmers. If we buy more, it will take until next autumn to harvest."
Now that winter is approaching, where can they buy rice?
After hearing this, Lord Shi became flustered and waved his hand, "Go, close the shop for me first, let me think about it."
After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and rushed out of the house, intending only to report to the authorities and get the rice back.
When he arrived at the door, he found that the rice shop opposite was full of people.
Mr. Shi was shocked. He grabbed the waiter who was following him and asked, "Didn't you take away all their rice? Look! What are they selling? Is it rice?"
