Chapter 7: Leaving the Capital Quickly (2/2)

"Yes, Dad!"

Everyone in the house responded loudly, changed their clothes, and got on the carriage in an orderly manner.

In order to travel light, they had only three carriages. The first two were occupied by the Fu family, and the last one was for their companion.

The coachman who drove the carriage was one of Mr. Fu's former confidants in the army. He dressed in ordinary farmer's clothes, imitated the way they delivered vegetables, and found a small road out of the capital and left.

Fu Yanting found this path by chance. It is a small hill next to the river. Following the foot of the hill, you pass a maple forest and then go through a rock tunnel to reach the outside of the city.

Along the way, the Fu family was terrified. If the emperor sent people to kill them at this time, they would all be finished.

Chu Chenyin sat in the carriage and felt the tight breathing of Fu Kanghong and Fu Xingcheng.

This tense atmosphere made her heart beat faster.

Although she had traveled through time, she was still an ant in this world. A sharp knife could cut her throat, causing her to struggle in pain until she could no longer breathe.

She knew best the feeling of death.

At this moment, Fu Yanchen suddenly stuffed a small lychee into her hand and said with his usual defiant tone, "Don't be afraid. It's not that easy for the dog emperor to kill us."

Chu Chenyin came back to her senses, took the lychee from his hand, put it in her mouth, and nimbly peeled off the skin with her teeth before eating it. "I'm not afraid, I'm just a little hungry."

She was really hungry.

The original body had not eaten for two or three days before she got married. She had taken two bites of roast goose when she lifted the veil, but later she was busy stocking up, and now she was starving.

Hearing that she was hungry, Fu Qianghong and Fu Xingcheng also came out of the tense atmosphere and each gave her a meat pie.

"Sister-in-law, we are in a hurry. Eat this first."

Chu Chenyin quickly took it over and said, "Thank you, second brother, and thank you, third sister."

After she finished speaking, she picked up the meat pie and started to eat it ravenously.

The carriage moved forward quickly, with the interior bumping along the way. When a hint of pale sky appeared in the sky, they were all out of the city safely.

However, it was too early to leave the city to escape the pursuit, so they had to hurry north.

With the first rays of sunlight in the morning.

Prime Minister Wan led a group of soldiers and guards to surround the mansion and then rushed in. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
