Age of Empires From Scratch - Chapter 55

[Chapter 55 The Calm Before the Storm]

The bronze dragons of Azeroth are mainly responsible for protecting the timeline, while the eternal dragons are a group of dragons that specialize in destroying the timeline. In a sense, it seems a bit similar to what David and Fording are going to do.

But if you want to be more specific, there is still a difference – what David and Fording are going to do will not damage the integrity of Azeroth’s “history”: Fording will still save Azeroth, and the various races will still have to fight the Lich King. This kind of battle is inevitable. After all, the various races in Azeroth do not want to be completely wiped out by the Scourge.

In the long run, the various races in Azeroth will still have a decisive battle with the Burning Legion. These things will not change fundamentally just because Fording goes to save a few refugees from Lordaeron or a few elves in Quel’Thalas.

Therefore, there is no need for the bronze dragons to trouble David.

Lying on the bed, I fell asleep in my wild thoughts. It was still dark when I opened my eyes again. I had a

good rest recently and was not very tired. The quality of sleep was high, so David did not need to sleep for too long to recover to the best condition.

After getting up and packing, David decided to do some simple morning exercises. As a result, as soon as he walked out of the cabin, he saw Fording carrying a simple bag and about to set off.

“So early?”

“You got up early too.” Fording greeted David: “Since you are awake, you might as well set off directly.” “

Have a good trip!”

“No need to wait for me to come back for dinner. I brought a lot of dry food and plan to travel more.” Fording waved his hand, said goodbye to David and left Winter Village.

Watching Fording’s figure disappear, David stretched his body and started running around the village.

To his surprise, he found that Winter Village, which was still dark, was much more lively than he expected.

“Watch your left.”

A crisp voice sounded in his ears, and then a figure with a strong wind passed by at high speed from the left. Although it was still dim, David had excellent eyesight. After this period of training and strengthening, he could still see clearly even in a relatively dark environment.

From the fluttering golden hair and the agile back, he recognized that the person who just rushed over was Sharon Rogers, but before he could say hello to her, she had already run far away. He

continued to run around the village. As the surrounding land was gradually reclaimed into farmland and planted with food crops, mainly potatoes, the “land area” of Winter Village became much larger. It was no longer like before, with just a few houses making up the entire village. After

running for a while, David came to the bank of the Winter River and checked the tap water station of Winter Village by the way. It was a small house equipped with pumping equipment, water purification equipment, generator sets and other equipment. It was built with cement bricks and soil to ensure that it was strong and durable enough.

There were solar panels on the roof and two wind turbines that looked like windmills standing next to it.

This small house was the most “advanced” place in Winter Village. Compared with the primitive pastoral scenery around it, it stood out.

After checking the situation at the water station, David walked along the river for a while, and casually released a Holy Light spell to stun a fat winter river fish. It must be said that this kind of spell, which can “explode” directly on the target after locking it within a certain range, is really convenient to use.

When frying fish, there is no need to worry about missing the target! However, if Fording saw David using the Holy Light spell to fry fish, I don’t know what his reaction would be.

Standing by the river and looking at the river fish floating on the water, it looks a bit like a perch, but it is much larger. David was about to go into the water to get the fish back when he saw Squirtle walking over.

“Squirtle, help me get the fish back.”

Squirtle looked at David, but did not immediately go into the water, but stared at David: “Squirtle?”

“I’ll let Mark make you that

kind of sandwich.” After promising a reward, Squirtle went into the water with satisfaction, and then brought the fat river fish back to the shore.

David took the river fish, and then clapped his hands with the Squirtle who had climbed ashore: “Let’s go back to the village for breakfast.”

“Jenny!”

As for running, David had thrown it aside. He walked through the farmland and soon returned to the “village”.

Looking at the blacksmith shop in front of him, he found that the little blacksmith Will had also gotten up and was tidying up his blacksmith shop.

“Good morning, Will.”

“Good morning, David.” Will turned his head to look at David, and then looked at the Squirtle next to him. Although it was not the first time he saw it, he still felt amazing every time he saw this creature: “Morning, Squirtle.” “Jenny

!”

“Are you ready to start working?”

“Yes, but we need to do some preparations first. When we eat later, we can ask everyone what weapons they are used to using.” Yesterday, David specifically mentioned that he wanted Will to help build weapons for the people in the village. He would start the preliminary preparations now: “Today’s breakfast is fish?” Has the

food reserves in the village been eaten up? As the village chief, David actually had to get up early to catch fish for everyone? But if there was only one fish, it would not be enough, right?

“It’s just an extra meal.” He didn’t even think about whether to cook the fish in soup or steam it.

Before he finished speaking, he heard another voice beside him: “Watch the left!”

A gust of wind passed by, but this time Sharon did not run away and disappear, but slowed down or even stopped directly.

Turning her head, a few strands of golden hair stuck to her forehead, reflecting a faint glow against the rising sun.

“Why don’t you run?” Sharon’s breath was very steady. She just ran around the village a few times. Sweating a little was the limit. This amount of exercise was just a warm-up for her.

When I saw David out for a morning run earlier, I thought it would be fun, but I didn’t expect that the village chief only ran half a circle and then disappeared.

“I was just looking at the situation around the village. I came back if there was nothing unusual.” It was definitely not to avoid being frantically told to “pay attention to the left” by the second-generation Captain America that he had terminated his morning run plan in advance.

In order to prevent people from discovering his true thoughts, David decisively changed the subject: “By the way, I just happened to meet you. Tell Will what weapons you are good at using, and give us all the details, so that Will can help you make one for you.”

“Oh? There is such a good thing?”

“You should know the situation in the village, right?”

When David mentioned this, Sharon understood that this quiet and peaceful little village would face a storm next.

It has only been a short time since she came to this place, but because Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter are here, Sharon gradually likes this peaceful place. She really doesn’t want a special place like Winter Village to disappear like this.

She decided to help earlier, but she ignored the issue of weapons for a while. Thinking of how she fell into a passive position because of underestimating the enemy during the competition with David, she felt it necessary to get herself a handy weapon.

“Lance and shield. In addition to having a sharp tip, the lance must be heavy enough! As for the shield…”

Sharon immediately told Will a lot of requirements, which confused the little blacksmith.

“Lance? Shield?”

Looking at Sharon’s slender figure, even though he knew she was not an ordinary person, he still couldn’t associate her with these two weapons.

David continued to move forward with the river fish. As the sun rose, the village became more lively. Mark, who was currently in charge of the village’s meals, had also gotten up and was making breakfast. After

handing the river fish to Mark, David told him what Fording was busy with during this period, so Fording might come back from time to time to eat and get food and water.

“Then I will reserve some food and prepare some biscuits and canned food that are easy to carry.” The bagged food in the Mars base had long been eaten up, but Laura sent a lot of canned food, compressed biscuits, chocolate and other things. The quantity was not large and was mainly used for emergency.

Not only for the people in Winter Village, but also for her own adventures. Now she can take some out and prepare it for Fording.

“Well, in addition to this, there is also the thing I agreed with you before.”

“What is it? Oh, you said to infuse me with holy light?” Mark immediately became excited. He had been looking forward to it for a long time. He finally had the opportunity to experience what it felt like to use holy light.

David was about to tell Mark that Mark must learn some basic holy light spells in the next few days. He was not required to become a qualified paladin or priest immediately, but at least he had to have the ability to protect himself.

He did not expect Mark to play a big role in the event of a conflict, but at least he should not lose his life when the other party used some conspiracy or sneak attack – although David did not think that the Forrest family would use such a despicable means to deal with a civilian like him, it was still necessary to take some precautions in advance.

What if the other party was really such a despicable person? He could not pin his hopes on the moral standards of the enemy.

After breakfast, David injected some holy light into Mark’s body and began to teach Mark how to mobilize and use this holy light energy.

Thanks to Laura’s recent study in this area, David learned from Laura how to teach Mark, so even if Fording and Laura are not around, Mark doesn’t have to figure it out on his own.

After the basic theoretical knowledge is taught, the next step is to rely on constant practice. How to use holy light to heal and attack enemies can only be mastered through hard training. Relying on the holy light in the body to protect oneself and crazy training to squeeze the body’s potential is a passive effect, and now Mark can enjoy this benefit.

A few days later, although he has not yet mastered the correct way to mobilize the holy light, Mark feels that his body has become much better.

It was at this time that David was jogging in the morning again, and he actually found a body in the northeast of the village, at the edge of the forest.
