Qiu Shui was the only one left in the house.
After writing breakfast, she returned to her bedroom, leaned on her desk, and began to conceive her new novel, writing with great enthusiasm. Just as she was engrossed in her writing, a knock sounded at the door.
She didn't reply at first, but when the knocking came again, she came out of the bedroom.
Who is it?
She asked towards the outer door.
“I am your mother’s friend.”
Upon hearing that the other person knew her mother, Qiu Shui reached out and opened the door.
A young man wearing sunglasses and a ducktail cap was standing in front of the door.
The young man looked to be under thirty, and because he was wearing sunglasses, he exuded an invisible pressure.
Qiu Shui was taken aback, wondering to herself how the young man in front of her could possibly be her mother's friend.
"Are you sure she's my mother's friend?"
Qiu Shui blocked the doorway, frowning as she asked.
"Your name is Qiu Shui, right? I've seen your picture in the newspaper. You're a beautiful writer."
The young man didn't force his way into the house; he adjusted his sunglasses and smiled.
Having experienced her father's espionage case at the Hongqi Factory, Qiu Shui developed a guarded attitude towards any stranger. She didn't respond warmly to the smiles of young people either. "What's my mother's name?"
"Jiang Yuping".
The young man blurted it out.
"How do you know my mom? I know everyone at her workplace, but I've never seen you before."
After Jiang Yuping returned to Beijing, she was transferred to a military hospital near her home.
Over the years, Qiu Shui would visit her mother in the hospital from time to time. She knew almost everyone around her mother, who were either doctors or nurses, but she had never seen the young man in front of her before.
The young man wearing sunglasses, upon seeing Qiu Shui questioning him, forcefully pushed his way into the Qiu family home.
Next step,
He pulled out a dagger, held it up to Qiu Shui's eyes, and threatened, "Shut up if you don't want to die."
