Chapter 79 Sweet Honey

Qiuyue clutched her chest as she said:

"Liang Guoping, my heart aches so much! I can't breathe, it's all because you can't speak human language."

Yes, Akizuki is right.

When Liang Guoping said that the police had already arrested her mother, she felt a pang of pain in her heart.

At that moment, she seemed to sense that something was about to happen to her mother.

Although this feeling arose from her subconscious, the various abnormalities her parents had shown recently, as well as her brother's unusual behavior last night, gave the perceptive Qiuyue an ominous feeling.

At this moment, however, she could not tell her boyfriend, Liang Guoping, how she felt.

This feeling of heartache lasted only about ten seconds, and I quickly recovered.

"It's all your fault! It's all your fault!"

Once she recovered, Qiuyue clenched her two small fists and punched Liang Guoping in the chest.

Liang Guoping was completely bewildered after being beaten.

"Okay, it's my fault, it's my fault. Go ahead and hit me, as long as it makes you feel better."

As Liang Guoping spoke, he took the opportunity to pull Qiuyue into his arms.

Qiu Yue didn't back down and let Liang Guoping hold her tightly.

"Hey, let go, let go, I won't let you touch me."

Despite Qiuyue's cries, Liang Guoping did not let go.

"Okay, okay, Qiuyue, I'll hug you for a bit, but I won't touch you."

Qiu Yuejian wasn't angry at all; in fact, she felt a sweet sensation in her heart as Liang Guoping embraced her.

However, she suddenly looked up at Liang Guomin and blurted out:

"Liang Guoping, if it's really as you say, and the police arrested my mother, will you still like me, will you still love me?"

Liang Guoping had one arm around Qiu Yue's slender waist and was stroking her hair with the other.

"Qiuyue, what nonsense are you talking about? How could your mother be arrested by the Ministry of Public Security? Fine, even if your mother was arrested, I will still like you and love you."

Then, Qiuyue went even further and blurted out:

"What if my mother was the murderer who killed the barber? Would you still like me and love me?"

As if bitten by a snake, Liang Guoping pushed Qiu Yue away and stared at her face in astonishment.

"Qiuyue, what's wrong with you? How could your mother possibly be the murderer of the barber? Have you been watching Sherlock Holmes all day and gone mad? How can you talk badly about your own mother like that? Ugh, I really don't know what to say about you---."

Qiuyue knew she was talking nonsense, so she pouted.

“Liang Guoping, I have a strange feeling, I can’t quite put my finger on it. Besides, theoretically speaking, my mother had contact with that barber after all. If there was contact and connection, she could be a suspect. Otherwise, why would the police question my mother?”

Liang Guoping stepped forward and gently embraced Qiuyue again.

He patted Qiuyue on the back with concern.

"Qiuyue, you've really been watching too much Sherlock Holmes. You're making wild deductions, being neurotic, and going crazy. Your mother was a doctor, a weak woman. Why would she kill that barber? Besides, the barber was someone from the streets of Yushui Township. He had absolutely no connection to us. Alright, alright, stop talking nonsense."

Qiu Yue looked at Liang Guoping, her brows furrowed, seemingly lost in thought.

"Guoping, do you know that the barber was poisoned to death? Tell me, what kind of people would use poison? Would ordinary people use poison? Of course not. But my mother is a doctor. Only doctors know how to use medicine, right?"

Liang Guoping was surprised again; he didn't know which of Qiu Yue's answers was wrong.

He wasn't bewildered at this moment; instead, he stared at the autumn moon in horror, as if he were looking at a strange woman.

At first, everyone was just joking around, but unexpectedly, Qiuyue started seriously analyzing the case, even incorporating her own mother into the analysis and reasoning!

This wasn't just a funny thing; it made Liang Guoping suddenly have a special feeling towards Jiang Yuping.

Is this how people think? They are easily swayed by the opinions of others.

If Qiuyue hadn't analyzed the possibility of her mother committing murder in this way, Liang Guoping would never have thought that Aunt Jiang was a suspect. But after Qiuyue's analysis, he really felt that it wasn't impossible.

So,

Did I get caught up in the hype?!

The sky was overcast.

Clusters of dark clouds kept gathering together.

The waves in the Huai River rise higher and higher.

The reeds on the opposite bank swayed to one side in the wind, then bounced back due to their flexibility, returning to their original state.

Several colorful white birds flew up and down above the water, emitting clear and melodious chirps.

After a long silence, Liang Guoping looked at the autumn moon and suddenly smiled.

"Qiuyue, you're not seriously analyzing your mother, are you?"

Qiu Yue also looked at Liang Guoping and said with some worry:

"But I always feel that my parents have been acting strangely lately, and their behavior and emotions are completely different from before."

"Tell me, what's different?"

"Well, I can't really explain it, but my home feels very different from before."

Just then, several young couples from the factory hurriedly walked back from the Huai River.

Upon seeing this, Liang Guoping looked up at the sky again, sensing an impending storm, and said to Qiuyue:

"Autumn Moon, a downpour is coming, let's go back."

Qiu Yue hummed in agreement, took Liang Guoping's hand, and they ran together.

The two of them got on their bicycles and rode back along a dirt road by the river.
