Chapter 9: Don't Believe in Evil

The autumn moon shines through the tiles, and four eyes stare at the water's surface.

The tile plunged headfirst into the water with a soft thud, and then there was no more sound.

"I refuse to believe it, I can't possibly skip a long string of stones!"

Unconvinced, Qiuyue bent down, picked up a tile, and threw it forcefully into the water again.

Sure enough, it worked.

This time, she threw out a dozen or even twenty tiles that skipped across the water, more than Liang Guoping had just done.

"Haha, it worked! It worked!"

Qiuyue jumped and skipped around happily, like a child.

The Hongqi Factory is located in the Orange Valley of Dayu Mountain, the highest peak of the entire Dayu Mountain, where there is no place with an altitude exceeding 300 meters.

To the west of Juzigou, a large part belongs to the Huai River basin, and another body of water is Hongze Lake. It should be said that Hongqi Factory is located at the confluence of the Huai River and Hongze Lake.

The factory has nearly two thousand employees, and when they have nothing to do or on their days off, the Huai River is a place they often go.

Especially in the summer, many young employees would take off their outer clothes, wearing only their underwear, and jump into the Huai River to swim.

Sometimes, some young female workers would follow some local fishermen and take a boat to the reed marshes on the opposite bank to catch wild birds and collect bird eggs.

In autumn, many employees would take a boat to pick water chestnuts on the water. These water chestnuts were not artificially cultivated, but were wild water chestnuts that grew naturally in the water.

Almost every worker in the factory, regardless of age or gender, knows how to skip stones.

This wasn't the first time Qiu Yue had come to the water's edge.

This wasn't her first time skipping stones.

Therefore, it's not difficult or strange to skip a string of stones.

Liang Guoping looked at Qiu Yue and smiled happily, really wanting to go up and hug her.

Since the two of them started dating without saying a word, he has never hugged Qiuyue, let alone had any contact or anything more.

After all, it was a time of pure innocence.

Boys and girls dating back then were never as open as young people in later generations!

They rarely engaged in physical infidelity before marriage.

Girls value their chastity as much as their lives, saving it for their wedding night to give to the man they love.

That's why, when Liang Guoping said he wanted to hug Qiuyue to sleep, both of them felt very awkward and didn't speak for a long time. Finally, they used slapping each other to ease their tension and shyness.

"Autumn Moon, the wind is getting stronger, are you cold?"

Liang Guoping barely made conversation.

"You idiot, what are you thinking? What's so cold about summer?"

Autumn Moon responded.

Then he bent down and picked up a piece of tile.

But this time, in the instant he bent over, Liang Guoping saw something he shouldn't have seen.

Although Qiuyue was wearing work clothes, when she bent over, a large opening appeared in the hollow of her chest.

The autumn moon suddenly appeared on the mountain and in the water.

Her chest was covered in a bright white patch.

Like beams of white light, they stung Liang Guoping's eyes, making them blurry.

Yes,

The autumn moon has faded away, but I am completely unaware of it.

She splashed water beautifully again, then looked at Liang Guoping.

"Liang Guoping, how was my skill level? Not bad, right?"

"Okay, okay, okay---".

Liang Guoping responded nervously.

His face was as red as if he had just drunk half a bottle of strong liquor.

He didn't dare to look up at Xiang Qiuyue, as if his accidental exploration of the depths of her cleavage was a fatal mistake, an invasion of the sacred territory of Qiuyue's body.

Seeing Liang Guoping's flushed face, Qiu Yue smiled and asked:

"Guoping, why is your face red?"

Liang Guoping chuckled but did not answer.

This laugh left Qiu Yue completely bewildered.

"Look at you, so silly. What's so funny? Let's go, it's getting dark, I should go home, otherwise my parents will start asking me all sorts of questions."

As Qiuyue spoke, she lifted her leg and took the first step.

A somewhat dazed Liang Guoping picked up the umbrella from the ground and followed behind.

The two quickly returned to the factory area, where they each got on their bicycles in front of the bicycle shed that had been set up there.

----

Night has fallen.

Back home, Qiuyue unlocked the door with her key, tiptoed back to her room, and hung her canvas work bag on the headboard of her bed.

She slept in one room with her younger brother Qiushou, while her two younger sisters Qiushui and Qiuchan slept in another room.

Qiuyue gently closed the door, walked over and hugged Qiushou, who was looking at a picture book, and kissed him on the cheek.

"Little brother, did Mom and Dad say anything to me?"

Qiu Shou has been holding a grudge because Qiu Jingwen wouldn't let him go out to play with his sisters and even slapped him. He also sensed that his father was in a bad mood today.

"No, Dad was really mean to my sister and me at dinner today."

Qiu Shou looked aggrieved, and tears almost welled up in his eyes.

But he didn't tell his sister about being slapped.

"Why am I being so mean to you? It must be because you two misbehaved and made Daddy angry, right?"

In Qiuyue's opinion, her father was not a fierce person, so she felt that her younger brother and sister must have done something wrong.

"I wasn't disobeying, I just wanted to go downstairs and play for a while."

“You want to go downstairs to play? Dad will scold you. I don’t believe it.”

"If you don't believe me, fine, I'm ignoring you."

As Qiu Shou spoke, he turned his head towards the bed, looking at his little picture book.

Qiuyue didn't respond, but smiled knowingly, then walked out of the room and stood in front of her parents' bedroom door.
