Chapter 95 Father Apologizes

For Qiu Chan, the fact that her sister Qiu Yue called their father Qiu Jingwen was more terrifying and unbelievable than the slap she received from her sister was even more shocking.

Qiu Jingwen was naturally surprised.

But he soon realized that it must have been his son, Qiu Yang, who had told his daughter, Qiu Yue, about his identity as a spy, and even that he had killed the barber.

He was a spy and a murderer, and his own daughter was very disrespectful to him, calling him by his first name. What could he say?

Because Qiu Jingwen closed the door after entering the room, the people having dinner in the living room could hear the conversation inside, but they couldn't make out the details.

Jiang Yuping felt strange when she saw that there was no sound coming from inside.

Qiu Jingwen looked at his daughter with a face full of helplessness and sorrow, but no anger.

He knew that his daughter calling him by his first name was already being very polite.

The daughter only called him by his name and did not say anything more offensive or extreme, which was already giving him enough face.

Qiuyue probably realized that she had done something extremely disrespectful, and tears streamed down her face.

She looked at Qiu Jingwen and said, choking back tears:

"Dad, I'm sorry, I'm an unfilial daughter. I really can't take it anymore, I'm about to break down!"

Qiu Jingwen's eyes also welled up with tears.

He couldn't blame his daughter.

It's all my fault.

If he hadn't joined that damned Kuomintang secret service for a few dollars and become a covert agent, how could the director's daughter have ever called him by his first name?!

Having nearly fifty years of life experience, Qiu Jingwen naturally understood her daughter's devastating state of mind.

"Qiuyue, I'm sorry to you, to you and your brothers and sisters, and to this family."

Qiu Jingwen almost burst into tears, her eyes red as she spoke.

Qiuyue's tears continued to fall.

She sobbed softly:

"Dad, why do you want to be such a pragmatist?"

Qiuyue originally wanted to accuse her father of being a spy, but she felt that her father's spy identity should not be known to Qiushou and Qiuchan. Moreover, Liang Damin and Wei Hong were sitting in the restaurant outside. In particular, Liang Damin was the head of the security department and the deputy leader of the investigation team for enemy agents. If they heard her say that her father was a spy, wouldn't her father be immediately exposed?

Therefore, Qiuyue temporarily changed the spy into a particularly pragmatic person.

The autumn harvest and the cicadas had long been frightened by the conversation and tears between their father and sister!

They couldn't understand why, when the older sister called their father by his first name, he not only didn't get angry or reprimand him, but also apologized to her, saying he was sorry to his sister, his brothers and sisters, and his family!

Why is this happening?

Autumn Harvest and Autumn Explanation: Sometimes gazing at the autumn scenery, sometimes at the autumn moon.

They asked nothing, and no one spoke.

But they knew something serious must have happened to this family.

After an unknown amount of time, Qiu Jingwen gazed at the autumn moon.

“Qiuyue, your Uncle Liang and Uncle Xiao are having dinner at our house right now. Let’s not talk about this now. Dad will apologize to you later.”

Overwhelmed with grief, Qiu Yue stepped forward and threw herself into Qiu Jingwen's arms.

"Dad, I'm so sorry, I'm so unfilial. You'll always be my good dad. No matter what happens to you in the future, you'll always be my most beloved dad!"

Qiu Yue almost burst into tears.

Qiu Jingwen also had tears in his eyes and was choked up, unable to speak.

After a long while, he gently patted Qiuyue's back:

"Good daughter, dear daughter, don't cry, it's Dad's fault!"

Having said that, he released Qiuyue, turned around and pulled Qiuchan into his arms, whispering:

"Qiu Chan, Dad just lost his temper with you. Dad apologizes. Your sister has something on her mind, and it's all Dad's fault. She just slapped you, so take it out on Dad. Don't blame your sister. It's all Dad's fault, okay?"

Qiu Chan was completely bewildered by the situation before her.

She didn't know what was wrong with her father and sister either.

Also, why should my own father, who is the best father in the world, apologize to me?

What exactly happened to Dad?

"Dad, what's wrong with you today? I don't understand. Shouldn't it be a happy occasion for everyone to have a meal together? Why are you all like this? Is everything your fault? What did you do wrong?"

Before Qiu Chan could finish speaking, Qiu Jingwen stroked his daughter's head.

"Good daughters, you'll find out later. Your older sister and brother will tell you what happened. Alright, alright, don't say anything more or ask any more questions. Dad has to go to the restaurant to keep Uncle Liang, Uncle Xiao, and Aunt Wei company. You three siblings, stop making a fuss and be good!"

After Qiu Jingwen finished speaking, he opened the door and walked out of the room.

The room fell silent once again.

Qiu Shou and Qiu Chan both looked at their sister, whose face was covered in tears, and neither of them said a word.

Qiu Chan was stunned by her sister's tears.

She no longer hated her sister for slapping her, because her father had said that her sister had something on her mind, and that thing was related to their father.

"Sister, you just called Dad by his name. Why is that? What's on your mind?"

Autumn Harvest gazed at the autumn moon and asked.

Qiuyue reached out and stroked her younger brother's hair, sobbing as she said:

"Okay, stop asking. I won't tell you anything. You'll find out when the time comes."
