Chapter 31 His Majesty's Domineering Aura

Chapter 31 His Majesty's Domineering Aura

The North, a blood-red wasteland.

What was once a desolate place where the wind howled has now been shrouded in a chilling atmosphere.

The scorched earth was riddled with craters from magical attacks, and broken weapons and still-wet bloodstains were everywhere.

The air was filled with the smell of gunpowder and a faint stench of blood.

The remaining demon army, clinging to the dilapidated fortifications, struggled to hold on.

In the sky, dozens of Xuantian Sect Taoists, riding flying swords and with their robes fluttering, used hand seals to summon thunder, wind, and fire, bombarding the defenses below like cats playing with mice.

"Form ranks! Hold on!" roared a wolf demon general covered in blood, his voice hoarse.

Just then, the sky was suddenly dyed a crimson gold!

A vast and boundless, terrifying pressure that made all things tremble crashed down like a tangible sky curtain.

The once arrogant thunder and fire were like fireflies compared to the bright moon in the face of this pressure, instantly dimming and dissipating!

All living beings, whether demons or human cultivators, involuntarily stopped what they were doing and stared in horror at the direction from which the oppressive aura emanated.

In the distance, a streak of crimson-gold light tore through the sky like a meteorite, hurtling toward them at a speed beyond the reach of sight.

Where the light streaked across, the clouds dispersed, and space itself seemed to distort slightly.

Closer, even closer.

It was an enormous, sacred, and magnificent fire phoenix.

His wings spread wide, covering the sky and the sun, each feather burning with a divine fire of crimson gold capable of incinerating all things.

Those cold, crimson-gold eyes, like the eyes of judgment hanging high in the heavens, indifferently swept across the battlefield.

And nestled close to the neck of that sacred phoenix was a small figure radiating pure green light—it was Tang Lu!

She was firmly protected by a thick, warm shield of divine power, her face was a little pale, and she was tightly clutching the feathers on the phoenix's neck.

But his eyes were unusually bright as he looked down, filled with trust in Lili and anger towards those who had harmed the demon race.

"It's His Majesty! His Majesty has come in person!" The surviving demon soldiers erupted in wild cheers of relief, their morale soaring instantly.

The Taoist priests of Xuantian Sect all changed their expressions drastically, as if facing a formidable enemy!

"Red...Red Glass Demon King! Why would she come in person?!" The leading old Taoist priest with a long beard exclaimed in shock, his whisk trembling slightly.

They anticipated that the demon realm would retaliate, but they never expected that it would be this demon realm supreme being who had been in seclusion for many years who would personally take action!

Ignoring the commotion below, the Flame Phoenix gracefully circled in the air before transforming into a dazzling streak of light and landing at the forefront of the shattered battle line.

As the light faded, Chi Li's figure appeared.

She was still dressed in a red casual outfit, her face cold and aloof, as if the phoenix that had just scorched the heavens and boiled the seas was not her true form.

In her arms, she still held Tang Lu, who was unharmed but a little nervous.

"I have arrived." Chi Li's gaze swept lightly over the ravaged battlefield, finally settling on the Taoist priests in the sky who looked as if they were facing a formidable enemy.

Her voice was calm, yet carried a chilling edge that could freeze one's soul: "Who gave you the audacity to harm the people of my demon realm?"

"Your Majesty, Demon King!" The long-bearded old Taoist priest forced himself to remain calm, stepped forward, and cupped his hands in greeting.

"We are cultivators of the Xuantian Sect. Our purpose in coming here is only to eliminate the demons that have repeatedly invaded the human world and harmed living beings. We do not intend to be enemies with the entire demon realm!"

Your Majesty, please investigate thoroughly and do not cover up any wrongdoing…

"Disturbing the human world? Harming living beings?" Chi Li interrupted him, a cold sneer curling her lips. "Where's the evidence? Just empty words from your two-faced Xuantian Sect?"

She gently put Tang Lu down, patted her back to signal her to stay where she was and not move, as the divine power shield remained firmly in place.

She took a step forward.

Just one step!

"boom--!"

Centered on her toes, crimson-gold flames spread out instantly like living things, transforming into a huge ring of flames that protected the entire demon territory. The intense heat distorted the air, yet it did not harm a single demon.

Outside the ring of flames, the earth instantly turned scorched and cracked. Several Xuantian Sect disciples who were closer did not even have time to scream before their protective magic treasures and their physical bodies vaporized and disappeared!

"My people, no matter how many faults they may have, are not for you to judge!" Chi Li's voice suddenly rose, filled with supreme authority and boundless rage. "Today, since you dare to extend your claws, then leave your lives behind!"

Before she finished speaking, her figure transformed into a streak of crimson-gold lightning once again, charging directly into the Taoist ranks!

There were no fancy moves, no lengthy incantations.

Only the purest and most violent crushing!

Her hands were like the sharpest divine weapons, easily tearing apart the magical artifact's protective shield and crushing the flying sword.

Her flames were everywhere, igniting anything that touched them and impossible to extinguish, turning each Taoist priest into a wailing torch.

Wherever her gaze fell, the space seemed to collapse. The Taoists with weaker cultivation were directly shattered, their minds and souls broken, and they died bleeding from all seven orifices.

This was a one-sided massacre!

The formations, talismans, and flying swords of the Xuantian Sect are as fragile as paper in the face of absolute power.

The long-bearded old Taoist priest's eyes were bloodshot. He took out an ancient bronze mirror, which shone brightly and emitted a "mysterious cold light" that was enough to freeze one's soul!

"Your Majesty, be careful!" cried the demons on the ground.

Chi Li didn't even lift her eyelids, letting the cold light shine on her.

The extreme cold, enough to freeze mountains and rivers, hissed and evaporated instantly upon touching her body, without even shaking a single hem of her clothing!

"A mere trick." Chi Li sneered, flicked her finger, and a tiny spark shot out, instantly piercing the bronze mirror and disappearing into the old Taoist's brow.

The old Taoist priest stiffened, and the light in his eyes quickly dimmed.

Immediately, transparent flames erupted from his entire body, and he turned to ashes in the blink of an eye, without even being able to utter a scream.

With their leader dead, the remaining Taoist priests completely collapsed, scattering in all directions, crying and screaming.

"Trying to leave now? Too late!" Chi Li hovered in mid-air, her red hair flying wildly, like a god or demon descending to earth.

She formed hand seals, and divine fire surged around her, condensing in the air into an even larger and clearer phantom of a fiery phoenix!

"Phoenix Flame - Burning the Heavens!"

The phoenix phantom let out a clear, piercing cry that seemed to pierce the clouds, and then suddenly flapped its wings.

Endless crimson divine fire, like a celestial river pouring down or a raging tidal wave, swept towards the fleeing Taoists with an aura of utter destruction.

Where the flames passed, not a blade of grass grew, and all things returned to nothingness!

Screams rose and fell, only to be instantly drowned out by the explosions of flames.

In just a few breaths, the once arrogant Xuantian Sect cultivators, along with their magical artifacts and flying boats, were all reduced to nothingness in the Burning Phoenix Flame, leaving not even a trace behind.

The sky was reflected in an eternal crimson gold.

The wasteland was utterly silent.

All the demons looked at the dazzling figure in the sky, which was as bright as the sun, with awe and excitement, their bodies trembling.

Chi Li slowly descended from the sky, her fierce killing intent gradually subsiding.

Her first glance fell on Tang Lu, who had been obediently staying in place and protected by the shield.

The little guy seemed shocked by the devastating scene just now; his mouth was slightly open and his eyes were wide open.

Chi Li's heart tightened, and she quickly walked over, crouching down to be at eye level with her, her tone revealing a nervousness she herself didn't realize: "Were you scared?"

Tang Lu suddenly came to her senses, looked at the concerned face, and shook her head vigorously.

She reached out her little hand, not out of fear, but to gently touch Chi Li's cheek, sensing the slightly agitated spiritual energy within her body caused by the earlier outburst and the lingering pain in her old wounds. Her little brows furrowed.

“I wasn’t scared,” Tang Lu’s voice was soft, but unusually firm. “Lili… is so amazing! But… does it still hurt here?”

Her finger lightly touched the spot where Chi Li had an old wound.

Chi Li was stunned.

She thought the little one would be afraid of her power and terrified of her killing, but she didn't expect that what she cared about was whether the little one would be in pain.

She held Tang Lu's small hand and shook her head: "It doesn't hurt."

Immediately, she stood up, looked around at the surviving and extremely excited demon soldiers, her voice regaining its authority, yet carrying a soothing power:

"Those who offend our demon realm, no matter how far away, will be punished! This matter will not end here! Xuantian Sect must pay the price!"

"Long live the Emperor!" The demon soldiers erupted in a deafening cheer.

Chi Li nodded slightly, picked up Tang Lu again, and ordered the guards beside her: "Clean up the battlefield, properly care for the wounded, and strengthen border patrols."

She lowered her head and said softly to the little tree spirit in her arms, "Let's go home."

The afterglow of the setting sun cast long shadows of them; behind them lay the burning battlefield and the cheers of rebirth, while ahead lay the road home.

When the Demon King was enraged, corpses littered a hundred miles away.
