Todd then went to the smelting site at the foot of the mountain to make preparations for the refining of silver.

Edgar then went to the market to buy consumable materials such as timber, charcoal, and oil.

The three set off immediately and began working that very morning.

Upon arriving at the smelting site, he first gave the craftsmen a lecture on the principles of serving the Heavenly Father, then led them in modifying the furnace to accommodate the upcoming equipment installation, and excavated some of the silver mine waste from the mountain and piled it on an open ground.

After finishing his work, Todd sat down among the craftsmen and chatted idly with them, but his eyes caught sight of little Jerry squatting in a daze not far away.

This guy, who is nearly two meters tall, is a conspicuous presence wherever he goes.

Todd found it strange that ever since he woke up, the tall, thin young man had been following him closely, never leaving his side.

In Huggins' words, he wants to be your bodyguard; this is his way of atoning for his sins.

The monks and apprentices scoffed at this idea, thinking that the guy might suddenly go berserk one day, and that this close-knit behavior seemed more like a request for help.

Around one o'clock that afternoon, Edgar returned in a wagon loaded with consumables.

Around 5 p.m., Huggins arrived at the site with the first batch of furnace equipment.

Directing the craftsmen to install and adjust the ash-blowing furnace, Todd rubbed his hands together and lit the charcoal in the furnace trough with a torch. The bright red flames instantly illuminated his face.
