Where is Lord Todd now?
Wearing full armor, Huggins entered the Valkyrie's village, found Brunhilde, and asked her this question.
The Valkyrie leader chopped at the firewood, glanced at the other person, and pointed to the cave in the distance: "He has been in that ruin for three days and has not come out."
Huggins' voice lowered: "What exactly happened?"
“Like I just said, ever since his heart stopped beating for a minute in the tower of the ruins, he’s started saying strange things.” Brunhilde frowned. “He talked about the origin of the world and its ruler, but when I pressed him for details, Todd refused to go into more detail.”
Huggins gripped the hilt of his sword, nodded, and entered the cave, passing through the tunnel and finally arriving at the deepest abyss within the ruins.
The knight found Todd at the bottom between the towers.
The latter sat on the metal surface of the ground, resting his chin on his hand and stroking his skin covered with a fuzzy beard, completely unaware of the actions around him, lost in thought.
Huggins crouched down, trying to keep his tone calm: "Lord Todd, it has been a full three days since you last went out to work..."
Todd didn't respond to Huggins' words, muttering to himself, "I feel like something's not right..."
Huggins was completely bewildered: "Sir?"
The conversation with "Crystal Nest" and the influx of information caused Todd a severe "cognitive shock," forcing him to rethink everything that had happened from a new perspective and with new thinking. Now, he is using everything that happened in the North Island Ruins as the starting point for his memories, tracing his thoughts back to when he first arrived in the other world.
If the "Crystal Constellation" is the creator of the world, then all things in the world are objects of their observation, and the legendary gods are their chosen agents.
So, why did those worlds of the past disappear? Where did the gods who acted as their agents go? How were carbon-based life forms used by the "Crystals"? What exactly are the "Crystals"? What is the meaning of the Odin Tablets' mention of discovering the Creator's intentions and resolving to rebel?
Moreover, some phrases mentioned by "Jing Su" are very intriguing.
'Resetting the petri dish,' 'bending and refracting two spaces when necessary,' 'completing the crystal host through carbon-based organisms'...
This conversation at the ruins taught Todd many things, but it also raised even more questions.
However, one thing he was certain of was that while there were facts in what 'Crystal' said, there were definitely lies as well. There must be something more important that the damned crystal hadn't revealed. There must be a deeper connection and secret between the world and dimensions, between the creator and living beings.
Todd looked up at Huggins and laughed, "I suddenly realized something: some things are better left unsaid no matter how much you think about them now..."
"grown ups……"
“Let’s go back to Twilight Town. Oh, and before we go back, I want to see the Valkyries.” With Huggins’ help, Todd struggled to his feet.
An hour later, after washing up, Todd stood in the village hall and said to the Valkyries filling the room, "Although I did not find the gods in the ruins, I found a way to track them down."
Brunhilde exclaimed excitedly, "What method?!"
"Rebuild Asgard (the realm of the gods)."
Todd's answer made everyone stop in their tracks, their mouths agape.
"You're crazy..."
Brunhilde slowly sat down, her face filled with disbelief.
Todd glanced at everyone, secretly unscrewed the pheromone bottle cap, and said, half-jokingly, "My soul was sucked into the spire of the ruins, where I saw a seven-colored goat, which gave me the mission to rebuild the divine realm."
The Valkyrie's elder opened her eyes wide and roared in a dry voice, "You've seen the nurturer of the gods—Heidrun the divine sheep?!"
Based on his memories of the ruins, Todd then described in detail the appearance and posture of the Golden Tree and the Seven-Colored Divine Goat. The Valkyrie elders, surprised, corroborated his account with poems passed down orally through generations of their clansmen.
But some Valkyries still questioned: "Why would the revelation of the gods be conveyed to a heretic? And how do we know that what you are saying is true?"
Todd lowered his voice: "How could we possibly comprehend the will of the gods? I have told you the prophecies of the gods; I have conveyed the entrustment of our ancestors to you. Will you choose to disbelieve everything and slowly rot in this stone tomb, or will you choose to follow the revelation and rebuild the land of glory?!"
The Valkyries looked at each other, and a moment of deathly silence fell over the room.
Breaking the silence was the Valkyrie leader, Brunhilde. She rose from her seat, stood beside Todd, and addressed her people: "I've had enough of this life as a gravedigger! If I had a choice, I'd rather be a charging warrior, dying on the battlefield! Even if there's only a tiny chance of rebuilding Asgard, I'd gladly give my life to be forged into the foundation stone of the ladder!"
"I am willing to join the forces that rebuild Asgard!" A Valkyrie stood up and loudly echoed Brunhilde's oath.
"I'd love to!"
"Me too!"
...
As Todd watched the increasing number of Valkyries, he made up his mind to leave the village and step into the outside world, and breathed a sigh of relief.
At that moment, Brunhilde moved closer to Todd again, sniffing and full of suspicion.
