The name "Muxi Harbor" has existed for 150 years, but ironically, only a handful of fishing boats have set sail from here throughout such a long period of time.
Fortunately, the establishment of the Kingdom of Muxi completely changed everything.
In the early morning when the winter snow was falling, Morgan directed his people to move the grain and goods purchased by the Southern Empire from the hold of the cargo ship to the wooden barns in the harbor.
Facing the slightly fishy sea breeze, Morgan looked up and surveyed the Muxi Harbor.
The northernmost seaside building is a shipyard jointly built by the people of the North Island and the kingdom.
Ships are the most valuable possessions of the North Islanders, and shipbuilding is a sacred and noble profession in the North Island.
The construction of a ship begins with the shipbuilder receiving divine instruction from the priest. Then, he must venture alone into the deep mountains and dense forests to select the sacred wood from the revelation. Finally, he spends a whole year carving and completing the work.
The decision to bring North Island's shipbuilding techniques to the Kingdom of Twilight was initially opposed by the elders of the Black Skull tribe, but Morgan overruled their objections and facilitated the construction of the shipyard.
In return, Todd handed over one-third of the maritime trade and transportation work of the Twilight Kingdom to the Blackskull tribe.
Further south lies the main port area, with piers and berths evenly distributed along the shore. Two three-masted merchant ships from the Abbasid Empire and seven cargo ships from the Northern Island are smoothly anchored in the Muxi ice-free port.
Morgan checked the goods, and after confirming that everything was in order, he brushed the snow off his clothes, climbed the slope, and headed towards the inner city of the kingdom.
Due to the heavy snow, the sea route to the North Island was temporarily closed, forcing Morgan to remain in Twilight City until spring. In fact, he was not bothered by not being able to go home for the New Year. Compared to the backward and harsh village environment of the North Island, Twilight City, with its delicious food, fine wine, drama, martial arts, and women, was the young chieftain's true love.
The number of North Island people living in the Kingdom of Muxi is no more than two hundred. They all live in a settlement area in the northern part of the royal city, which consists of long concrete houses in the North Island architectural style. Few people are willing to move out of the settlement area and into the city. The reason is simple: the scars and estrangements left by the Battle of Muxi are not easy to erase.
Before even entering the gates of the settlement, Morgan could hear the sounds of fierce fighting and wailing coming from inside.
Seemingly accustomed to the commotion, Morgan pushed open the door and went inside.
A North Island warrior, clutching a broken wooden shield, fell backwards and landed heavily at his feet.
The Valkyrie leader, Brunhilde, brandished her fists and roared at the cowardly warriors around her: "You're just a bunch of slow-moving weaklings! Your comfortable lives have completely robbed you of your fighting instincts!"
Upon hearing this, Morgan subconsciously touched his stomach, where a ring of fat replaced his abdominal muscles, and involuntarily lowered his head, choosing to avoid the Valkyrie.
Things don't always go as planned.
"Morgan!"
Brunhilde punched and broke a wooden stake beside her, then questioned the Blackhead Chieftain, "Have you received a reply to what I asked you to inquire about?!"
Morgan nodded hastily and said, "I have already submitted our application to Lord Cumberland, the legion commander of the kingdom, to participate in the war, but unfortunately..."
The Valkyrie's eyes widened: "What's the pity?!"
"His Majesty has not agreed."
Brunhilde was indignant. She kicked away the piece of wood in front of her, put two fingers in her mouth, made a loud snort, and a white horse galloped up in front of her.
Watching the Valkyrie mount her horse and turn it towards the gate, Morgan panicked. He rushed to the horse and shouted, "Lady Valkyrie, where are you going?!"
“When you’re out raiding, the king doesn’t think of us; when you’re attacking the mines, the king still doesn’t think of us. If this continues, without the nourishment of war, you will eventually become a bunch of useless trash!” Brunhilde patted her horse’s mane, and the horse reared up, startling Morgan to step aside.
Brunhilde rode out of the camp, throwing down a sentence among the crowd: "Get out of my way, you spineless coward! I'm going to make the King fulfill the promise he made to me!"

The Knights' headquarters, council hall.
“By May of next year, the royal city will be half-finished. By then, His Majesty will be able to move there.” The monk Qiao tightened his collar and moved closer to the stove.
Todd, sitting on the throne, shook his head: "I prefer it here to the deserted royal city."
Cumberland, looking at the tactical map on the table, wanted to say something like, "This is against etiquette," but looking at the king sitting alone on the high seat, he ultimately chose to remain silent.
Jemro stood beside Rachel, now dressed in brand new clothes, the restraints on his left hand removed.
He followed the gaze of the person next to him and looked at the two people in the center of the long table. One was a beautiful young woman, and the other was a refined and composed middle-aged man. The two were reporting to Todd on the progress of the cathedral's construction.
If I remember correctly, the woman's name was Mary, and the man's name was Elijah.
Jemro stroked his chin and smiled gently.
"The church's framework has been completed, using a total of 83 supporting pillars. Due to the recent heavy snow and wind, the workshop has been rushing to produce a batch of reed covers, and there's still..."
Listening to Mary's explanation, Todd nodded slightly. The woman with the "hypermeability" ability possessed an unparalleled talent for data recording. What would normally require dozens of people to memorize, she could remember in just five minutes. If this ability could be replicated, the entire Muxi Kingdom could develop rapidly in both productivity and scientific research. Unfortunately, the "hypermeability" ability was neither a bacterial nor a parasitic ability; like Rachel and Karin, it was a hereditary ability, impossible to replicate, and could only be inherited from parent to child.
