Inside the Soul Space, in the conference hall on the second floor of the research institute.
Emerson, Cumberland, Terence, Mary, and Rachel sat at the same round table, looking up at the king seated above.
"Today is the first time that I have held a meeting with all of you here in the Soul Space," Todd said while thinking. "There are many advantages to holding a meeting here. First, it saves time. The 12 hours spent here are roughly equivalent to two minutes in the real world. We can use more of our precious time on more important things in the outside world. Second, it is more convenient. Everything you see and hear in your daily lives can be played out on the screen on the table in the form of videos and audio."
Watching Cumberland fiddling with the mouse on the table with a curious expression, Todd scratched the back of his head: "You might not be used to this way of operating at first, but you'll get used to it after a while."
After a pause, Todd cleared his throat: "Next, I have something very important to announce—I will be absent from the world for a very long time."
Apart from Rachel, the other four looked completely bewildered upon hearing this.
Emerson was the first to react: "Your Majesty, do you mean we won't see you in Muxi City?"
Todd nodded. "You could say that."
“How can this be?! You are the King of Muxi! What kind of ruler is absent from the throne for an extended period of time?!” Cumberland immediately objected.
Terence also questioned at this point: "The kingdom has many affairs to attend to, and the king's absence may lead to national turmoil."
Todd stretched out his hands and pressed down, signaling everyone to calm down.
“I will not relinquish control of the kingdom; in fact, I will spend more time on royal affairs. However, my office will be moved here from the Knights’ headquarters.” Todd pointed to the computer screen in front of him.
Mary understood somewhat: "You plan to stay here from now on..."
“That’s right. From now on, around 8:30 every morning, I will use the method of calling on souls to bring you all to this place.” Todd took a sip of his coffee and continued, “I call this meeting the ‘Daily Meeting.’ Before the meeting, please prepare your materials and documents, which I will handle together.”
Emerson tugged at his mustache with his fingers, his brows furrowing into a deep frown: "This method might work, but there are always occasions where Your Majesty's presence is necessary. May I ask how long Your Majesty will be away from Muxi City?"
“Maybe… a year.” Todd said this without much confidence. Because in his mind, another answer kept replaying itself—forever.
"A year?!" Cumberland's booming voice rang out again: "Your Majesty, what urgent matter requires such a long departure?! Can't we simply not go?!"
Todd closed his eyes, a desolate expression slowly appearing on his face: "It's something very important, I can't skip it..."
The attendees fell silent.
Some people, recalling the "heaven" they were in and the identity of the Holy Son, unconsciously shut their mouths.
Todd opened his eyes, looked around, clapped his hands and said, "Okay, since everyone has no objections, let's start discussing the meeting procedures and precautions for the future."
