The azure sea turned murky and dark, and the calm waves instantly transformed into raging torrents.
The gale-force winds and torrential rain lashed the Black Pearl's hull like countless whips.
Aisha stood at the stern, gripping the helm tightly, shouting something to the crew. The wind and waves drowned out her voice; the sailors could only make out a few fragmented words—'mast,' 'side,' and 'ballast.'
The experienced crew immediately guessed the captain's intention. They called out to their companions, stood together on the starboard side, grabbed the edge of the ship, and adjusted the counterweights, restoring the Black Pearl's balance.
Todd hurriedly stepped off the deck, and just as he stepped onto the first step, he was thrown heavily by a wave and fell down.
Struggling to get up from the cabin floor, Todd touched his forehead. His palm touched a patch of warm blood, but fortunately, the wound was slowly healing under the influence of 'regeneration'.
He stumbled to his feet, gasped for breath, and leaned against the wooden wall as he walked toward the passenger cabin.
Upon opening the hatch, the room was in complete disarray, with Rachel sprawled on the floor, frantically searching for something.
Staggering Todd rushed forward, grabbed her hand, and shouted, "Come with me!"
The woman's face showed an unusual panic and helplessness: "Our luggage! And the map that the contact person gave me!"
"Never mind that!" Todd forcefully pulled Rachel toward the door.
As they walked down the corridor, the two saw sailors throwing supplies and cargo from the holds into the sea through the windows, while simultaneously scooping out the overflowing seawater.
Back on deck, Todd heard Aisha scream.
"Prepare to withstand the impact!"
Following everyone's gaze toward the bow of the ship, Todd and Rachel were so shocked by what they saw that they forgot to breathe.
A black wave, fifteen meters high, blocked out the sunlight and blocked out the sky, like an ancient mountain rushing straight toward the tiny black pearl.
Feeling the ship beneath them, as if climbing a mountain at a 30-degree angle, Todd, realizing what was happening, pulled Rachel to the stern and clung tightly to the wooden railing.
The ship climbed upwards along the slope of the sea, with the gradient increasing to 45 degrees, 60 degrees, and 70 degrees, until finally the ship climbed almost vertically to the top of the wave slope.
Aisha wiped the salt water from her face, her heterochromatic eyes gleaming with a fervent passion for the sea and adventure: "Come on! Let the wind blow harder! Let the rain pour down! This is the life I love!"
The black pearl rolled over the first wave, fell from the crest of the wave, and plummeted vertically to the surface of the sea.
Everything on the ship entered a state of weightlessness; the barrels, ropes, and even the bodies themselves slowly floated into the air.
Immediately afterwards, a huge impact swept across the entire ship, feeling like a roller coaster dropping from the top to the bottom.
Just when Todd thought he could finally breathe a sigh of relief, an even bigger wave swept in.
Aisha steered the ship, laughing and shouting loudly as the astonished onlookers propelled the Black Pearl once again onto the crest of the wave.
And so, after an unknown amount of time spent on this arduous journey, the storms gradually subsided.
Todd, holding Rachel, sat at the stern of the boat, drenched in the icy seawater, trembling as he looked up at the sky.
The rolling dark clouds gradually moved away, and a clear sky reappeared overhead.
"The storm is over?!"
Todd stood up, a smile spreading across his face from the joy of surviving the ordeal.
Unfortunately, this joy did not last long.
"We are now right in the eye of the storm, what is commonly known as the 'eye of the storm'," Aisha said, pointing to the bow of the ship as she instructed her crew to make emergency preparations for the Black Pearl.
Todd looked around following his hand. Dark clouds and torrential rain filled the four directions, but the area where the ship was located was completely quiet.
Aisha wrung out the seawater from her clothes, shook her hair, and said in a low voice, "We'll have to figure out a way to get the boat out of the eye of the storm later. This part of the journey will be even more dangerous than before..."
Before the words were finished, a sailor cried out in alarm, "Under the ship! What are those black things under the ship!"
Everyone ran to the ship's side and looked down, discovering something strange about the seawater.
The color of the sea within a 50-meter radius of the Black Pearl is somewhat different from other areas. The area around the ship is black, while further out it is blue.
“Seaweed? Schools of fish?” Aisha gripped the edge of the boat with both hands, looked at the sea, and said with a frown, “This seawater is far too dark, it’s like a bottomless pit.”
While everyone was still discussing it, what happened next completely shattered everyone's psychological defenses.
One eye.
A giant eye opened and appeared in the "black water," its size almost equal to the entire hull of the Black Pearl!
Screams, cries, and curses echoed across the deck, and some of the more timid sailors fainted.
Aisha's legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground, muttering something to herself.
A taboo name gradually spread among the people—'Balor, the Evil Eye Demon King'.
Todd looked down at the enormous eyeball beneath the ship's hull, and, hearing the sailors repeatedly mention the same name, asked Rachel, "What exactly is Barol?!"
Rachel's face drained of color, her teeth chattering: "The Evil Eye Lord Balor is the king of the deep-sea giant race of Furmor in the mythology of the Northern Barbarian Kingdoms. Legend has it that he can use his demonic eye to kill any living being!"
