Todd's appearance made Sinclair's eyes light up, and he cried out at the top of his lungs, "Felice Child! Help me!"
Hyatt frowned as he looked at Todd's priestly robes, muttering under his breath, "Someone from the church?"
Number Seventeen looked at the leader and asked in a low voice, "What should we do?"
"We can't let him disrupt the ceremony." Hyatt raised an eyebrow and growled in a low voice, "Kill him!"
The three grey-robed aliens from the Conflict Legion, Seventeen, Twenty-One, and Twenty-Seven, immediately stopped what they were doing and surrounded Todd in a semi-circle.
Number Seventeen stared fiercely at Todd, as if he were looking at a lamb to the slaughter: "Idiot! You will pay with your life for your stupidity!"
Lying on the ground, barely alive, Number Thirty-Three struggled to whisper, "Be careful! He..."
Before the words were finished, countless tough and smooth threads emerged from the pores of the skin on Number Seventeen's arm. These threads crawled and spread on the ground, as if they were alive, and rushed forward.
Todd moved calmly, using his "Speed" ability to easily dodge the silk threads' attack.
Hyatt stared at the scene before him in astonishment and exclaimed, "An alien species of the Church? A blasphemer?"
Number Twenty-One slammed his hands together, and the surrounding air suddenly burst into flames. He then clenched his hands into a ball, drawing the flames from the air into his palms, where they slowly coalesced into a blazing, blinding fireball. Next, he thrust his palms forward with force, sending the fireball streaking through the air as it hurtled towards Todd.
Aside from the most mysterious fifth in line, Todd already knew the types of superpowers possessed by the Legion soldiers before him from Rachel. He calmly raised his right hand, his index and middle fingers together, and a chilling frost shot out from between them, striking the fireball. A tremendous sound of liquid vaporizing echoed throughout the room. In the blink of an eye, the fireball and frost vanished without a trace.
Hyatt solemnly put down the iron box, muttering to himself, "I never expected to encounter a blasphemer of the church here!"
After a moment's thought, Hyatt closed the lid of the iron box and said to his subordinate, "Don't get entangled with him anymore, finish him off as soon as possible!"
Number Seventeen nodded, took out a small crossbow from his pocket, and aimed it at Todd.
The latter looked at the crossbow bolt. The metal at the arrowhead was dark in color and heavy in texture, unlike ordinary iron. It was very likely the magic magnetic crystal that Rachel had mentioned, which was specially used to deal with alien species.
With a twang of a bowstring, the crossbow bolt, carrying immense kinetic energy, flew rapidly toward Todd's chest.
Just as the crossbow bolt was less than fifty centimeters from Todd, a hand suddenly reached out and accurately grabbed the arrow, forcing the attack to stop.
Valkyrie Ivy coldly looked at the gray-robed man in front of her, and with a slight exertion of her fingers, the crossbow bolt in her hand broke in two.
Looking at the strong woman dressed as a North Islander next to Todd, Hyatt's brows furrowed deeper and deeper. He quietly picked up the brass lock and locked the iron box again.
Number Twenty-Seven, who had been observing the situation, saw that no one was paying attention to him, so he took out several light green sacs of different sizes from his pocket and threw them forcefully towards Todd and Evie.
A greatsword taller than a person appeared in the darkness. Driven by immense power, its broad blade generated a terrifying gust of wind, blowing the sac thrown from the air back into the air.
Alfonso, clad in heavy black armor, strode into the room, the ground seeming to tremble slightly with each step.
The sac landed in the middle of the gray-robed men and exploded instantly, filling most of the room with smoke.
Knowing he couldn't defeat the enemy, Hyatt acted decisively, pulling the wooden bed where Sinclair and Leoric were lying to his side, and then shouted, "Everyone, come closer!"
Four soldiers from the Conflict Legion heard Hyatt's shout and ran desperately toward the sound.
The space in the room suddenly distorted and changed, and all the objects around Hyatt, including people, the ground, the bed, and even the smoke and dust, vanished without a trace in an instant.
Todd gasped as he looked at the scene in the room.
The spot where Hyatt originally stood, a spherical space with a diameter of about four meters centered on him, was forcibly 'cut' off from its original location and teleported to another location.
At the edge of the spatial rift, lay Legion Soldier Number Thirty-Three, who hadn't yet managed to enter the sphere.
However, his body was teleported away from the chest up, but his body below the waist was left behind.
Looking at the mess in front of her, Evie approached Todd and said in surprise, "This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. A person can just disappear into thin air like that."
Alfonso sheathed his greatsword and asked, "Your Majesty, where will they go?"
Todd crouched down, looked at the mutilated corpse of Number Thirty-Three, touched the dirt on the soles of the body, and asked, "If I remember correctly, there seems to be an underground river beneath Holy Guard City."
Ivy put away her weapon and looked towards the corridor outside the door: "You suspect these people escaped from the underground river?"
Todd slowly analyzed, "Saint Guard City is the country with the richest water resources among all the kingdoms in the Western Diocese. The reason for this is that a large river formed by the melting snow of glaciers flows through this kingdom. Therefore, the best way to escape from Saint Guard City as quickly as possible is to use the river and go south downstream."
Evie suggested another possibility: "Is it possible that the alien leader has already teleported far away?"
