With a flap of his dragon wings, Todd slowly landed at the canyon's pass, turning back to Evie on his back and saying, "Follow Froststone's army! Get out of here immediately!"
Ivy, clutching her bruised arm, jumped off Todd's back, looked at the black dragon in front of her, and said, "I can stay and help you."
As Cú Chulainn slowly approached from the distance, Todd's dragon eyes narrowed to straight lines, and he said in a low voice, "The battle between him and me is an inescapable destiny, and no one else should interfere."
“I will wait for you to come back outside the canyon…” Ivy paused for a moment, then said resolutely, “If I don’t see you come out, I will go back into this canyon!”
Todd turned to look at Evie, slightly opening his dragon mouth as if to speak.
Ivy stubbornly shook her head at him: "The end of your life is the beginning of my death, and this is my destiny!"
Todd sighed softly, giving up on trying to persuade her. He turned around, flapped his dragon wings, and flew towards the battlefield.
Watching the figure soar higher and higher in the sky, Ivy bit her lip and slowly retreated towards the canyon.
Todd controlled his speed and altitude, circling over Cú Chulainn's head, looking for a suitable opportunity to attack.
To his surprise, Cú Chulainn stood there, watching himself fly through the air, showing no intention of attacking.
"Todd...I want to talk to you."
Cú Chulainn's sudden words startled Todd in the sky.
The latter slowly descended, maintaining a safe distance from Cú Chulainn, and asked, "Are you still conscious?"
Cú Chulainn grinned: "I haven't...lost my mind. I know very well...what I'm doing..."
Todd glanced at the corpse at the other man's feet and growled, "Sensibility?! Open your eyes and look at everything you've done!"
Cú Chulainn straightened up, looked up at Todd, and slowly said, "Ulster... my homeland, the paradise I once swore to protect with my life."
Todd found this monster utterly incomprehensible: "To protect Ulster with your life? Is this what you call protection? Turning others into beasts like you who only know how to kill?! Wake up! You are destroying this country!"
Cú Chulainn gripped the Deathly Strike Spear and roared, "No! It wasn't me who destroyed this country! It was the foolish king! And those greedy nobles!"
Seeing that Cú Chulainn's upper body was gradually showing signs of degenerating into a human form, Todd guessed that the other party had not completely transformed into a monster form and still retained some human thinking abilities.
"King Conchuber of Ulster was short-sighted and couldn't see the situation clearly. Despite being utterly incompetent in politics and military affairs, he was jealous of talent and refused to listen to advice, even killing loyal officials." Cú Chulainn, having regained his human form, spoke much more fluently: "Therefore, I had no choice but to kill him."
"The nobles of Ulster are even more despicable! They ceded territory and sold out their country for personal gain! By betraying Ulster's interests, they made a dirty deal with the Kingdom of Connaught, pushing this country step by step into an endless abyss! So, I killed them too!"
Cú Chulainn's eyes were bloodshot, and the lance of death shone brightly red in his hand: "The king, the nobles... they have betrayed Ulster! Only I, only I can save this country! Only I am the last hero of this country!"
Todd flapped his wings, adjusting his safe altitude and distance, and shouted at Cú Chulainn: "Hero? You call yourself a hero?! Open your eyes and look at those dead civilians! Among them are elderly people with white hair and young children. They were unarmed and innocent. What did they do to them? It was the cruelest and most heinous crime I have ever seen!"
“Innocent?” Cú Chulainn looked at Todd in mid-air and laughed loudly. “You’re saying those traitorous civilians are innocent?!”
"Those innocent people you speak of! Those people who should have deeply loved this country and were willing to give everything for it, are all a bunch of shameless traitors! They groveled before the invaders, actively leading them into their own homes, secretly assisting in the destruction of their own country! What's worse, they even betrayed the ancient gods of Ulster and chose to believe in a cult!"
Cú Chulainn drew his deadly spear, pointed it at Todd, and roared, "They are not innocent at all! These traitors bear the greatest responsibility for the state of my country!"
Todd shook his head angrily and loudly denied this view: "The decline of a kingdom cannot be blamed on the people. People will only develop so-called patriotism when their basic needs for survival are met; this is an unchangeable aspect of human nature."
"human nature?"
Cú Chulainn's human form slowly faded, and his monster form gradually emerged.
He shouted at Todd, "If humanity is so ugly, so despicable! Then for the sake of my homeland, Ulster, I am willing to utterly destroy it. As long as this country can stand, I am willing to become a complete beast! To guide this country and lead my people with my bestiality!"
“Todd, I thought you were the ruler of a nation and my teacher’s student, that you would understand me… but it seems you are just as foolish as Concherber!”
As Cú Chulainn crouched down, his Tyrant form growing ever larger, Todd knew perfectly well that their conversation was over.
All that's left is to continue communicating with claws and weapons!
