Enraged, Count Nar rolled up his sleeves and tried to rush onto the throne, but Rutledge pulled him back.
"Why are you stopping me?!"
Rutledge looked at Todd and said slowly, "Holy King, have you considered having someone else inherit the throne of King Muxi?"
Upon hearing Rutledge's words, Count Nar stared at him in disbelief and said, "Inherit the throne of King Muxi? Are you crazy? We agreed from the beginning that we would destroy the Kingdom of Muxi and restore the Silver Ring Kingdom!"
Seated on the throne, Todd asked Rutledge with interest, "Successor to my throne?"
Rutledge smiled and said, "You still have no children, and the heir to the kingdom remains undecided. Upon hearing this, Count Nar was furious: "Rutledge, you traitor! You bastard! You betrayed the Silver Ring Kingdom, you betrayed our trust! You will go to hell..."
Rutledge looked at the silent Todd and revealed a cruel smile: "Holy King, if you doubt my sincerity, I can pay you a small deposit first..."
Before he finished speaking, a sharp dagger slipped from Rutledge's sleeve. With a flick of his wrist, the blade pierced Count Nar's back.
As the shrill screams of his men echoed, Count Nar turned back in disbelief to look at Rutledge. Blood slowly trickled from the corner of his mouth. Before he could utter a complete sentence, his body slumped to the ground.
Wiping the bloodstains from the dagger onto Count Nar's clothes, Rutledge gave the assassins a wink, then continued to Todd, "Your Majesty, if you agree to abdicate, the Dawson family will help you resolve the chaos in the city. All the remnants of the Silver Ring Kingdom will be sent to hell one by one. How about it? This is definitely a worthwhile deal. Don't you want to consider it?"
Todd watched as the assassins began disposing of the bodies and arranging the scene, and said with a smile, "Rutledge, shall we talk?"
