In Muxi Harbor, hundreds of ships of various sizes blocked the entire bay.
Some of these belonged to pirates, but most belonged to Froststone City.
After the earthquake, the sounds of fighting and carnage in the vast port gradually subsided, and everyone raised their heads, casting their gazes upon the darkness above.
Lightning cleaved the dark sky, and dark clouds obscured the bright moonlight. A colossal dragon, whose full form could not be seen, soared across the heavens, roaring down upon the mortal realm.
Carroll pulled his battle axe from a pirate's skull, staring blankly at the black dragon circling in the sky, and asked in a daze, "Is that the Son of the Gods that people talk about?"
Aldnan slowly lowered his claws and said blankly, "I always thought Randall was joking, but it turns out it was all true!"
On the decks, along the walkways, in the harbor, and on the streets, tens of thousands of Froststone warriors knelt down in unison, facing the direction in which the black dragon was flying in the sky.
A short while later, only the sounds of prayer and praise remained throughout the city.
The citizens of Muxi City, who were hiding in their homes, mustered up their courage and opened the cracks in their windows to look at the barbarians from the northern border outside their doors. One second they were bloodthirsty and brutal killing gods, and the next they were the most devout believers.
The black dragon flew around the entire city, surveying everything on the ground, before finally returning to the hill above the royal palace.
Still in shock, Carol suddenly heard the voice of the Crusader commander, Ackerman.
"The Son of the Gods has issued a holy decree: the Holy Army has regrouped and is marching on the headquarters of the Knights of Twilight!"
Similarly, every commander in every Froststone Chapter received their own instructions from the Soul Space.
"The Son of the Gods has issued a divine decree: Falcon Squadron, heed my command! Target—City Hall, all troops, proceed!"
"The supreme son of the gods has commanded us to attack the naval camp! Let us prove the Red Branch Legion's loyalty and faith with the blood and heads of our enemies!"
...
As orders were relayed to the various battle groups of the Froststone army, tens of thousands of Froststone warriors were divided into dozens of armies and set off towards their respective objectives.
Looking down from the sky, countless torches gather into a slowly flowing stream, flowing along the city streets and from the sea to all directions of the land.
Inside the kingdom's naval camp, the pirates who hadn't had time to escape trembled as they looked at the barbarian gladiators covered in paint outside the gate.
A pirate leader, seemingly a minor figurehead, was chosen by the group. Waving a white flag, he slowly approached the Red Branch Pirates, pleading loudly, "Don't kill me! Don't kill me! I surrender on behalf of everyone. If you let us go back, all the treasure on the ship is yours..."
Before the pirate leader could finish speaking, an arrow shot into his mouth, pierced his brainstem, and embedded itself in the wooden post behind him.
A warband leader, dressed in a bearskin and wearing an eye patch, stood atop a high wooden crate, pounding his shield with an axe and roaring, "The Son of the Gods has issued a decree: tonight's war accepts no surrender! Death will be your only release! Charge!"
Hearing their leader's roar, the gladiators of the Red Branch Legion, chanting hymns of the gods, surged into the camp like a pack of bloodthirsty beasts, fueled by faith and the thrill of slaughter.
Faced with this group of fanatical believers, the pirates couldn't even put up a fight and were quickly reduced to piles of flesh and bones.
The City Hall of Muxi, a landmark building of the Kingdom of Muxi, has now become a veritable wartime bunker.
The rebels and mercenaries blocked the gate with sandbags, set up muskets in every window, and even launched light cannons from the balcony.
A mercenary leader, hiding behind a third-floor window, shouted to the Froststone army at the street corner: "I have six hundred battle-hardened soldiers under my command, and I also possess the most advanced muskets and cannons in the Southern Empire. Anyone who tries to take this building will pay a heavy price! If you know what's good for you, let us leave now! I'll pretend nothing happened tonight!"
Among the Froststone army attacking the city hall, an old warrior carrying a longbow stepped forward; it was none other than Fried, the chapter commander of the Falcon Chapter.
He took a horn from his waist, puffed out his cheeks, and blew it forcefully toward the sky.
The deep, drawn-out sound of the horn instantly reverberated throughout the entire neighborhood.
As the mercenary leader heard the horn, his ominous premonition grew stronger.
He turned to his men and asked, "What does he want to do?!"
The mercenaries looked at each other, none of them knowing what was going on.
Two minutes later, a loud cry of a griffin echoed in the sky.
A Valkyrie, clad in silver armor and wearing a feathered crown, rode a gigantic griffin, flying swiftly from the sea towards the city hall.
As they drew closer to their target, the Valkyrie patted the back of her mount's neck and began to gradually lower the griffin's altitude.
The moment the Valkyrie reached the target building, she pulled on the reins, and the griffin's claws snapped open, sending a net bag full of spore parasites plummeting straight down.
The earth-shattering explosion and the intense, blinding flash spread rapidly outwards from the location of the city hall, like ripples on a pond.
After the fire, the once magnificent city hall was reduced to a pile of utter ruins.
Amidst flames and smoke, the Falcon Legion ventured into the ruins to begin searching for survivors.
The mercenary leader was pinned under a huge stone pillar, one arm was missing, and there was not a single patch of intact skin on his body.
