Chapter 582 Judgment in Hell

When everyone regained consciousness, they found themselves on a scorching hot earth.

Hot lava peeked out from between the rocks beneath our feet, the sky was obscured by thick smoke and dark clouds, and the air was thick with the suffocating smell of sulfur.

Feeling the intense heat around him and the scorching heat on his armor, Cumberland opened his eyes wide and asked, "Where am I?"

"hell."

The dragon flapped its wings, tearing through the thick fog in the sky, and landed on the burning earth. Looking at the people before it, it said, "The place where evil ends."

Whether they were Crusaders, Valkyries, or Knights, everyone disregarded the scorching heat of the ground and knelt down, awaiting the judgment of the gods.

Todd waved ahead, and the souls of the orcs who had just died in battle floated out of the ranks and slowly came to the dragon's feet.

Todd raised his dragon head, looked up at the sky, and roared, "Shields!"

An angel, bathed in light, pierced through the thick fog and slowly descended into the sky above hell.

Shields, despite having a human form, doesn't seem to belong to any creature of this world.

He was extremely handsome, with an androgynous appearance. The light emanating from his body seemed to purify the surrounding space, eliminating darkness and shadows and bringing endless peace and tranquility to those around him.

Shields approached Todd and bowed respectfully, saying, "Your servant, who walks the highest heavens, awaits your command."

Todd pointed his dragon claw at the orc soul before him: "Begin the judgment."

"yes."

Shields drew a shape in the air, and a giant scale appeared out of thin air.

Then, he moved his finger, and the orc soul at the front of the queue slowly floated to the front of the scales.

As the orc's life story began to play on the screen, Shields began to toss the weights representing good and evil onto the two sides of the scale.

After all the weights were placed, Shields glanced at the scales below the balance and turned to Todd, saying, "The Supreme One has the right to enter Heaven."

Todd nodded.

Shields raised her right hand, and two female angels descended from the sky, one on each side of the orc's soul, and slowly rose into the sky with him, disappearing into the horizon.

Shields turned her gaze to the second orc soul and said, "Next."

Just as the second orc was being judged, a fire wave hundreds of meters high surged from the distant sea of fire in Hell.

A creature with curved horns on its head, a long tail on its back, and red skin with purple flames rising from it slowly rose from the lake and flew to Todd's side.

"Owner."

This creature from Hellfire Lake had goat-like pupils and a hideous face that sent chills down one's spine. He first bowed respectfully to Todd, then looked disdainfully at the trial ceremony Shields was conducting, and said in a deep voice, "According to this fool's judgment, everyone is a saint!"

Todd looked at the hellish creature and said, "Mathernas, I allow you to offer your opinion."

“Thank you very much, my master.” Mathernas flicked his tail and walked to the scales of judgment. Under Shields’s angry glare, he took a weight from the good side and intended to throw it into the evil side.

Enraged, Shields flapped her wings, and the space instantly burst into light: "You blasphemous villain! Get out of my way!"

Mathernas shook the weight in his hand and looked at the orc soul, saying, "This man, before becoming a Crusader, once killed one of his friends with his own hands."

Shields countered, "His friend, having offended the tribal chief, should have been sentenced to death with his entire family. To uphold the honor of his friend's family and to save his loved ones, he reluctantly executed his friend with the tribe's approval."

Matheras scoffed, "Bah! What honor? If he were truly brave and cared about his friends, he should have started a rebellion and killed that tyrannical tribal chief, instead of choosing to live like a coward!"

"An uprising? Do you know how many people die in an uprising? Do you know that war depletes the tribe's food supply, leaving them facing extermination that following winter?! This person made the best judgment while respecting order; this action is undoubtedly a good deed!"

"You idiotic angel with nothing but rigid rules in your head! Why don't you look at what happened to this tribe after that? Because of that mad tribal chief, hundreds of tribesmen were slaughtered one after another. I dare say, if this man had been braver back then, he and his friends would have overthrown that chief's brutal rule!"

Listening to an angel and a demon arguing about good and evil, Todd had a strange feeling.

But now he also realized the problem: it might really be difficult to judge good and evil in the orc's execution of his friend.

Todd raised his dragon claw and said, "Let's call this disputed. Don't put this weight on the scales. Let's continue the trial."

“As the decree is obeyed, my master.” (Shields, Mathernas)

During the subsequent trial, such debates about good and evil continued to arise, all stemming from the different perspectives of angels and demons.

Of course, once these controversies were settled, Todd put them aside.

Soon, the verdict was announced.

The souls of dozens of fallen orcs, whose fates were all tipped towards good, all entered heaven.
