The sweltering heat of midsummer has not yet dissipated, and the coolness of early autumn is faintly present.
The port area of Twilight City welcomed a group of very special guests.
A group of terrifying-looking, bizarre creatures slowly rose from the sea surface and walked gently towards the pier on the shallows of the port area.
Shark-men with thick legs and huge saber teeth; sea lion-men with enormous size and incredible strength; flounder-men with webbed hands and feet and gill lobes on their chests...
Although they had already learned of the sea races' arrival on land, large numbers of Muxi residents still gathered in the port area to enjoy the sights, as if participating in a grand parade.
"I never imagined there would be such a creature in the ocean!"
"Dragon God above, behold their claws!"
"Mom, that fish has grown legs!"
Hearing the whispers around him, Huggins, sitting in the carriage, shook his head with a wry smile and then said to his attendant outside the carriage, "Tell the guards at the scene to keep a close eye on things and not cause any trouble."
Rita's glass water tank was the last to appear on the driveway in the port area.
This time, the huge glass tank not only contained mermaids, but also some jellyfish that emitted colorful light, and some creatures whose bodies looked like jelly.
Amidst the gasps of amazement, these creatures continuously changed color and shape.
Compared to Rita, who was already used to the public eye, the other marine creatures in the tanks appeared unusually nervous, trying their best to hide in the water.
Aldenan, who was in charge of security, looked absentmindedly into the distance and casually said to Carol, "Barbara has been discharged from the hospital."
Carol hummed in agreement and said nothing more.
Aldenan pursed his lips: "Shouldn't we go see her?"
Carol shook her head: "What she needs most right now is rest."
Aldenan: "I heard that the doctors advised her to give up the baby."
Carol: "She won't agree."
Aldenan turned his head to look at Carol: "Are you so sure?"
Pretending not to see the mockery in Aldenan's eyes, Carroll said softly, "I know her."
Aldenan laughed.
The Ocean Clan set off from the port area, passed through two blocks, and arrived at the well-known coastal commercial district of Twilight City.
Shop owners waited at the door early, piling up their most expensive goods outside, hoping to attract the legendary big spenders.
A shark-man, splashing seawater on himself, struggled to the shop and immediately spotted a leather belt.
"Dear guest, you have excellent taste. This belt is sturdy and durable, made with the finest materials..."
The shopkeeper's voice trailed off as he saw the shark-man wearing the belt around his neck.
The shark-man used the belt as a necklace and hung his small bag on the metal buckle of the belt.
After testing its sturdiness, the shark-man nodded in satisfaction.
The shop owner smiled helplessly, his face conveying an expression that said, "As long as you're happy."
The shark-man took a handful of lead-sized pearls from his small bag and, amidst gasps of surprise, placed them in the shopkeeper's hand.
Watching the shop owner frantically picking up the pearls, a bystander exclaimed, "Trading a leather belt for a bunch of pearls, this business is really..."
Soon, the other sea creatures arrived at the commercial street.
One member of the flounder tribe traded a large piece of coral for an iron pot; another member of the sea lion tribe traded a whale bone for two small mirrors; and yet another member of the sea swan tribe traded a piece of gold ore for a fishing net.
Faced with these obviously unprofitable deals, Rita, who was well aware of market prices, not only did not stop them, but instead watched all of this with a smile from the water tank.
In the distance, sitting in his carriage, Huggins watched the sea creatures making large purchases and said softly, "It looks foolish, but it's the fastest way to integrate into Twilight City."
Meanwhile, on the northern plains of Muxi City, at the foot of the Falling Star Mountains.
Wayne Dunlop commanded the Crusader orcs to lead a Thunderous Warbeast, as large as a small mountain, out of its enclosure.
Thunderous War Beasts, these enormous but docile war beasts, were creatures that Todd brought out from the Eye of Hell pit near the ancient city of Gugu.
An adult Thunder War Beast is seventeen meters long and four meters tall, and its load-bearing capacity is more than ninety times that of an ordinary mule or horse.
Unfortunately, these creatures are slow-moving and not suitable for transporting goods quickly.
However, the Dragon Kingdom's army discovered a new use for these war beasts.
"Get the elevator moving!" Wayne shouted to the dwarves on the elevator platform. "Slow down, don't frighten the war beasts!"
The dwarven craftsmen stood on a platform tens of meters high, pulling together on the elevator's pulley ropes to slowly place a strangely shaped "cannon" onto the back of the Thunder Beast.
The cannon was entirely black, covered with patterns of keel parasites, and its 3.8-meter-long barrel was wrapped with coils of Tesla parasites.
This artillery piece is the latest parasite coil gun developed by Mushi University. It uses the alternating current generated by the Tesla parasite to produce magnetic waves, and works by using the magnetic coupling mechanism between the drive coil and the projectile coil to launch the spore parasite in the barrel.
Seeing the parasite coilgun being placed on the back of the Thunder Beast, Wayne made a gesture, and several werewolves climbed up the back of the beast along its tail and began to secure the turret with rivets and chains.
A Valkyrie descended slowly from the sky on a griffin, nodded to Wayne, and said, "The target is set."
Wayne pulled out a monocular telescope from his pocket and looked towards the snow-capped mountain.
