"The standard database is updated once a month. The last update was 22 days ago, so there shouldn't have been any problem."
"However, earlier this month, just a week ago, a seabed fault shift occurred in a fragment of the New Hebrides in the Mariana Trench, causing deviations in local geographic data, which were not updated in the geological database in a timely manner."
Walking up to the world map screen, Clemens pointed to the center point of Nevada and said, "So, if we take the deviation caused by this seabed faulting into account in the calculations, then the center point will need to be shifted northwest, towards downtown Las Vegas..."
Before Clemens could finish speaking, General Hamilton interrupted him: "Nonsense! Do you know how many experts are here? Any one of them has a far superior research record and publications than you!"
"These people spent two whole years calculating this singularity eruption. How could you, an outsider, possibly understand the results of their work?!"
Clemens was so angry that his face turned red and his teeth itched.
General Hamilton waved his hand: "Take this guy away."
Major Cole said in a low voice, "I've seen his research data, it might be helpful to us..."
General Hamilton raised his voice: "First, we must ascertain his alleged treason! A man who has corresponded with the Russian Baikado organization is highly questionable in his loyalty to the country!"
Major Cole made a gesture, and the soldiers grabbed Clemens's arm and led him out of the command hall.
When he was taken away, Clemens did not resist, but said to Major Cole, "Time will tell."
