The queen froze for a moment, then regained her composure and nodded with a smile.
The serene moonlight disappeared behind the clouds, and the dim night descended upon the world.
A hand rested on Mary's waist, and the king carefully moved to her shoulder, whispering a word that lingered around her pillow.
"Feel sorry."
The former shook his head, still turning his back to the other occupant of the large bed.
The man turned around and lay back down on the bed.
After a while, he came to the queen's side again and asked in a low voice, "Perhaps, we can..."
Queen Mary wrapped the blankets around herself tighter, her voice not loud, but her tone leaving no room for argument: "I have said that I do not like to use those filthy things."
The man sighed heavily.
The woman lowered her head and remained silent.

The eastern sky was just beginning to lighten when Todd got up very early.
He didn't have any problem with sleeping in unfamiliar beds, but unlike in Muxi Town, the unfamiliar environment and tense atmosphere in the city always made it difficult for him to fall asleep peacefully.
To his surprise, Huggins and his men were already dressed and patrolling inside and outside the hotel. The dark circles under their eyes proved that even with the "guards" outside, these men were still faithfully performing their duties.
Knowing that Todd had a habit of eating breakfast, Huggins handed him the rye bread and eggs that he had prepared beforehand.
Sipping the water the hotel owner brought him, Todd ate small bites of rough bread, his gaze fixed on the door. Yesterday's "betting" incident made him need to carefully consider his next move.
Huggins didn't disturb his thoughts, but walked a short distance away and directed the farmers to start checking the condition of the roses.
About half an hour later, Edgar and Jerry also came out of the room.
The former, yawning and rubbing his eyes, walked up to Huggins, raised his chin, and extended his right hand in a familiar manner, his fingertips slightly curled inward. The latter rolled his eyes, shook his head, and handed over the half-eaten rye bread he was carrying.
Little Jerry then came to Todd's side, happily watching the pigeons wandering around in the open space outside the door.
Edgar, holding the flatbread, sat down on the bench next to the priest and began to wolf it down. Todd glanced at him, then at the half-eaten bread in his hand, patted little Jerry on the shoulder, and handed the food to the tall man squatting beside him.
After finishing his biscuit, Edgar carefully licked each of his fingers, glanced enviously at little Jerry, and suddenly remembered something. He then said to everyone in a proud tone, "In the end, I still have a way! Yesterday, I convinced that girl named Pamela that we are good people!"
Huggins had a bad feeling: "What did you say to her?"
Edgar coughed twice and said in an unusually serious tone, "Miss, although we may appear to be members of the Church, we are actually the embodiment of justice. Otherwise, think about it, why didn't we send you to the Inquisition, but instead hid you here?"
Huggins aimed at the back of his head and slapped him across the face: "You talk too much!"
After reprimanding the bigmouth, the man rubbed his temples and turned to Todd, asking, "What should we do today?"
Todd thought about it carefully for a moment, then said, "If possible, I'd like to go back to the cathedral, but the problem is how to get out of here..."
Is Lord Todd here?
A deep, loud voice came from the doorway, causing everyone in the hotel lobby to turn their heads.
The rising sun shone on the meticulously crafted, gleaming armor, reflecting a dazzling light.
The visitor was an elderly man. In his youth, he may have had a head of jet-black hair, but now, although his temples were completely white and his eyebrows and beard were all white, he was still very well-groomed. His eyes were bright and spirited, without any trace of the lifelessness or dullness of old age, giving people a feeling of inner piety and spiritual clarity.
When Huggins saw who it was, his face instantly turned from red to white. He turned around in a panic and fled the hall on all fours.
The old man kicked a bench, which struck the man squarely on the back, causing him to fall face-first to the ground.
Just as Huggins was about to get up, the old man hooked his leg behind his knee, knocked him down again, and stepped on his spine.
A voice exploded above the man's head, echoing throughout the hotel lobby.
"You bastard! I'll settle your score with you later!"
