Looking at the other with pity, the man in black robes raised his hands toward the sky: "The Absolute Will is the only God in this universe. The Father, God, the Ancient Gods, and the like are merely his creations, and their power is bestowed upon them by him. The Absolute Will told me that he seeks the ultimate existence. He has given me a mission: to find a way for species to exist and thrive in the path of death. He wants me to become his agent!"
Jerome looked at the black-robed man before him, who appeared to be insane, and suddenly remembered something: "Did you kill Lord Theodore?"
“Indeed, he is an obstacle in the vision of absolute will.” The man in black robes pulled his hand back into his sleeve. “It was a painful decision, but it’s better than the ‘Necromancer’ technology falling into the hands of the Church.”
Jerome gripped his sword tighter: "So, are you going to kill me next?"
"You?" The man in black robes laughed loudly. "In the past, the 'Legion of Conflict' might have been an existence I had to look up to. But after joining the ranks of the Absolute Will, you people are nothing but a pile of insignificant grains of sand to me. Run away from me like a rat, for your fate will soon be the same as that of other living beings, embracing death."
Seeing that the man in black robes was simply standing there smiling, Jerome carefully moved his feet and left the village under the man's gaze.
Over the next few days, Jerome traveled, but lost his way. The failed mission, coupled with his wounds, hunger, and despair, forced him to reconsider who to turn to for help.
As the warrior of the 'Conflict Legion' finally fell at the border of Twilight Town, watching a tall knight walk towards him, darkness gradually filled his entire world.
