Chapter 675 Karin Returns Home

Rachel opened the door and found the waitress pushing the food cart hiding in the corner, looking at Marcus at the door with a fearful expression.

"Leave the food there, I'll get it myself."

Upon hearing Rachel's words, the maid felt as if she had been granted a pardon and ran out as fast as she could.

Using her telekinetic abilities, Rachel transported her and Karin's meal into the room, then left the rest of the food on the food cart for Marcus at the door.

After helping Karin with her cutlery, Rachel said softly, "Have you discovered anything about that strange man by the door these past few days?"

Karin, who hadn't had a proper meal in a long time, couldn't wait to stuff a piece of cake into her mouth and said indistinctly, "It's hard to say, but he gives me a strange feeling, a very strange feeling."

"Specifically?"

"He never sleeps, doesn't communicate with anyone except me, and..."

Before Karin could finish speaking, a chilling sound of chewing and swallowing came from the doorway.

Accompanied by a piercing cracking sound, it seemed that something like bone was being chewed up and swallowed.

Karin said nonchalantly, "That guy eats like a beast. He can eat anything, even raw, bloody meat. And what's interesting is that even though he knows I can't see, he always hides in a corner to eat..."

Rachel glanced towards the door and said in a low voice, "Haven't you thought about this yourself? Why would this strange man help you escape?"

Karin stopped eating, looking puzzled. "I find it strange too. I've never seen anyone like him before, but he always gives me a feeling of familiarity..."

Just as Rachel was about to ask something else, the sound of horses' hooves landing and armor scraping came from downstairs at the inn.

Karin asked, "Is someone here?"

Rachel patted the back of her hand: "Todd knew you were coming back, so he specially sent a team to escort you back... Although I told him I could take care of you, he insisted on sending someone to help."

Karin lowered her head, her voice barely audible: "Really?"

Hearing footsteps approaching the room from the hotel entrance, Rachel said to Karin, "You continue eating, I'll go out and say hello to whoever is coming."

Karin asked, "Who did Todd send?"

Rachel said, "Alfonso, Alfonso de Carver..."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Marcus at the door suddenly let out a deafening roar, accompanied by the clattering of breaking dishes, and lifted the food cart, smashing it directly in the direction of the footsteps.
