Upon seeing the "audience" at the bottom of the stairs, Todd immediately rolled off the recliner: "How could she be here?!"
Rachel pulled down the hem of her robe to cover her fair, flawless thighs: "Why can't she be here?"
Deirdre sat on the stairs, covering her face with her hands, on the verge of tears: "I shouldn't be here at all!"
In the vast room, there was no more voice, only the sound of burning firewood and suppressed sobs.
Todd's scalp tingled as he stared at the chaotic scene before him, then leaned closer to Rachel and growled, "What exactly do you want?!"
The latter climbed up from the recliner, tidying himself up as he smiled at Todd and said, "You'll find out soon enough..."
Todd frowned and gave Rachel a puzzled look.
"Deirdre, come here." Rachel waved to the woman on the stairs, her face full of kindness.
Deirdre looked up at the building below, her eyes brimming with tears, and said, "What else do you want?! I trusted you, I considered you my only friend, and this is how you 'help me'?!"
“You may resent me now, but one day you will thank me,” Rachel said as she walked down the stairs and looked at the woman on the stairs.
Deirdre covered her ears with her hands: "I disobeyed my father, betrayed the tribe, and now you're hurting me like this! I will never believe a word of lies again!"
Rachel reached out and used her 'telekinesis' to pull Deirdre downstairs, saying to her, "There are some things I want you to know."
After saying this, she winked at Todd.
The latter looked at the former with a blank expression: "What do you want to do?!"
Rachel rolled her eyes: "Take her into the temple."
Todd stared wide-eyed at Deirdre, who was struggling in mid-air, and said to Rachel, "Bringing her in there at a time like this? You're not kidding, are you?"
"Believe me."
Todd sighed helplessly, placed his finger on Deirdre's temple, and said softly, "Ratchet, you'd better give me a reasonable explanation after we go in."
Amidst the woman's screams, the three souls instantly arrived at the Linxia Temple.
Deirdre knelt on the ground, staring at the solemn and mysterious hall in front of her, frozen in place, completely unable to speak or move.
Taking advantage of the lull, Todd approached Rachel and asked irritably, "Now you can finally tell me what you're up to!!"
Rachel turned to Todd and said mysteriously, "Deirdre is a mutant..."
"I know that, you've done it before."
Her special ability is called "medium".
"A medium?"
Todd paused for a moment, then finally realized: "Are you the kind of person who goes around telling everyone that you'll have a calamity in the future, with a crystal ball in hand?"
“That’s a fortune teller!” Rachel rolled her eyes at Todd. “Besides, what’s with your narrow-minded description and disdainful expression? In ancient Tyro, fortune telling was a very respected profession.”
Todd waved his hand dismissively: "We're getting off topic! That Jiang... 'medium' ability."
“‘Medium’ is an extremely rare ability. Even in the thousand-year history of the Elder Council, only one medium has ever appeared.” Rachel pointed to Deirdre not far away, her face full of excitement.
"Halfway through, you still don't understand what the 'medium' ability is."
“The ability of a medium allows beings of other species to communicate with the dead.”
Seeing Rachel's serious expression, Todd rubbed his face vigorously and said in a distressed tone, "Talking to the dead? Are you going to tell me next that she can bring the dead back to life?!"
Rachel punched Todd hard and said angrily, "You'll find out soon enough whether I'm telling the truth or not!"
Once she regained her senses, Deirdre looked at Todd and Rachel in the temple and asked blankly, "Who exactly are you people?"
Rachel bowed respectfully to Todd and said to Deirdre, "The man before you is not Boyle; he comes from the kingdom of the gods."
Deirdre turned her gaze to Todd, her eyes gradually losing their light: "You are not Boyle."
Seeing that he could no longer hide it, Todd shed his Boyle disguise and revealed his true appearance in the soul space.
Looking at the completely unfamiliar face in front of her, Deirdre collapsed to the ground, initially sobbing, but later bursting into loud crying.
Looking at the heartbroken woman before him, Todd felt a tightness in his chest, a feeling of guilt slowly spreading within him.
Turning his head and seeing Rachel's calm expression, Todd was furious and said angrily, "It's all your fault! How are we going to clean this up?!"
Rachel rolled her eyes at Todd, then walked over to Deirdre and knelt down in front of the barbarian woman, saying softly, "Would you like to see the last moments of Boyle's life?"
With tears streaming down her face, Deirdre looked up and choked out to Rachel, "How can I see?"
“I can’t do it, but the god in front of you can let you see that scene.” Rachel pointed to Todd behind her.
Todd sighed and reluctantly projected his memory of rescuing Boyle from the dungeon into the soul space using 3D projection.
