Crouching low, Carol dodged the bite of a necromantic giant bear, then used the strength of her waist and back to charge and smash it into the air, knocking down a group of undead in front of her.
Aldnan rushed forward, picked up a broken spear from the ground, and threw it with all his might, piercing the head of an acid-spitting alien undead.
The werewolf ran to Carol and yelled at her, "Do you know what this is? This is suicide!"
Carol chopped down the undead giant bear that charged again with an axe and said, "At least before I die, I can kill a few of these disgusting monsters!"
Aldenan sighed, completely giving up on trying to persuade him. He turned around and stood back-to-back with Carol, focusing on dealing with the undead around them.
Just as the two were focused on killing the enemy, a chilling undead creature crawled on the ground, using the corpses as cover, and slowly approached them.
Spotting the two people's backs, the Bone Spike Necromancer stood up, its bone spikes standing upright and trembling slightly.
Just as the Bone Spike Necromancer was about to launch its attack, a black knight's lance pierced straight through its body.
The knights of the Twilight Knights charged directly into the horde of undead in a wedge formation, slowly turning the tide of the battle that had been on the verge of collapse.
Alfonso de Carver swung his spear, tossing the Bone Spike Necromancer's corpse to the ground, and said to Carol and Aldnan in front of him, "Retreat and regroup!"
Aldenan watched the knights rush past him and let out a sigh of relief, as if he had just escaped a disaster.
Carol looked at Alfonso and asked, puzzled, "You guys? Weren't you supposed to be at the rear of the battlefield? How did you end up here?"
Alfonso raised his spear and pointed it toward the Falling Star Mountains: "We have reinforcements."
Carroll looked in that direction and saw a large, fast-moving special army at the edge of the battlefield, constantly reducing the number of undead.
Carol vaguely remembered the creature running at the very front of this army.
The creature was over ten meters long, with its spiky tail, resembling a steel whip, accounting for half of its body length.
Its entire body is light gray, and its surface is covered with a strange mucus. Once it comes into contact with light, it creates a wonderful visual illusion, making this creature blend into its surroundings.
It has limbs with explosive power and a streamlined body suitable for swift and stealthy movements. Its posture looks like a leopard, but its size is much larger.
On its long neck is a huge fleshy sac that opens and closes, which is usually retracted into the abdominal cavity and only exposed to the outside of the body when needed.
Its head's appearance can only be found in horror legends.
A pair of completely black, oval eyes with no pupils visible, two pairs of bizarre mouthparts resembling insect jaws, and dozens of tentacles hanging from the top of its head constitute the most terrifying aspect of this monster.
"Shadow..."
Aldenan named the creature.
