After a while, Ackerman, the Crusader commander elected by the leaders of the races, came to Cumberland's side with the two snake-woman sisters and said, "His Majesty is in the city."
Cumberland didn't even look up: "I know."
"I heard from the Valkyrie that the city is full of undead monsters."
"I know."
"Shouldn't we do something now?"
Cumberland looked up from the sand table: "Until the new orders arrive, everyone cease the siege and remain in place."
Ackerman rolled his eyes helplessly: "You're the highest-ranking official, so you get to decide."
Just as the Crusader members were expressing their dissatisfaction, a Valkyrie landed outside the tent.
Cumberland watched as the Valkyrie approached him, and before she could speak, he asked directly, "Let me guess, His Majesty wants us to go home?"
The Valkyrie was a little surprised, then nodded and said, "The Dragon God has ordered everyone to retreat."
Ackerman's eyes widened: "Retreat? Are you sure? In just half a day, we can take this city."
Cumberland tossed the branch onto the sand table and said to Ackerman, "Being vigilant and fearful in the face of the unknown is a quality that an excellent commander should possess."
Then he addressed everyone, saying, "Gentlemen, now that His Majesty has made his decree, everyone should pack up and go home."
Standing behind Cumberland, Alfonso said softly, "The history of Tero City has come to an end."
Cumberland paced to the entrance of the tent, looking at the Papal capital engulfed in flames in the distance, listening to the cries and shouts in the air, and slowly said, "Not only this city, but the era that has lasted for thousands of years and belonged to the Church has also come to an end."
