Chapter 185 The Rise of the Northern Island Force

After Mary finished speaking, Elijah continued, "Your Majesty, at our invitation, a group of scholars from the Holy Land Province (the Orthodox Church diocese) arrived in Muxi City yesterday evening. Their expertise covers a wide range of fields. Many of them are very interested in your newly proposed 'Patent Law' and hope to obtain your permission to meet with you."

Rachel placed her right thumb to her lips, gently grinding her teeth against her thumbnail, her face expressionless.

Todd thought about it and realized that seeing him might not be a bad thing. Just as he was about to speak, a commotion came from the main gate of headquarters.

Harkins, who was in charge of security, frowned, pulled aside a guard beside him, and whispered, "Go and see what's going on!"

The guard returned in a panic shortly after he left: "Your Majesty, a woman who calls herself Brunhilde says she wants to see you."

Todd was taken aback.

"Can't you see a meeting is in progress?" Huggins snapped.

The guard gave his officer a smile that was more like a grimace: "It seems the guards outside can't stop her..."

"What?!" Hugheston's face immediately turned as black as the bottom of a pot: "Four knights, plus twelve sergeants, and half a regiment of infantry, couldn't stop a woman?!"

Todd stood up from his throne, patted Huggins on the shoulder, and said, "Let's go out and see what's going on. The meeting is adjourned for now."

The group in the council hall followed the king to the main square of the Knights' headquarters, where they witnessed a scene that left them speechless.

Four fully armed "Inheritor" knights surrounded a Valkyrie warrior wearing a feathered crown, but despite their repeated attacks, they couldn't gain the upper hand.

This woman from the North Island, who served the gods, was like a butterfly flitting among flowers when attacked by the four men. She dodged every attack with lightning speed, yet managed to strike the enemy's weaknesses with perfect precision.

A knight raised his longsword and swung it at Brunhilde's arm, but she merely turned her body slightly, the blade slicing through the air just past her nose. The Valkyrie slightly raised her elbow, and in the half-second of her body shifting, delivered an elbow strike to the knight's neck where his helmet and plate armor met, narrowly avoiding the protection of the 'Dragonbone'. The blow was so powerful that even a successor with 'Pain Resistance' and 'Regeneration' was left kneeling on the ground, unable to recover for a long time due to poor blood circulation and oxygen deprivation.

Another knight, wielding a two-handed sword, thrust it horizontally towards the Valkyrie's face. Brunhilde unsheathed her spear, twirled it with flair, and then deftly deflected the attack by using the spear tip against the sword blade. She then swiftly swung the spear, striking the knight hard in the knee, forcing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground.

In just a few breaths, four 'Inheritor' knights were knocked to the ground by Brunhilde, and she looked as if she hadn't used her full strength.

Huggins' eyes widened, and he murmured, "God Father! How did this woman do that?"
