Clarence moved a chair in front of Todd and said sincerely, "But I really don't want to turn something mutually beneficial into such an awkward situation. Your Majesty, let me ask you one last time, are you really no longer considering cooperating with me?"
The king looked at him as if he were looking at a hopeless scoundrel.
"I guess our negotiations have broken down."
Clarence walked behind Todd and stretched out his hands toward the latter's head: "It's a pity. Among the kings I've met, you are one of the very few who are not despicable. I admire your achievements and appreciate your kingdom, but your ridiculous morality has limited your vision and hindered your progress. I think I have no choice but to use a more direct method to get everything I want directly from your brain."
Clarence leaned down and whispered in Todd's ear, "King Muxi, in these final moments, is there anything else you wish to say?"
With all his might, Todd bent his knuckles, raised his wrists, and stretched out his two straight middle fingers to express the rage in his heart.
Clarence sighed: "I hope you can maintain this courage and stubbornness in the world to come."
Clarence's fingers deformed into sharp spikes, piercing deep into Todd's brain along the hollow of his temple. Ignoring the latter's painful cries, he closed his eyes and said, "Omnipotent Holy Son, King who has appeared out of nowhere, let me use the power of 'Soul Link' to see what your secrets are."
