Chapter 615 City of Martyrs (19)

Sifulai, the deputy commander of the Valkyrie squad, explained to Randall, "The Valkyries are assisting the Crusaders and the Knights in attacking Tero City. We not only have to undertake bombing, sniping, and reconnaissance missions, but sometimes we even have to act as messengers, so we really can't spare any more manpower..."

Randall shook his head hesitantly and said, "But..."

Ashley tossed her golden, wavy hair and said, "If the Alien Association hadn't used the emergency distress signal, do you think we could have gotten here so quickly? And... wait, who are they?!"

Several small heads poked out from the clock tower's doors, looking curiously at the griffin resting with its eyes closed on the hill.

Seeing Ashley's surprised expression, Randall explained the whole story to her.

Thirty-seven children?! Are you crazy?!

Ashley, her face filled with disbelief, yelled at Randall, "So many children, plus you few, taking so many people out of the city? What do you think we're riding?! A flying carriage? Listen! I only promised to take you back!"

Randall said firmly, "Bring the child. I have already obtained the Dragon God's permission for this."

Ashley grabbed Randall by the collar and yelled, "You bastard! What do you take the Supreme God for?!"

Randall looked fearlessly into Ashley's eyes and said, word by word, "Let the children leave first, then my companions, and I'll be the last to leave."

Ashley paused for a moment, then shoved Randall away and said fiercely, "I'll settle this score with you when we get back to Twilight City!"

Ashley glanced back at her sisters and called out, "Everyone, clear out the baggage! Get the saddlebags ready and tighten the reins!"

She then turned to Randall and said, "Each of us can only take two children with us at a time, which means we'll be taking twenty children this time. The rest will have to wait until we come back next time."

"How long will it take to get here again next time?"

“Forty minutes.” Ashley first pointed towards the city center, where a huge horde of zombies was slowly approaching the clock tower.

"You should know without me reminding you that if those monstrous things take over the hills in forty minutes, we'll lose our landing sites. At that point, I will abandon you without hesitation and return immediately!"

Looking at the approaching black horde of zombies in the distance, Randall gritted his teeth and said, "I assure you, we can hold out for these forty minutes."
