About ten minutes later, Kellogg returned to the group and said, "A battle has just ended. Our army captured a group of church supporters."
Aldenan straightened up and said to Randall, "Perhaps we can meet with the army commanders and learn about the current situation, which will help us navigate the battlefield more effectively."
Before Randall could speak, Kellogg said, "Hiss, I don't recommend you go now..."
"Why?"
"Our troops... are arguing."
When Randall led his squad to the battlefield strewn with corpses, he witnessed a scene that astonished him.
The armies, both from the Dragon Kingdom, are now divided into two factions, standing in opposition.
One faction consisted of the Twilight Knights, clad in black armor, while the other was a small Crusader battle group composed of alien races.
Randall looked closely and saw that the Crusader Warband numbered about 120, all of them orcs, and they had captured twice that number of prisoners.
The leader of the Crusader Chapter was an orc commander wearing a one-eyed eyepatch. He had a prisoner's neck on his foot and was holding a piece of paper in his hand. He roared, "Look! Look at this leaflet I found! What does it say? These sons of bitches are slandering our gods!"
The commander of the Twilight Knights removed his helmet, revealing a weathered human face: "These prisoners of war have committed unforgivable crimes, but neither you nor I have the right to act as judges. We must take them back to the camp, where the Grand Master and the Shaman Assembly will deliver a just verdict."
The orc commander tore the paper in his hand to shreds: "The moment these people wrote these blasphemous words, their lives were already over!"
The prisoner, kneeling at the orc's feet, cried out in terror, "I didn't write these things! The church gave them to me!"
The orc commander stomped his foot and roared, "Spreading the sins of blasphemers is a capital offense!"
The commander of the Knights stepped forward and said, "Indiscriminately slaughtering prisoners is not something we should do. You are a soldier! You should abide by military discipline!"
The orc commander looked at the knight and laughed, then said coldly, "We are servants of the Dragon God! Not soldiers of the kingdom!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the orc commander raised his foot and stomped hard on the prisoner's head.
With a crisp cracking sound of bones breaking, the prisoner's head exploded like a watermelon, its red and white contents spilling all over the ground.
