Author's Closing Remarks

There's an old saying, how does it go?

Adversity and hardship temper one into success.

From October 23, 2017, to November 16, 2021, it took four years to write this book.

In these four years, I got married, had a child, and even experienced unemployment twice.

Looking back now, it was truly remarkable that I was able to finish writing this book.

In the first hundred or so chapters before it was published, the writing style, concept, and theme were not mature enough, so when I opened the comment section, I could often see all sorts of "fragrant and pleasant" greetings. At that time, I really wanted to give up.

However, when I lie in bed every night and think about the votes and encouragement from my readers today, I always feel that if I don't continue writing, I would really be letting down these lovely and respectable supporters.

It's no wonder that scientific research has pointed out that guilt is the most difficult emotion for humans to let go of.

So here, I'm going to strip naked and perform a double backflip in the snow and ice for all you brothers reading this book (I wonder if there are any female readers?) followed by kneeling down to express my gratitude.

I am truly grateful for your support until now. Without you, I would not have been able to complete this work.

After expressing my gratitude, I'd like to briefly talk about the book.

I remember when I first started reading novels, Qidian.com wasn't owned by Tencent or Shanda. Back then, it belonged to a group of passionate young people who called themselves the Fantasy Literature Association.

At that time, most of the protagonists in the book had a pure heart, dedicated to saving the world and upholding the great principles.

But I don't know when it started, the protagonist's values began to slowly change.

Prioritize private interests above all else, and the interests of small groups below.

Novels with dark, apocalyptic, or self-serving themes are more likely to be accepted by the public.

The protagonist here possesses extraordinary abilities, seizing all wealth and power, which is indeed very satisfying to watch.

However, after I finished enjoying myself, I always felt that something was wrong.

So I wanted to try writing something, and I couldn't stop until I had been writing for four years.

Next, let's talk about our future plans.

The first half of the book "The Alien Knights" is actually not good, and can even be described as terrible.

To paraphrase what I once edited: "Holy crap, is your account the same one as before? Are you a paid ghostwriter he hired?!"

In addition, the book's appealing elements don't really suit the general public's taste, so its sales weren't very good.

So, this is the end of my writing career?

Impossible, absolutely impossible. (Cao Mengde said)

To paraphrase a veteran in the group—writing a novel is like wearing women's clothing; there's only the difference between zero times and countless times.

I will definitely continue writing the book; I've already thought of a title—"The Chronicle of Exorcising Immortals," an urban fantasy novel. (The original "The Immortal Exorcist Walker" has been scrapped, meaning I'm rewriting it.)

With four years of writing experience as a foundation, I hope my next book will be even more brilliant.

Finally, thank you again for your support, and see you in the next book.
