Upon seeing the Chapter Commander Fried standing before him, the mercenary leader coughed up a mouthful of blood and said with difficulty, "Save me... I know who's behind this rebellion..."
Fried crouched down, watching the will to survive burning in the mercenary leader's eyes, and calmly drew his dagger, slowly slitting the man's throat.
Seeing the terrified look on the deceased's face, Fried wiped the blood off the dagger and said calmly, "We don't need your information... God knows everything."
The Twilight Knights, Headquarters Building.
"Monsters! Monsters are everywhere! Our people are dead... all of them are dead!"
A pale-faced, mentally unstable soldier sat in the headquarters hall, staring blankly at the ceiling, his body convulsing.
The noble commander in charge of leading the rebels looked at the panicked old man behind him and asked anxiously, "Lord Baines, what should we do?"
As the Minister of the Interior of the Silver Ring Kingdom, Bai Ans had long lost his usual composure and calmness. Hearing the screams of soldiers coming from outside the door, he stammered incoherently, "How could this happen? How could it turn out like this?!"
The noble commander approached Bai Ans, his voice filled with anxiety, and said, "My lord! Listen to me! In my experience, any army in this world that faces those monsters will only meet defeat! Therefore, we must abandon our camp and flee this city as soon as possible!"
Bai Ans nodded vigorously and exclaimed, "You're right! We must retreat now! As long as we preserve our strength, we can make a comeback sooner or later! By the way, Your Majesty! Quickly summon His Majesty! He is the future hope of the Silver Ring Kingdom!"
Are you looking for this?
A cold voice came from behind them.
A group of grim-faced nobles with silver rings threw a boy's body into the hall.
Upon closer inspection, Bai Ans realized that the deceased was none other than the young king of the Silver Ring Kingdom, the six-year-old Guy VII.
"What! What have you done?!"
Bai Ans knelt on the ground, picked up the boy's body, and was overcome with grief, tears streaming down his face.
A Silver Ring nobleman, his hands stained with blood, shouted at his silent colleagues in the hall, "Any intelligent person can see that the Silver Ring Kingdom is finished! Do you want to perish with this kingdom, or do you want to gamble and fight for your own survival?!"
The silver-ringed nobles in the hall looked at each other, their faces filled with struggle and gloom.
Bai Ans clutched the Silver Ring King's corpse tightly to his chest, screaming hysterically, "Traitor! Shameless traitor! I curse you, I curse your souls to never find peace!"
In the hall, a nobleman, seeing Bai Ans's seemingly insane appearance, swallowed hard, took out a dagger from his pocket, and slowly walked towards the latter.
Under the old man's desperate gaze and painful wails, the silver-ringed nobleman plunged the dagger into his abdomen.
Immediately afterwards, more and more former Silver Ring officials took out their weapons and slowly approached Baines and the Silver Ring King.
Like a pack of hyenas gnawing on carrion, Bernis and Guy VII were quickly dismembered and decapitated by the nobles.
A loud bang came from the doorway.
The tightly locked gates of the Knights' headquarters were kicked open by an orc.
Orcs, werewolves, elves... all the soldiers of the Froststone Crusaders marched into the hall in neat rows. Looking at the mess before them, they began to whisper among themselves.
Dark Elf Commander Ackerman, accompanied by the Medusa sisters, approached the Silver Ring nobles and asked, "Who is your leader?"
Several nobles scrambled to pick up the heads of Bernis and Guy VII from the ground, crowding around Ackerman like treasures, and said obsequiously, "Your Excellency, please look, these two are the masterminds behind this disaster!"
Ackerman examined the two heads carefully, let out a long sigh, and then signaled to the Crusader soldiers to pack them up and take them away.
The Silver Ring nobles bowed and asked with beaming smiles, "Your Excellency, may we leave now?"
Ackerman turned and smiled: "Don't worry, following the divine decree of the Son of Gods, I will send you on your way..."
As the orcs raised their massive clubs and the werewolves licked their claws and approached, the Silver Ring nobles cried out in terror, "No, you can't do this! We've already handed over the ringleader! We've already surrendered!"
Moments later, heart-wrenching screams echoed from the headquarters of the Twilight Knights.
