The knight answered the priest's question by shaking his head.
Someone suggested going to the town to take a look.
Alfonso once again expressed his opposition, stating that the task assigned by the Vatican was to guard the crystal relics, and that dereliction of duty was a major taboo for subordinates.
After waiting a while longer, flames rose up in the town, and chaos spread like wildfire, with the sounds of fighting and crying filling the air above the entire town.
"Have our men returned from town yet?"
"My lord, not yet!"
Alfonso gripped the hilt of his sword tighter, his eyes filled with anxiety.
Just then, a woman stumbled into the entrance of Watchtower Town, covered in blood and in a daze.
"Save my...child..."
The woman murmured these words softly as she fell to the ground, unable to get up despite her struggles.
The soldier closest to her rushed forward, helped the wounded woman up, and shouted, "Hey! Wake up! Can you hear me? What happened in town?!"
The next second, something unexpected happened.
The woman suddenly sat up from the ground, her limbs binding the soldier like shackles. Her mouth opened wide, and she bit down hard on his lip. With a jerky flick of her neck, she tore a large chunk of flesh from his chin.
