Chapter 16 Explaining to the Emperor What Subject Three Is

Looking at the eager eyes of the civil and military officials, the emperor suddenly felt a little nervous. He touched his short beard and said embarrassedly, "I usually dance randomly, and I can't perform on the big stage."

Xiang Hua took a step forward and said in a frivolous way: "It's okay, I can teach you."

"You? Teach me?" The emperor suspected that he had heard wrongly. How could someone dare to be his teacher? The last person who was his teacher was an old and highly respected tutor.

Xiang Hua looked innocent, "Yes, I know a lot of dances. Your Majesty, I can teach you to dance Subject 3, and teach Your Majesty the Queen to wave her flower hand. You two are especially suitable for this."

Upon hearing this, all the civil and military officials lowered their heads and whispered to each other.

"What is Subject Three?"

“Is the flower hand shake a type of dance?”

“I haven’t heard of these.”

Not to mention that the civil and military officials had never heard of it, even the emperor had never heard of it, "My dear Xiang, what is subject three?"

Why does it sound like some kind of exam?

Xiang Hua scratched his head and said, "Subject Three is just a nice dance. You just follow and learn it."

She didn't know how to explain subject three. Anyway, when she was in heaven, she saw many people in the human world jumping. Later, they in heaven organized a collective jump.

I can’t say it’s very beautiful, but it’s quite fun.

"Then do I still need to study subjects one and two?" the emperor asked. If there is subject three, then there should naturally be subjects one and two, and maybe even subjects four, five, and six.

Is this a series of dance styles? It sounds so complicated. Why does it make me want to give up?

"Subjects one and two?" Xiang Hua was speechless again. How should she explain this? "Your Majesty, as the saying goes, one begets two, two begets three, and three begets all things. This subject three already contains all the essence. Don't worry, I'm here to make sure you learn it quickly."

Xiang Hua made up an excuse and managed to get away with it. The emperor didn't ask any more questions.

There was still about a week before the Mid-Autumn Festival. After the morning court session, Xiang Hua rode his mule home as usual, carrying the imperial edict from the emperor.

As usual, the mule defecated in front of the gate of the Golden Throne Hall. Now it has become its daily routine to come to the palace to defecate every morning.

It seems that it is uncomfortable to defecate anywhere, and it only feels comfortable when defecates at the door of the Golden Throne Hall.

The palace maids and eunuchs who were responsible for cleaning that area were complaining terribly, as they had to endure attacks of feces and urine every day.

Xiang Hua returned home and looked at the performance list of civil and military officials, and suddenly found a problem.

"Daddy, why don't you sign up for the talent show?"

"Me?" Xiang had been hungry all morning and was almost choked by this question after taking a mouthful of rice.

"Why should I participate? I don't have any talent."

"Dad, you are not enthusiastic about the emperor's affairs. Be careful that the emperor will blame you." Xiang Hua looked at her father with dissatisfaction, and then said, "Mother and brothers should also actively participate."

"Hua'er, I'll join you. I'll do whatever you ask me to do." Huang Si Niang picked up a piece of fat meat for her daughter, and then said distressedly: "You have become so thin during the time you were in court. Eat more."

The three brothers of the Xiang family also expressed their willingness to unconditionally support their sister's activities and do whatever they are asked to do.

Now the family had no choice but to ask the official not to participate in activities organized by their daughter.

"Well... I... I'll participate. I'll participate too, okay?" Xiang agreed in the face of a family's dissatisfied gaze.

Before the family finished lunch, many people came to the yard.

The emperor has issued an edict, and now everyone in the city knows that the palace is going to hold a Mid-Autumn Festival Gala.

The Xianghua family's yard was surrounded by people, and many people came with silver coins to register.

"Mr. Xiang, can ordinary people buy tickets by paying money?"

"Master Xiang, can I pay a little more money to let my son and daughter participate in the talent show?"

"Master Xiang, I want to buy a seat in the front row. How much does it cost?"

Xiang Hua winked at her brothers, and they understood what she meant.

Soon, several large bamboo baskets filled with melon seeds appeared in the yard.

"Come on, don't be anxious. Eat some sunflower seeds first and we'll talk while we eat. The money for the sunflower seeds will be directly included in the registration fee later."

Xiang Hua distributed melon seeds to everyone while asking Chi Gua to find Eunuch Liu.

When Eunuch Liu arrived, the Xiang family's yard was already covered with cracked melon seeds.

Seeing that he only found a large carriage, Xiang Hua shook her head in disappointment: "Eunuch Liu, why do you always lack confidence in me? Last time when the emperor asked for disaster relief funds, you only found one carriage, and this time is the same."

Eunuch Liu had an awkward smile on his face. He really didn't have much hope for Xiang Hua's action this time. Last time she was lucky as a blind cat caught a dead mouse. How could it be so smooth this time?

We are not stupid people with a lot of money. Who would be willing to spend money to attend the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala? It sounds unreliable.

Although this matter has been approved by the emperor, he does not agree with it in his heart.

"Lord Xiao Xiang, if this carriage is full, I will find another one." Eunuch Liu smiled, took out a notebook and started to keep accounts.

"I want to buy a ticket. Is ten taels of silver enough?" asked a man holding silver.

"Ten taels can buy a general seat." Xiang Hua said while cracking melon seeds.

"Puzuo?"

"Puzu is an ordinary seat. It may be far away, so you may not be able to see the emperor dancing clearly."

"Well... what kind of seat can I buy with 50 taels? I want to watch the emperor dance."

"3rd class seats cost 50 taels, and you can vaguely see the emperor dancing. 200 taels cost second class seats, and you can see the emperor dancing. 500 taels cost first class seats, 1000 taels cost VVIP seats, and 5000 taels cost SVIP seats. The more money you pay, the clearer you can see. It costs 2000 taels to register for a spot in the performance."
